Very comfortable and stylish. From the "what's my size" it recommending to size up and when it came it was too big. Order your street show size and it should be perfect. Very fun and good shoe otherwise!

I had previously purchased these shoes in black and white over a year ago. I wore them to teach my community dance classes almost every week. They are so comfortable and give my feet support for all kinds of dancing. When I accidently left them at a venue several weeks ago I really missed not having them to wear for my classes......so when I saw the email about a shoe sale I ordered another pair and they arrived very quickly! They are comfortable right out of the packaging!!

I love this shoe. Its construction and cushioning seem great. I have no idea about durability, since I had to return them. I ordered a size up, but they were still too short and narrow. I wish dance shoes came in wide widths.

Be sure to check the size chart. I purchased size 16. Normal size is mens size 11. The fit is OK. I would prefer a little more room in the toe box and a heel that is a bit more snug, but overall the fit is good. I lace them up real tight.
The insole provides a little cushioning. The shoe is OK for a few hours of dancing.
The heel is low and doesn't have a lot of cushion. I like this for stability.
I have a pair of similar style shoes with a very soft, cushy sole and larger, soft heel. Although initially very comfortable, I don't like them because the cushioning provides less control and floor feel.
The brushed leather sole is good for the wood floors that I'm usually on. The right amount of grip, doesn't stick to the floor or slide around. I'm primarily a swing dancer, also a little ballroom.
Overall, this shoe is a very good value in comparison to similar sneaker-jazz style shoes.

I have been using these shoes for about 5 years for line dancing. They are very comfortable and don't require any break-in. The size runs VERY small, a USA 10.5 men's shoe equates to a size 17 for me. Have recommended these to many dancers.

Do not be misled. If you go by their size chart you will receive a perfect fit.
I love them so much that years later, and they have held up for over seven years ( with new insoles) they still work wonderfully well.
No issues. Easy to clean. And the suede is now like "glass" so gliding is easy.
Too bad they don't carry another purple pair.
Measure your feet. OR go by your perfect sneaker size. Then choose your size according to their size chart.

These shoes are 1-2 inches shorter in length than my size 8 shoe that website recommended I should get. Definitely needed to size up but website showing size 9 not in stock and not available for back order. So now lose 6 bucks because have to return. Too bad. These are cute and I think would be comfortable.

I ordered 2 sizes up and the shoe sneaker still didn't fit.
Sorry guys, this is ridiculous. Figure out PROPER SIZING, get it right. This is nothing more than sheer stupidity on your manufacturing end.
I believe it would be a comfortable piece of footwear for dance class, but how would I know if I can't get it on my foot?
Thank you for choosing Discount Dance for your dancewear needs. I apologize for the confusion or inconvenience of the sizing issue. This brand has their own size and the sizing chart can be found under the "fit and sizing" tab. If you are still having difficulties, please feel free to reach out to us for assistance. The Salsette is a cushy, comfortable, flexible, sneaker with a suede sole which turns out to be perfect for ballroom dance practice. My husband and I are both senior citizens and really appreciate the comfort and stability provided by these shoes. He ordered a black pair last month, but I waited for a white pair to become available.
The Salsette does run quite a lot smaller than American shoe sizes, especially for men. My husband wears size 13, so I ordered size 15, 2 sizes up after reading the reviews about sizing for women's shoes. I read the size chart after the fact, and the courteous representative helped me to smoothly exchange for the recommended size 18. They fit pretty well though somewhat snug. I'm going to order a size 19 for him, because he has a deformed toe nail on one foot, and because of the great cushioning, a little more room can't hurt.
I wear size 6.5 wide US, and ordered size 8. The fit is nearly perfect. I've gotten used to wearing shoes that are a little too long when I can only get them in a medium width.

This is a nice-looking shoe, but I am returning it. I used the sizing tool on the website, putting in my size 9D in a well-known shoe brand which is very comfortable. It told me I would wear a size 10 in this shoe. To be on the safe side, I ordered a size 11, since I saw it says on the item that it tends to run small. The size 11 was super tight, and very short. I could almost not get it on my foot. So now I have to return it and order a bigger size, and pay the 5.95 "label fee". Seems that this is an error on the part of the seller, and should be a free return, since I was careful and used the advice provided on the website. I am debating if I need now to order one size bigger or two?

I'd say these are a good value for the price. They're cute (I got the purple), nice and roomy in the toebox (I wear a thin pair of toe sox) and if you lace them up nice and tight they'll give you a bit of arch support and cushion when you dance. If you want something between a basic dance shoe and a true dance sneaker that is less bulky, you will probably like these. I'm a size 9 to 9.5 women's and the size 14M worked for me.

I looked around quite a bit for dance sneakers until I found these. I took a chance, because shoes can be a problem for me (wide and flat feet, among other issues). These shoes are SO COMFORTABLE!! I can only review on the sizing at this point. Order your street shoe size. Mine finally arrived today, after the first order cancelled, although online stated the color was available. I opened the package and knew immediately the pair would be too large. I wear 6.5 and the sizing states to order size 8. I will order 7. I hate the fact I have to pay for shipping, when this is not my error.

I got these shoes to intermix with my other practice ballroom shoes when I didn't feel like wearing any type of heel. I would have given them 3 stars, but I gave them a 4 because of the price (which is hard to beat). I wear an 8-8.5 normally depending on the brand, type of shoe, etc. Following the Sansha Sizing chart I ordered a 9, which fit snug, though if you like your shoes looser, I would go with the 10. I needed more arch support so I got some dr scholls inserts for that, and they are now quite comfortable. The heel backing is a little low for my tastes, and at first I thought my foot might slip out, but it works and it's easy to point the foot. The suede sole on the front half works the same as in normal ballroom shoes, making spinning and dancing much easier than if one tried it in street shoes. The rubber heel (feels like a hard foam) made heel leads a bit different, but it was easy to get use too. They've lasted a couple hundred hours of dancing for the last several months and are still in good condition so far. Definitely not for rough floors or outdoors though, that would destroy them. Overall I would say they are worth the base price, and I do not regret my purchase.

I have had these for a year now for hip hop class. As a female, I ordered my street size, and they fit perfectly, but I am an adult, so my feet aren't growing and I like tight shoes! I'm going to be ordering these for my son for break dancing. He's in size 5 women's, 3 boys, so I will probably go with the 6 so he has room to grow.

I had originally ordered Capezio dance sneakers for my dance team performances at college, but the heel was simply too high and I ended up spraining my ankle by wearing them. Just rec'd these. They are required for my daughter. Season starts next month. I can only rate how the shoe fits as it's not being used yet. My daughter is a 2 in street shoe. I ordered her a 5 and it's do-able but she would have been better off in a 4 (not paying to return them!). I was also unaware (nothing in the description states this) that they are for "indoor use only". The dance coach always has them in dance gym shoes for field and outdoor practice until the weather gets too cold. She wants to stick with these this year. We'll see how they hold up.

I now have several colors in this shoe. I teach dance and I use it for Ballroom, Swing, Latin, Country, Hustle, Line, and Zumba. I have ordered many colors for all of my students. These shoes do run 1.5 to 2 sizes small. The suede sole is great but I do agree that it wears out quickly. You can resole these yourself. I bought the suede material and glue (DC2000) at local crafts store, made a paper pattern to use for cutting the shape and glued it on. Place a heavy book on it for overnight drying and ready to go again.

I have large/wide feet and I have a hard time finding a shoe that fits. These come in wide and larger sizes! So even one of the guys on the dance team was able to find them in his size. And it has a nice wide round toe area that won't hurt.
With the suede sole, you have a good glide without the torgue on your knees while doing turns and pivots. I use them for Ballroom, Swing, Country Western, Latin. One of my friends wear them while teaching Line Dances. And they come in different colors. Love my purple ones.

I bought these to teach Zumba in. I teach on carpeting so it is definitely not an ideal situation. The suede bottom is perfect for movement and does not catch on the carpet. I haven't tried them out at the dance studio yet but I like the quality of the suede and do not foresee a problem. If you have a narrow foot like mine, the front part of the shoe may be a little big. Overall, it was a great fit and I like the thinner bottom and arch support. (*Note: I am also a ballroom instructor/ballet instructor so I prefer the thinner bottom as it is closer to what I am used to dancing in but needed the arch support of a dance sneaker. If you are used to the thicker bottom like many hip hop/fitness/Zumba shoes the thinner bottom may not feel supportive enough for you).

Although many M.E. dancers go barefoot in class, I need a shoe for my sensitive feet. I had a hard time finding something with a nice smooth sole without a bunch of pleats right under the ball of my foot. These shoes are perfect! The suede sole is smooth and flat, not grippy, so I can turn easily without knee stress. The slight heel helps ward off my plantar fasciitis problems. Because they lace up I can adjust their tightness easily. The one caveat is that they do wear out more quickly than the leather jazz shoes I have owned... but that's okay. I just keep a backup pair on hand.
