Great Tap Shoes!01/15/2021 Rustburg,VA
Beautiful sound to these tap shoes! They are leather so I'm hoping they will hold up well under regular use. Since they are leather and a softer finish, they scratch but it doesn't show from a distance. Daughter says they are incredibly comfortable. She wears a youth size 1.5 or 2 and we ordered these in adult size 4 and they are a great fit!

Z01/22/2020VERY COMFORTABLE, SIZE RUNS LARGE
After being in split sole tap shoes for years I decided to get a new pair and try full sole as I've heard they're supposed to be better. They're very comfortable and have a really nice sound. I'm a 7.5 street shoe but in these shoes a 7.5 was too big. Ended up returning and getting size 7 which fit great, just need to break them in!

I previously used Bloch Tap Flex, which I loved and I tapped in them really well. My studio made the transition from split sole to full sole tap shoes for my level this year, and due to the affordability and some reviews of the shoe, and a friend of mine using them and thinks they're ok, I decided to buy it. And boy did I make a mistake.
Where do I begin with this shoe. I think first and foremost, these shoes are very, very hard to tap in. I can not, for the life of me, do a toe stand in these shoes, and it's quite embarrassing when I have a toe stand turn in one of my recital tap routines and I'm the only that can't do it, solely because of these shoes. The toe of this shoe is very flexible, which is OK, I guess, but it adds no support to the toes which makes the shoe collapse when I attempt a toe stand. The shoe isn't very loud and whenever my teacher makes us perform a tap step by ourselves, so she can hear our sounds and if we're doing it correctly, she always says that I have to be louder, when it's not me it's the shoe. And lastly, which is another huge problem, they slip off my heel. I can almost correct this with a heel gripper on the inside of my shoe and if I tie them just tight enough, but I don't want to have to make this shoe a bigger investment than it derserves to be.
The only saving grace this shoe has that it is a roomy shoe, and is supportive to my very wide foot.
All in all, do not buy this shoe. I bought it as a cheap route without having to spend a lot of money on a shoe, when I just didn't have the money. I got these thinking they were a cheaper version of Jason Samuel Smiths, and I was wrong and right. They have the look and style of the JSSs' but are lacking in everything else. Never going to get this shoe again and plan to buy the JSS the next time I am able to.

I would not recommend these. They are extremely hard to use, you have to tap extremely hard to hear clear sounds.
Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with these shoes. We will address the issue with the manufacturer and make them aware of the feedback we've received. One of our Customer Service representatives will contact you to rectify the situation shortly.

It's hard to find tap shoes in the mid range between cheapies and professional shoes, upwards of a Jason Samuels Smith or even better. We tried these shoes because it's one of the only options in the 70 to 80 dollar range, but we are having lots of issues with them. The ankle is just way to wide for all of my girls, and so no matter the size, if they fit great or not, the heel is slipping out the shoe. Some of the girls have brand new shoes but we are going to order a Capezio CG19 to see if that will work better. I worry they are building bad habits just trying to clench the shoe to their foot. Especially during tricks, like wings, pickups, and toe stands, the shoe is falling off their foot! It's not that the shoe is too big, but the ankle is just made for a wider foot. I have an adult student that loves hers and has no issues. So maybe better for adults, but not students still growing.

dancemadre04/24/2015OOOO.... THIS IS A PRETTY SHOE WITH...
This is the luxury shoe for all mid-to-advanced tappers. Even right out of the box it inspired jealousy and made me wish for a minute that I was the tapper who would get to wear these. The smell was delighful, the construction top notch, and the tapping resonation was so clear and crisp! The leather feels great in the hand. This is an upgrade for us from the Audeo's and you can definitely feel it. You won't go wrong with this shoe!

TessaBV02/09/2015COMFORTABLE WITH GREAT SOUND
I've been dancing for twelve years and teaching for two and I think these are my favorite shoes thus far. I bought these after I decided that my split soles had reached a point where they were hindering me rather than helping me. These shoes sounded fantastic and helped to force me into hitting each and every sound as clearly as possible.
They are extremely comfortable after you break them in and they wear with grace, showing minimal scratching and stretching after over a year of intense work. I would 100% recommend these shoes to anyone.

Anna202/05/2015COMFORTABLE & GOOD LOOKING, BUT BAD FOR...
This shoe is very roomy. I am a 6.5 with a wider foot, and I lace these all of the way shut. I ordered this in the same size as my TapFlex shoes; 7, and they fit pretty good. I may have been able to go a 1/2 size down, but the 7 is not at all too big. The size suggestion says order 1 whole size up. I don't recommend that at all. I recommend 1/2 size if you have a wider foot, and perhaps same as street if you are medium width or narrow. Narrow feet should perhaps avoid this shoe altogether!
The shoe is not split sole, but has a very flexible demi-pointe. This is good for pirouettes and maybe pullbacks, but that is all.It is terrible for toe stands. I'm surprised I haven't seen a single review stating this. I can do a toe stand in pretty much any shoe, and every tap shoe I've ever had, but I can only barely do them in these. The problem is that unless you have a very strong foot you can't get completely onto the tip of this shoe, because no matter how hard you try you can't keep the shoe straight enough, since it bends very easily right behind the front tap. Gravity and this shoe are working against you. I can do a sort-of toe stand on the back edge of the shoe for a little bit, pointing my feet very hard and bending my knees excessively, but forget any other kind of toe work.
I love everything else about the shoe, but I will have to continue the perfect tap shoe hunt, and save these for teaching.

Inga09/20/2013COMFORTABLE TAP SHOE
Comfort and good fit are my priority in any shoe and even more so with dance shoes. They run a bit small so I ordered a half and whole size larger pair. The half size larger fit perfectly and a fellow tapper found the other size fit her. So with two happy tappers I did not have to return the larger shoes. The shoes are well made, soft, and comfortable right from the first dance class.

Beginnertapdancer09/07/2013SADLY, THE SHOES DIDN'T FIT
I wear a 6.5 in street shoe (and 6.5 in Capezio tap shoes), but based on the advice in the description and other reviews I ordered up in size, getting 7's. The 7's were huge so I returned them and got 6's and 5.5's. The 6's were still too big - my heels slipped out the back - and the 5.5's were too tiny. So, sadly, I had to return them all.

I've never had such a comfortable pair of tap shoes. The lining is wonderful, and I love that the top of the heel is notched where your achilles tendon is - EVERY shoe should have that feature. I would say order 1 size up from street size. I did order these on clearance in the Narrow, and I'm afraid the medium width would not work at all for a narrow foot, because even the Narrow wasn't all that narrow...But if you have a medium to wider foot, you will LOVE these!

I have been a fan of BLOCH shoes - tap, jazz, ballet, etc. and have always worn the jazz taps. This year I tried the Oxfords and fell in love with them after ONE class! However, I do agree about the flying screws and taps. After 3 classes my taps were coming very loose and I lost 2-3 screws. I do not like gluing or filling the holes as it really damages the sound of the taps, but for the price I love them. Great soft leather upper, the inside is soft and fleecy feeling and I love the Shockwave Taps!!! I would recommend these for more advanced Tappers just because they are tough to break in. I LOVE BLOCH!

These Shoes are So soft on the inside, they will be a little hard to tap in if you are used to wearing split sole taps, BUT once you learn to tap in them they create beautiful crisp sounds, and they're loud too!

Received them a couple weeks ago. Very comfortable. Fitting suggestion right on target. Better sounds than flex soles. Toe stands definitely harder because of non flexible sole. But as a pointe student, they are getting easier as the shoes get broken in.

Lin for Darby 12/26/2016 Pembroke Pnes-fl Age: 15 to 18 Sizing for my daughter
My daughter wears size 8 shoe, has a narrow foot. Her dance teacher believes she should buy the tie shoes. She also recommends the Respect as the sound is better. So what size should I order. Thank you for your help.
Hello! Thank you for contacting us. For these shoes, we recommend the same street shoe size. - DDS Customer Service (01/03/2017)
I have pretty wide feet, but they're also kind of small (length wise). A size 7.5 jazz shoe fits me like a glove. Would I be safe ordering the same size for this shoe, or are they too different?
We always suggest you follow the sizing guide on the product page. This item suggests the same as street shoe or a size larger. If you have a wider foot you might want to go up. Please know these are just sizing suggestions, they are not guaranteed. - DDS Customer Service (06/29/2015)
Anna2 08/28/2014 Baltimore, Md Age: 18 to 24 Does this shoe run differently than other Bloch tap shoes?
I'm a 7M in the TapFlex shoes. Do these run any smaller or larger or should it be the same? Anyone have experience with multiple Bloch tap shoes?
The sizing suggestion for the Tap Flex is to order the same to ? size larger than your street shoe. The suggestion for the Respect shoes is to order the same to one whole size larger than your street shoe. Please note, sizing cannot be guaranteed and actual fit may vary. - DDS Customer Service (08/29/2014)
