Yeah shoes are quite hard but have a nice arches. If you have a wider foot you may look sick old and the van is fairly short which makes your knuckles on your toes popped out when you were on point. As your knuckles are popping out and makes your foot and makes your toes look like they are not connected to your foot making your feet look kind of sloppy. He’s quite pink and the fabric is not enjoyable one point it gets dirty easily.

I just came back to dancing en pointe after taking an 8 year break (ugh, life). I used to wear a model of Capezio's that were discontinued and had to re-start my pointe shoe search. So glad I found the Chacott Veronese II. They have no wings and are super lightweight which makes them pretty comfortable (as comfortable as a pointe shoe can be). I was told that they would break down fast but after Nutcracker rehearsals and 6 performances, I found they held up just as well as any other shoe I've tried. I do jet glue the tip just because it's habit but the shank stayed supportive (M shank) and they do feel like they're ready to dance in the first time you put them on. I wear a regular width size 9 in street shoes which translates to a 26 E in Chacott.

I have been wearing these shoes practically the entire time I've been en pointe (about 11 years) and I love them. Every time I try something else, I always come back to these. I know pointe shoes are very specific to the type of foot, so if you are looking to try these shoes, here is what I will say. These shoes will not work for for someone who has very strong or very womped (arched) feet. I have a pretty average arch, short, even toes, and relatively narrow feet. I do not wear out shoes quickly and generally find most other brands to be too hard for me to break in adequately. If this describes you too, then I would give them a shot!

I've been dancing en pointe for about 7 years now and have gone through nearly as many brands of shoes. These Chacotts, along with the Bloch European Balances, are by far the winners.
My feet are: inflexible, compressible, with a normal/medium arch and short toes that taper after the second (my second and big toes are roughly the same length). These shoes do a great job of accentuating what shape my feet do have while still providing solid support en pointe. While they often feel stiff at the start of class, they warm up quickly and are supple after a class or two. I usually order 2 pairs at a time because of a size difference in my feet, and it's easy to keep both in wearable shape, which is great for performance season! They break in easily and without any extra fuss than a class or two and a little bit of massaging.
Unfortunately, this is also their downside: I don't have very strong feet/arches and I completely broke a pair of medium shanks within an hour and a half technique class. I have since switched to hard shanks which do last longer but still definitely have a shorter lifespan than any of my other shoes (minus the Gaynor Mindens, which were improperly chosen) and are less attractive on my feet than the medium shanks - I go through around 6 pairs in a rehearsal semester during which I dance about 9 hours/week total and about 6.5 en pointe. They also have a slightly peachy color rather than the traditional ballet pink. It doesn't bother me, nor is it at all distracting on stage or in class, but definitely don't expect them to match your Bloch ribbons.
In all, I love these shoes but I would be prepared to buy a lot in one semester. For me, it’s worth it because I can’t find any other shoes to fit my feet, but it is a pretty big chunk of change. Take that into consideration.
My shoes:
24.0 C Hard LF (I am planning to order a half-/full-size down next time for a better fit)
24.5 C Hard RF

UGLY ON FEET
When I got these shoes, I was excited because they had a very hard shank, but had to exchange them for a bigger size. When my next pair came in the mail, I sewed them up right away and wore them to class. They were very frustrating to dance in because of the straight hard shank. I was surprised because my arches are insanely strong, and I usually break shoes in after a couple of minutes of wearing them. After the first couple of classes, I broke them in using my hands, but ended up almost breaking them. After that, they lasted about one more class. When they did break in, though, I thought they would look great on my feet. They made my already narrow feet look even more narrow and sickled. Overall, I do not like this shoe at all, and think it was a waste of money.

BAST POINTE SHOES I'VE HAD
Before trying these shoes I was wearing Bloch Aspirations, which were difficult to break in and didn't mold well to my skinny feet. My ballet teacher suggested these. And I love them! For once I have found a shoe that fits my skinny foot like a glove and that breaks in easily. I am a size 8 in street shoes and got a 38, which fit perfectly. They're not big or bulky, and the box is slightly tapered, which is more comfortable than a square box for me because I have Egyptian feet. I would recommend these shoes for people with long, skinny feet with tapered toes.

REMARKABLE COLOR & COMFORMITY; LAMENTABLE
The title summarizes everything. The color of these shoes is quite sui generis, in a class of its own. The shoes are a golden-yellow color (like the crystalline shades of a citrine gemstone), and not at all a peach or a soft pink like most pointe shoes. The fact that the shoes have such a low profile and wingless shank allow them to fully "mold to the foot", so the shoe and foot are truly one, instead of having the foot be obstructed and completley encased by the shoe like for many pointe shoe brands. However, the shank is very very flexible (even in the Hard shank, in my opinion), and offers little no almost no support for me (I have higher, stronger and fairly flexible arches and insteps). I would reccomend this shoe not for the people like me, but for the people with lower to no insteps and arches, and for those with weaker feet and for those who have difficulty getting over their boxes.

OKAY POINTE SHOES
I got these pointe shoes really recently. I have high arches and strong feet, and I can already tell that they won't last long. They make my arches look amazing, though. They are soft, and it is really easy to get up on pointe which is good for beginners. I don't think that I will get these pointe shoes again, but I would definitely recommend them for people with flat or weak feet and/or beginners.

NT IMPRESSED
These were my first ever pointe shoes. I have been doing pointe for 3 years now and I am at the pre-professional level. The shoes have an extremely short break-in time, which is great. But they do not last very long at all. Almost everyone at my studio uses them, but I don't particularly care for them. I have a high arch and the shank broke in all 3 pairs of this brand that I have had. This shoe is great for people that are beginners with pointe and/or have very low arches and weak feet. I do pointe 3-5 times a week and they are not substantial enough. But they are extremely comfortable (I don't wear any toe pads, spacers, bunnies, etc.).

HOW TO BREAK-IN A CHACOTT VERONESE
This is how to break in these shoes, and it works every time (I've been wearing these shoes since I was 28, I'm 32 now, and my size is 23 C Medium. Super-high Arch, Super strong feet, regular shoe size 6):
1. Put them on and decide which will be the Right and Left. Mark the inside R and L.
2. Sew your ribbons & elastic. I sew my ribbons to the inside way down next to the shank to make sure it hugs my arch.
3. Put the shoes on while wearing what ever toe tape, pads, spacers, etc. you use. Personally, I only use toe tape.
4. Put a pair of thick socks on over your shoes (really).
5. Walk around the house for 5-10 minutes or so.
6. Wrap your feet up in a blanket while still wearing the socks over the pointe shoes. Sit down & watch a movie.
7. Let your feet sweat in the shoes under the blanket during the movie.
8. Get up and walk around for another 5 minutes.
9. Take the shoes off and Jet Glue the entire inside of the toe box (really soak it). Be careful not to get glue onto the satin.
10. Hang the shoes by the ribbons (toe box down) and let them dry completely. I usually put them in a window. (About 2 hours)
11. Congratualations! They ought to be awesome now, a little crunchy for the first class, but awesome.
12. At 4 hours of pointe class per week, I can get about 6 months out of a pair if I break them in this way. (Note: I weigh ~105lbs.)
Happy Dancing!

THEY'RE JUST "OK"
They are pretty comfortable and fit my feet well but they take awhile to break in. The cloth on the inside of them also started to peel off which is really annoying. I also feel like they are for dancers with low arches, and my arches are pretty high. They aren't the worst shoes ever, but they're definitely not the best.

GREAT FOR FIRST-TIMERS
I got these for for my fist and second pair of pointe shoes. the first time they were absolutly perfect. plus the color is a little golden/pink, not my favorite shade but they dont turn gray like traditional shoes can do from being worn out. the second time i bought these, my feet and ankles were stronger and they were totally broken in after 45 minutes. they wont last long if you have strong feet but they're great for begginers.

I LOVE MY CHACOTTS!
I recently switched over from Blochs after months of not being able to get over my toes. My feet are nearly flat and the strong shank/high vamp of the Bloch Serenades did not do me any favors. Chacotts are a lot softer than Blochs so if you have a high arch or prefer your shoes to be hard like Russians I wouldn't recommend these. They do have a shorter vamp, but it has pretty good coverage and I haven't fallen out or anything given my longer toes. I'm a true 7 with semi-wide feet and I wear a 23 1/2 EE with a medium shank. It's a little disappointing that discount dance doesn't have my width since these are pricey in the store. Oh well, they do feel a bit too wide though so maybe I'll be able to fit into the E. ANYWAY, these are wonderful.

GREAT SHOE FOR LOW ARCHES AND SHORT TOES
I actually love this shoe and they're perfect for dancers with low arches like myself. The shank is hard but extremely flexible; I didn't have to break them in. I know others didn't like the color of the satin because they're a salmon color, but I don't mind it. They're very comfortable to the point where I didn't wear my toe pads. I've had these for two months already with 2 pointe classes per week for an hour and they're still going strong. My only complaint is that if you have medium to long toes, these will bend in the metatarsal area and give a bad looking crease in the front of the shoe. Although I love them, the vamp isn't long enough for my toes so I probably won't repurchase them.

WEIRD COLOR, TOO SOFT
These were my first pointe shoes, and when I tried them on I thought even though the color is really orangey and weird, they let me get over on pointe all right so I'll get them". That is true until you break these shoes in because once you do, they get way to soft. Already in my first class I was going over on pointe too far, and my arch wasn't getting enough support. Also when you get them, the demi-pointe area is really stiff so you have to put lots of rubbing alcohol and do tons of releves from demi-pointe to pointe to make them seem normal when you rise up. So if you don't need lots of support and don't mind taking a long time breaking them in, or the orange color, I guess they would be a good shoe for you but for others who dont, I wouldn't recommend them.

MALLEABLE SHANK GOOD FOR THE FIRST-TIMER
This is a fabulous shoe for the first-timer. This shoe lasted me a grand total of one week (my first week on pointe) before my ballet teacher sent me to replace them with Grishkos. The shank and box were very, very soft, though they did conform nicely to my wide foot. The shank is ideal for a lower/beginning arch, and some people might appreciate the medium platform. The color is odd- like a gold or yellow, not at all like the picture. The shoe's tapered form is very attractive, though.

EH...OKAY SHOE
This is my first pair of pointe shoes, and I think they are wonderful. There's only two problems, though:
1. The box is WAY too soft.
2. The color is kinda weird (orangish)!
I have a high arch on pointe, and even though the high arch is considered the 'weak foot' in pointe, I have a decently strong foot. And these shoes wear out fast! I just bought them in May, and I already need another pair! I'm going to have to wait until after my December recital until I can get another pair, though. I think these shoes are great for beginners, but if you have a strong and trained foot, this shoe is DEFINITELY not for you! Also, if you have a wide foot, I would not recommend these shoes. They are very narrow! And if your teacher doesn't like orange pointe shoes on the stage, then don't get these. I don't think I will get these shoes again, because I actually have a wider foot than the shoe. But my instructor thought that these shoes looked better on my foot than Mirellas, which I wanted. That's what I'm going to get next time.

SECOND GENERATION OF HAPPY DANCERS
I used these shoes when I was dancing. I first wore Capezio, but after having my daughter they were no longer comfortable. I switched to Chacotts at that point and had never been happier with a pair of pointe shoes. Now my daughter is dancing en pointe. She has gone through 3 previous pairs of shoes (Capezio-ok, Grishko-horrible for her, and Bloch-ok but not wonderful). She tried on an old pair of mine that she found in the closet and said she loved them, although they were not the correct size for her. When we went in to get her fit for new shoes she asked if she could try the Chacotts. I said sure, but did not tell her why I liked them because I wanted her to make up her own mind. She tried them on and absolutely loved them and her feet look gorgeous in them. She does not have the best arch but you wouldn't know that by looking at her dance in these shoes. When I asked her why she liked them so much she said it was because of the way the box felt. Funny how she likes them for the same reason I did. My younger daughter will be starting pointe in the next year. We'll see if she picks these shoes also.

BRILLIANT!!!
These shoes were amazing!!! I have a very good point and these shoes accentuated it very well. I almost looked like Alessandra Ferri's. The only thing I have to say is that they die really fast for people that have a good arch. But, the plus is that they're good fouette and pirouette shoes. Love Chacott's!!!

I LOVED THESE SHOES!
These where my fist pair of pointe shoes, and I LOVED them! I have narrow feet, but I don't have the best or the strongest arch. But when I broke these shoes in they looked BEAUTIFUL on my feet! These lasted a pretty long time. I loved these shoes so much I got them as a second pair, too! By then my arch was much stronger so I went through them pretty fast. I recommend these shoes for your first pair of pointe shoes! The only thing I don't like about these shoes is that they have a weird coloring on them, but they are still so beautiful when you break them in :) They actually look even better when you're on stage! These are Amazing shoes! :) Totally worth it!

GREAT LOOKING FOOT, NICE FIT.
Everyone tells me what a GREAT looking foot I have, nice arch, etc. for my pointe work, when wearing the Chacott shoes. I bought a pair of medium shank Chacotts, which I have worn out and another brand of pointe shoes, which are pretty worn also. I like the other brand, but the Chacott's are just simply a better fit through the shank and heel. The Chacott's are very comfortable, if you can believe that in a pointe shoe...but, seriously they are. I am not buying the other brand again, just 2 new pair of Chacott's. I have a mature foot.

NICE AND COMFY, BUT THE BOX IS TOO SOFT
These pointe shoes are really, really soft! If you have a hard time breaking in shoes, then these are the shoe for you. If you wear out shoes fast, these are NOT the shoe for you. Everyone's foot is different-- as for me, I don't think I'll buy these again. I'm planning on using lots of Jet-Glue on these so maybe that will help. Oh and by the way, the color is kind of a bizarre orange.

AWESOME
Best pointe shoe I've ever had. I have a moderate arch and fairly weak ankles although I have been on pointe for almost 6 years. However, these pointes have strengthened my feet so much and perfectly fit my medium/wide size 6 1/2 feet. Although yes, they do wear out quickly, especially the medium shanks, they are completely worth it if you want a shoe that comfortably flatters your feet while making pointe easier if your ankles are not great.

A RELIEF FROM SUPER-HARD POINTE SHOES!
After about five pairs of Bloch Sonatas, I got very frustrated because though I don't have the greatest arch, they still weren't flexible enough for me. As soon as I tried on the Chacotts they felt perfect. I got the hard shank because the medium one was too flexible, even for me! I've worn them three times a week for about two months, and they aren't worn down at all, and are super comfortable. The only thing not absolutely perfect is that mine bend closer to the ball of my foot than my heel. A nice flexible shoe!

NOT VERY GOOD
I have been on pointe for about 3 years and I had gone with Grishko for my first and second pairs of pointe shoes. The Grishkos worked great for me and fit me well and then all of a sudden when i went to get new point shoes none of the sizes fit me. So they tried these shoes on me and they made my feet look beautiful and I could easily get on pointe. I bought these shoes and after my first class on them they became soft. I have pretty strong feet and a good arch, but my feet are narrow and long. A lot of the pressure was on my big toe and it felt as if a knife was going through my toe. By my second class the pain was unbearable. I would suggest going with Grishko if you ever had this problem.

I LOVE THESE!
I love these shoes so much!
I am 14 and I've been on pointe for almost four years and I'm really light, so it's hard for me to break-in pointe shoes. But these are a breeze because my first pair were Freeds. Not the best choice for beginners so these are good for your first pair.

WEAR OUT QUICKLY
These pointe shoes are great for people with high arches but they wear out pretty quickly. I bought this pair of pointe shoes for performances and rehearsals only and another pair for regular classes. Wearing pointe shoe covers also helped.

I LOVE THESE SHOES!
I have owned these shoes for about two months now, and they are working so well! I have been dancing for about four years now, and these are the most comfortable pointe shoes that I have ever worn. Who knew that pointe shoes could be so comfortable--and cute!
I have tried many shoes. Grishko and Russians are my favorites, only due to they do not wear as quickly. I have truly enjoyed these Chacotts. Very comfy, great fit, dances well. The down side is, they do tend to "break in" too quickly. Overall, worth the price. Great shoe -- will continue to buy them.

GREAT SHOES!!!
I LOVED these shoes. I have a not-so-flexible arch and they made my arches look great. The only thing is, I'm used to Grishkos so they were very soft in comparison. Also, it is a weird feeling how hard the shank is and how SOFT the box is (I got the full shank ones). The box was dead after doing technique class. Don't try these with just lambswool though . . . it makes your bunions(if you have them) look horrible and also makes them worse. Wear toepads with these shoes, they are too soft to be worn bare.

When I first started pointe I tried a lot of shoes, but the Chacott shoes were the best. I've been on pointe for a year now and used barely three pairs and I have to admit that they do break in a bit too fast.

GREAT SHOE
Wonderful shoes! They are very comfortable and fit fantastically! The only bad thing is that when they break in, they're done (and it doesn't take too long to reach that point). They were perfect while they lasted though! But when they start to go, buy a new pair right away.

BEAUTIFUL SHOE
This shoe is my favorite shoe (next to my Russians). I couldn't find the right shoe until I found these. My feet just looked horrible in all the other shoes that I tried. I don't really like that these shoes die out really quickly though. They are great for performances, but I wouldn't recommend them for class use, unless you are willing to replace them every month or two. Oh and the color is so cute!

These shoes are very comfortable, but die very easily.

I used to wear these and I had them for about 2 years. After wearing them for technique class once, they were dead. Also, the shank bent in a funny place which made the shoe look weird.

GREAT!
I have been dancing on pointe for 3 years now and this is by far the best shoe I've had. They shape perfectly to my not so perfect feet and make them look great. My teacher loved them and now 3 other girls in my classes have them. I have improved so much on pointe with these shoes.

FINALLY!!
I am a beginner student and was having such a frustrating time finding pointes that were comfortable & fit well. These shoes are amazing. The wingless box are perfect for my bunions and since they are a softer shoe, I can get over my box a lot easier. Love them!!

This is a great fitting shoe, however the box breaks down much faster than the shanks.

DON'T LAST LONG!
I have a wide short foot and these are very flattering! I do 8 hours of pointe a week and these shoes lasted 2-3 weeks. You don't really get the bang for your buck. I have a very high arch which became extremely tight and sore. The box wears out quickly. These are a good pair of performance shoes. They really elongate the leg while on pointe, making the line look very, very nice; but I wouldn't suggest them for every day.

FANTASTIC FOR BUNIONS!
I have major bunions by my big toes, so it's hard to find a shoe that doesn't cause pain. This is totally my perfect shoe! I recommend it for anyone with bunions because the box still supports your toes but it's wingless so it doesn't press on your joints. It's true that they don't last long, but if regular pointe shoes cause you pain, it's worth it! You won't regret it. Plus, they're pretty for any width foot, and just about any kind of arch.

SOFT AND QUIET, BUT SHORT LIVED
This is the softest, most comfortable pointe shoe I've ever worn. It requires little, if any, break in. If you like a soft shoe for adagio, this is a great one to try. If you like your shoes to last a long time, don't bother.

ballerina713pointe 02/03/2015 Age: 17 or under What does C; D; E; stand for?
C, D, and E are the options for the width of this shoe. - DDS Customer Service (02/05/2015)
A medium shank is slightly more pliable than a hard shank. A "medium" is the equivalent of most "regular" shanks. - DDS Customer Service (08/05/2013)
I don't know about your feet, but I have strong feet, so the medium shank is really soft. These shoes are really comfortable but not very hard. I am going to jet glue my shoes so they will last longer. - Ballerina14 (07/08/2014)
Is comparable to a super soft/soft shank in most other conventional pointe shoe brands. - Yulia (07/15/2014)
