I've used studio pros for about 2 years and I have really loved them! They mold to my feet very well which makes it better to role through my feet and truly feel the floor! I also love how quiet they are when jumping. They do get soft relatively fast especially during performance seasons but overall they have been the best shoe for me.

Love the three quarter shank. Light, mold to your feet. Love the angle on to pointe. They won't last forever but they are easy to dance in and make my feet look fantastic.

MD03/23/2022ENJOYING THESE SHOES!
I used to wear these shoes when I was first starting out on pointe, then I switched to Gaynor Minden, and now I'm switching back and honestly love them so much more than I thought I would! I barely have to break them in, they fit my feet super well, and they have a perfect balance of stability and softness.

These shoes are great for all! I am a Pre-Professional dancer and these are great for lots of hours in the studio, especially Nutcracker! Even though they die relatively fast, they are great for dancing! I am a women’s size 7.5/8 and I wear size 5 EE in these shoes.

Well made, fast shipping. Pretty durable for Freeds. I customize mine a little bit by cutting the shank and jet gluing the inside of the box, but overall they stand up to hours of dancing very well.

Mrswsandman09/09/2018 Rensselaer,NYMY DAUGHTER LOVES THESE SHOES.
I bought these shoes for my daughter who is a dance teacher in Massachusetts and starting the new Fall season. She's been wearing Freed Studio Professionals for many years while dancing at the Albany school she was with and then touring with their company. These shoes seem to last the longest for her even though she can break them within a month of so of teaching classes. These shoes fit her so perfectly that she only uses elastics to hold them on. I'm happy to see there is a rewards program where I can earn dollars to help her by buying shoes, tights, etc. she needs for teaching. Thanks, Discount Dance!

Anonymous02/28/2018LOOK BEAUTIFUL AND NO PAIN!!
After a little over one year on pointe, my feet changed and strengthened and I was no longer happy with my Bloch Balance Europeans. So we started looking for a different, more advanced pair. I tried at least 4 other styles before these Freed Studio Pros. They look SO beautiful and make dancing much easier and pain-free. And my mom is happy that I don't need nightly ice or epsom salt soaks and massages! All this makes the extra cost SO worth it. I am so thrilled to have found these shoes after trying so many others. I have an Egyptian style foot, with a wider forefoot but slightly tapered toes. And these shoes work great! This is my third year on pointe and I think I may have found my forever shoe, or at least until I am closer to being professional. We do shellac and sometimes jet glue them after 3 classes or so and they end up lasting about 2 weeks. However, I do take pointe class 6 times per week, as well as one private class per week. They may last longer for others.

I was fitted for these pointe shoes and I loved them! They were hard enough and gave me a lot of support. I was wearing the Bloch Heritage and the shank was not nearly strong enough for me. I have pretty strong feet. After my 2nd class in these shoes, they broke in for me and the felt good. By the 4th class they were going a bit soft and by the 6th class they were completely dead! I felt that the shoe was becoming mushy in the box and I could not support myself being on pointe anymore. Overall, I think I will have to go back to the drawing board because I cannot get a new pair of pointe shoes every week. These shoes were amazing but they just do not last long enough for me. I think I will be trying a pair of Grishko's next!

Before switching to these, I was stuck in a Block European Balance in a hard shank reinforced with jet glue. I was having problems finding a shoe with enough support and when I tried these on in my local dance supply store, these were excellent. I have an incredibly wide and fat foot and I wear a size 6 in street shoes. In this, I'm wearing a 3.5 EE in a hard shank, I also had an extra sock sole added to both shoes. I've had these for about two weeks and with being on them 2 hours a day for 5 days a week, and I'm about to replace this pair.
I love these shoes so far and plan on purchasing a few of them for this semester of school. The high wing is excellent, especially as someone who struggle to find shoes that will support their whole foot. The shank is hard at first, but after working in them at the barre for about an hour, it was pliable enough to really work the foot, and with a little help from water on the vamp, the three-quarter pointe softened right up. The outer sole isn't too thick so there isn't too much wobbling going on. I have a few complaints though. The first would be the fact that the inner sole moves around in the shoes as you sweat. It started rolling and the glue was coming up after the first class. I reglued it my self, but it's still very lumpy. The second would be the platform. It felt very curved and I often found myself in a weird place of either rolling over the box or not being able to get over the box completely. I darned the tips to correct this, which I won't mind doing for the nex pair. I would also be a little wary of your sizing and depending on the kind of toepads you use, if it's minimal go a half size down. I use thin ouch-pouch like toepands and I found myself sinking in the shoes or my heel all the way back and the toe of the shoe not laying flat. I added extra sock soles to correct this, but I will be sizing down next time. Overall though, these shoes are excellent. I coula see these as solely performance shoes since they are wearing out so quickly, but I will definitely be investing in these again!

BalletGirly07/01/2015GREAT SHO
I used to wear Grishko 2007s in a 6xxx hard shank. I wear a 6c hard shank in these shoes. I really like these shoes. I don't wear toe pads with them; I just tape my toes and use a little lambs wool in problem spots. They are quite a bit softer than my Grishkos which I realized were propping me up into pointe. You really have to work your feet in these shoes. I like how I can pointe my feet really well because I like to wear my pointe shoes during barre. The vamp is a little high but I just softened it with some water. One thing I don't like about the shoe is the wing block. The wings go all the way to the side seam and I found it painful, but it was easy to fix. I just put water in the wings and now they are soft and don't bug me. Another thing is the insole liner thing moves and bunches up in the shoe. I can't comment on durability as I have only worn these shoes for one class. Overall it is a beautiful shoe and it makes my feet look great.

Emilia121203/16/2014NT QUITE
I got these shoes after a mediocre experience with the studio II's. The first 2 hours they were good. I loved the high wings, wide box and v cut vamp ( I have wide feet). The wings really kept my feet from sickling and made me feel stronger en pointe. However, the 3/4 shank is very hard and made it difficult to flex fully into my arch. I know that freeds have a reputation of dying quickly but these died almost immediately! The platform collapsed inwards after 2 classes and no amount of jet glue could fix it. I had to get a brand new pair of shoes the day after purchasing these. However, these would be great for a one-time-wear performance shoe.

Leah2209/29/2013NICE SHOES, BUT NOT A LONG LIFE
I love these shoes. I used freed Classic's before I switched to the Studio Pros. I absolutely love the change. I have been wearing Freed's for over a year now. They are by far my favorite shoe. However, I find that they don't last very long. I am currently searching for another Freed that is narrower (I already wear the narrowest width in this shoe and now it feels almost to wide once the shoe is broken in.) in width, and has a stronger box and shank. But overall, I really love the shoe!!

xXSaraBearXx03/15/2013SO DEAD, SO FAST
Let's just start out by saying these lasted me like a nano second. The whole shank disappeared. On top of that, the shape is not flattering on any foot what so ever, the box is really bulby and round. Also, I always get tons of cramps in these shoes.

These are great shoes! I have awful feet that hate to pointe and look awful in pointe shoes, but these shoes actually work for me! Since my feet are stupid, it is a little harder for me to break these in because the box is really tough, but i like to cut off the shank where it has the 3/4 cut, and they work a lot better!(: I would definitely recommend these.

I LOVE these shoes, they give a great line, make wide feet look narrower. However, they are very painful to break in because of the extremely hard box and high wings, and once the shank startsto go it goes very quickly. I would not recommend these shoes unless you have very strong feet.

These shoes are amazing. It takes a little bit more work on these to really break them in but it's worth it. It makes it really easy to roll through your feet and get over the box. I have to admit that the box can be painful when you're first breaking them in but after at least two classes the pain is gone. I would highly recommend these.

Lauren11/23/2008 Massachusetts,
These shoes are fabulous to wear. They're great for high cut arches, regardless of the strength of your foot. The 3/4 shank allows you to really break-in the shoes quickly. Although the box is definitely hard at first, using water on the sides helps. They aren't as comfy as the Makers but the platform lasts longer on these than on the Studios. Overall it's a great shoe :)

Abigail03/31/2008 Houston, Tx,THE BEST SHOE OF MY LIFE
As a pre-professional dancer who dances around five hours every day and had been previously wearing the Freed Studio IIs, I was intrigued by these and ordered a pair just for kicks. They were PERFECT for my feet. So much more comfortable and supportive and flattering than the original Studios. I have finally found my sole mate! The only downside is that I have a high arch and strong foot, and had to apply Jet Glue after about four days because they break rather quickly. They last at most, two weeks. That is pushing it. However, they are perfect for performing because they need relatively no breaking in time...just put them on and go! I'm ordering seven more pairs right now ;)

These shoes did make my feet look nice, and they fit well. But for me, the place where the drawstring ties, ripped about a centimeter into the satin! Also, the shanks got REALLY soft really fast. I've only had these shoes for about two weeks and now I need a new pair :-(

I went from Bloch Sonatas to these, and I'm sure glad I did!
The shank really showcases a superior arch, and the "wings" that extend from the toe box really give a dancer great support.
The only flaw would be the shank gets a bit too soft after a while, even if the toe box is intact.
