This is an all-time favorite of mine. I'm 35, so I've test driven lots and lots of shoes over the years. Whether I'm at the barre or on stage, these shoes feel like they are a part of me. I will warn buyers that they do run small. In Bloch slippers, I am usually a 6C. For this shoe, I ended up going with a 6.5C, and it fits great. Any smaller, and I would have worn it out in no time flat.
Happy dancing!

momalley8710/27/2015FIRST SHOES SINCE CHILDHOOD
I was very nervous buying my first pair of shoes in 15 years, especially online. I chose these for the overall look and some light research that I did prior to purchasing. I wore them for the first time last night and they were great. They moved and fit well. I look forward to breaking them in.
I followed the shoe sizing guide and got a 7 (my street shoe size is a 9). I feel as though there might be a little too much room in the toe, but it's only when I point. The good news is I'm just taking recreational classes and if I want to get refitted I will find an actual store. However, I appreciate the price online and the shipping was faster than expected!
The leather upper in these shoes is amazingly soft and supple, and I love the the crossed straps - they feel much more secure than a single strap.
Because the leather is so soft, you can probably size down a little and still get a good fit. I wear a street 7.5 or 8 wide, ordered a 5.5 and sized up in width to a C, and make up for any extra width room in the shoe by cranking down on the elastic, but that can be a little uncomfortable at the back of the heel after a long class. I probably could have gone with a 5B, or at least it would have been good to order both sizes to try on.
I find the placement of the heel sole patch on the bottom of the shoe is placed further forward than where my heel strikes. It's a bit thick with all the stitching, and sometimes it feels a little uncomfortable, like the bone in the heel of my foot is getting pinched on the seam of the sole patch.
They're slippery on first wear. Might want to rough them up a little!
Still, I'm very happy with these slippers. I like the color and they're great for my beginner level, offer more protection for my toes against floor friction than lyrical shoes!
It's very hard to order dance shoes over the web for my ten year old who has narrow feet, but a long big toe without trying them on. The reviews were very helpful and I can honestly say the shoes fit perfectly. These are very nice quality, nice looking ballet slippers. They fit the foot and look lovely on. I love the elastics being further up on the foot/ankle and that they were attached already. Love the choice of width's as well. The studio brand my kiddo's studio sells are much too wide for her. As always Bloch is a reputable brand. Would highly recommend.

Lauren62208/20/2012FAVORITE LEATHER SHOE
As much as I'm not a huge fan of leather shoes, these are great! They are super comfortable and easy to dance in. They are really supportive and great for turning. They form to your foot, not as well as canvas, but more than any other leather shoe I've had. I'm a street size 7 and the 5.5 fits me perfectly! Although, I probably should have gotten the B instead of the C because they are a little bit too wide. I definitely recommend these!

blochdancer05/08/2012GREAT BUY
I love these shoes. They were recommended to me by my ballet instructor. I am a beginner with just over a year's experience so they are fine for me. I find that they protect my feet from the wooden floor so I don't get any blisters, etc. I love the feel and look of them. The leather is really thick and supple. The canvas insert also is durable. Sometimes I wear socks under them because I ordered them a size too large by mistake (still learning the ropes of ballet!) but I plan to order another pair in pink. ( My original pair was in white which is gorgeous). For sizing, I am a 7- 7.5 and I am a 5. Hope this helps. It is the same for the- Dansoft: The Dansoft II shoe also is great but not as nice and luxurious as this one!

SHDancer04/21/2012GOOD AT FIRST, BUT FELL APART
After owning these for a year, they have just fallen apart. I dance only 3-4 times a week, and would not have expected this. My worst complaint was that the leather by the toe detached completely from the sole at the front. The glue holding the sole to the shoe completely dissolved and I wasn't able to sew the two parts back together. Also, where the elastic is pre- sewn, it started to split and break. They also got dirty quickly, but I didn't mind that so much.

I always get these ballet shoes from Capezio stores and I love them. They last for a long time: about 2 years each pair. They can get really dirty though. Love em.
I LOVE these shoes, they have a great turning surface and the leather makes them fit like a glove. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the bottom does get a little bunchy at times, but that might be because I haven't sewn my elastics on yet. Oh and DDS, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE carry the A width! I had to buy these at my studio because DDS didn't have the A width, but my studio has a 20% discount for their students, so it was almost the same price as buying here, except no shipping and handling. =)
I absolutely love these. The softest leather and very comfortable. Made my foot look fantastic. I wish Discount Dance carried them in A width.

Layla12/11/2008 Oakland, Ca,AWESOME SHOES!
I love these shoes! I've tried the Bloch Pump, the Capezio Juliet and the Sansha Pro, and these are by far my favorite. I have a narrow foot and these fit perfectly, no bunching at the arch or around the toe. They're so comfortable I never want to take them off.

Sadie07/20/2008A BEAUTIFUL BALLET SLIPPER
I love this ballet slipper! It is comfortable and requires little to no wearing in! It is a lovely colour as well. The leather is so soft. Overall, what a wonderful shoe! Thank you Bloch!
I really love these flats. The leather is a very pretty pink, which, though it doesn't match my tights perfectly, looks very nice from a distance. The leather fits very well to my feet. I wear a 6.5C in these, although my street shoes are usually a size 9 and my feet are a bit wide. I don't think that these are meant for narrow feet at all! They fit very well on wider feet. I wish, however, that the makers hadn't begun to pre-sew crisscross elastics. I preferred it when they gave you one non-attached piece of elastic for each shoe for those who prefer not to crisscross their elastics. They do, however, fit even better when elastics are crossed. I would definitely recommend these shoes.

Justine05/23/2008ALRIGHT...
These are fairly nice shoes, however, the leather tends to be very thick, which makes your feet VERY sweaty. Also, the elastic seems to break easily. The bottom parts (grips), become loose very easily, especially when you roll through the tendu, so these shoes are not very good for professional work.

Dancer80102/17/2008 Cincinnati,LOVE THEM!
I have always bought these shoes and they work great! I have super flat feet (so flat that I have to wear custom-made orthotics because it was affecting my knees) and these shoes are fabulous for flat feet. I wear a size 7C. My teacher told me to buy a canvas shoe next time we get ballet... and I love these so much that I am not looking forward to it.

Allyson01/28/2008 Indiana,I LIKE THEM
I've had my pair for almost two years now and they have only one slit on the toe of each shoe. I was impressed that they have been so durable. The color does wear off, but that doesn't bother me at all. The fit around the arch is pretty good. I have flat feet though, so there isn't a lot to deal with. I also have a narrow heel with a slightly wider toe and these shoes fit me well. Definitely a shoe for narrow feet. The split sole Blochs definitely make my feet look better than full sole! The insoles on both my shoes are completely detached at this point, and they bunch to where I have to take them off and fix them about half way through barre, but they only started that about a year after I had them. I just don't want to get new ones yet! Overall, this is a good quality shoe that is durable and reasonably priced.

Heatherlysue10/16/2007PROLITE VS PUMP
Well, I've worn through 2 pairs of Bloch pumps in leather, I just bought a pair of the prolite for a change. Prolite gaps at my instep a bit. The suede heel is more substantial in the prolite than pump. I prefer to criss-cross my elastics and pumps are happily pre-sewn. I think overall I do prefer the pump style.

Ballet Vixen09/29/2006 Los Angeles,LIKE THEM VERY MUCH
I switched to these after my canvas slippers were ripping up only after a few months of dancing. I'm on my second pair of these right now and these last about a year, compared to two months with canvas. I like the larger and rounder sole, it's much more easier and more stable to do pirouettes on. The split sole helped me point my feet better. My only complaint would be that the front edge of the slipper tends to rub down on the floor in front of the sole and acted like a "brake" on my turns.

What does the B, C and D stand for?
Not sure if my daughter is a size adult 5 B, C or D?!
The letters are the widths we carry.
B - narrow
C - regular
D - wide - DDS Customer Service (01/12/2016)
Dancing Nicky 08/20/2013 Miami, Fl, Usa Age: 18 to 24 Does this fitting of this shoe follow the sizing of a pointe shoe? For example I am 7.5 C in pointe
All of our shoes, even if they are the same brand or style, are sized individually. We give the size suggestion based off of street shoe as we find that is the most reliable shoe to size. The suggested fit for this shoe is to order 3 sizes smaller than your regular street size. - DDS Customer Service (08/21/2013)
