York,PAI got a size medium and I normally wear a 6 1/2 or 7 but my feet are wide so I ordered up a size. The shoe part itself is still a little tight while the band is slightly loose because of me ordering a size up. They'll work but the sizing is strange.

Point Pleasant,NJWe just bought these for the upcoming dance season so I cannot comment on the durability just yet, but my daughter states they are comfortable and she does not mind wearing them. I recommend ordering a size up, two sizes up if you or your child has a wide foot. Based on shoe size my daughter was an XS, they were too tight so we went with a M and have no complaints!!

01/18/2019I have pretty narrow or skinny feet. I am a size 7.5-8 and I ordered a size large. I do not do dance that much, I do an activity called 'colorguard'. Great for a spin but seems a bit uncomfortable. The seams feel a bit weird for my foot even though I am a beginner and that I've never tried on a half-sole before.

Gaylord,MII bought these shoes for my daughter, who dances in a lyrical class. She wore them for 6 hours before they began to develop holes in the canvas. By the time she told me there was a problem, we had to keep using the shoes for her dance recital. It was too late to get new ones. Spend the extra and get leather, or get a different brand altogether. The paws she used in her previous year of lyrical look better after a full year of use than these shoes do after 6 classes and a dance recital.

07/21/2017These are great shoes for a contemporary or lyrical dance class. They are so comfortable and work well for turning.
However, they do run very small. I am normally a size 7 or 7.5 in women's shoes, and I have very narrow feet, but in these, I ordered a medium because I figured that it would be better to have shoes that are too big than too small. They fit very snug and aren't baggy at all.

Clute,TXI ordered these this year for our winter guard in lieu of foot undeez type turners. The covering over the toe is more aesthetically pleasing for a young team still developing a point, and they're holding up well enough so far. Kids complained quite a lot for the first two weeks of breaking them in, and they do squeeze the toe box more than I think they should once they're worn in so I'm not convinced I'll go this way in the future.

Hernando,MSMy daughter has been using this style of shoe for several years for indoor color guard. We have learned that these shoes always run small (at least one size, if not two), so be forewarned if you're buying some for the first time. We've previously purchased another brand (Bloch), but after reading the great reviews on this shoe, I opted to give it a try to save a little money. Big mistake.Keep in mind, the girls wear these while performing on a vinyl mat and only for a couple of hours at a time for rehearsals. After less than two weeks (maybe 5 uses?), they completely fell apart. The canvas shredded around the foot pad and basically disintegrated all around the toes. We had to attach moleskin to the inside just to be able to get through a competition as there was not enough time to get a different pair. I have since gone back to the Bloch shoe we previously used to buy a replacement pair. Not sure if I'll be able to get a refund on the shoes that fell apart, but it was a lesson learned.
Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with these shoes. We will address the issue with the manufacturer and make them aware of this incident. One of our Customer Service representatives will contact you to rectify the situation.

Tallahassee,FLI'm not sure why everyone is hating on these shoes - I love them for lyrical! They do take some breaking in to become adapted to your foot and completely comfortable but what dance shoes don't? Tap shoes need some time to get flexible and used to your foot, same with jazz and especially ballet shoes - hello! These shoes are no different. You can feel where they are stitched on the bottom but I can always feel where my ballet shoes are tied on the top, too, so nothing I'm not used to. For turning and studio use, they are beautiful shoes. As a teacher, I love them. They elongate lines for dancers, save their toes and balls of their feet from callous and they are good for a bare-leg look. I absolutely love them!

Louisville,KYMy daughter wears a size 3.5 in Kids shoes and we ordered her a size Large and they fit perfect. The mediums from last year, the straps dig way into the backs of her feet. I will say that these shoes are only good for 1 year or less. They got a hole in the toe about 10 months after having them. However, we expect to buy new shoes every year and the shoes fit well and are very comfortable.

Orem,UTThese shoes hurt my feet. It was like I was stepping on something, not quite as bad as stepping on a lego, but enough to leave my feet hurting. It was right where the elastic is sewn together at the bottom of the shoe, not quite in the arch. I have not had this problem with the Bloch version of this shoe.

03/26/2016Great and pretty shoe, I haven't yet broke them in, and really turn and stuff on the proper floor but I can tell it will be a great shoe! Also I wear a size 8 (street size) shoe and got a XL to be certain just in case it runs small, and it doesn't, so would recommend sticking to the sizing it shows because it's a little big on me so most likely will be getting another pair, when needed, of the right size.

01/22/2016In previous years of ballet I've stuck to canvas, split sole ballet slippers. Now as a young adult, for some reason, I wasn't able to tolerate the extra fabric under my heels and and toes and it was throwing me off. It could have been the particular brand I was wearing, but I switch to these half-soles by Capezio. They have made such a huge difference in class that even my instructor noticed. Being able to feel the floor has always been a factor for me, even with pointe shoes. The way these slippers are constructed there is very minimal bunching in the toe area from the seams. The canvas portion covers the entire ball of the foot. The elastic that goes around the heal has yet to slip and doesn't irritate. As a size 9 shoe I did have to purchase an XL when I was fitted. They do stretch out and next time I'll most likely get a size L.

11/29/2015I bought this product 3 months ago. I already have two huge holes at the toes and one the sides of the shoe. I wear these twice a week at dance on hardwood floor. I also bought a size large considering I have large feet (10) and they were way to tight. I almost coudnt wear them. I eventually was able to strectched them out and they worked fine but the sizing chart was off when I ordered them.

09/30/2015My lyrical class is switching from the "foot undies" to these shoes either in leather or canvas after less-than-favorable results with the "foot undies" from a variety of brands. These shoes are the answer to my prayers! They are snug and fit on my feet perfectly, though I don't have the elastic strap across the top of my foot like they show. I have both straps around my heel. These shoes allow me to turn comfortably and much easier than before, and I can still feel the ground beneath my feet with my heel and mid-part of my foot free.

08/05/2015When i got this shoe, it was a little bit long, which made my feet look oddly shaped, and the elastic around the toe was tighter than expected. After a couple of lyrical classes, the shoes finally started to get broken in, and now the fit great. I love the heel strap, it doesn't slide off. My street shoe size is 8.5-9.00, and I got the size large.

08/02/2015I totally love these half soles!! I was really excited for lyrical, and needed to find some great half soles, and these meet my high standers! I am size 6 street shoe in womens, and fit in the medium, but the small fit me the best, and a nice snug fit but not to the point were it is tight. They are very comfortable, though after about an hour of dancing the edges cut into my foot a bit, but easily overlooked. The straps stay very well and do not slip at all! Haven't had them long, so I can't comment on durability, but I can say the the double seam, thick straps, and high quality material seems super durable! They are so amazing for turns as well! They make my feet look beautiful! Over all these shoes are my babies! I love them!

07/16/2015This canvas capezio shoe is quite comfortable now that they are stretched out but, at first when i tried them on the left marks on my feet. The more i wore them though they became more broken in but were still tighter than i like. i do highly recommend the leather version of these though, even though they are a few dollars extra it's worth it! The shoe is very durable & i do recommend this product.

03/02/2015I love these shoes for pirouettes and turns. They are snug on your toes, but have enough wiggle room so it's not uncomfortable. A lot of people have been saying that a part of the edge is hurting their foot, but I found just to make sure the seam isn't folded under, and it won't hurt anymore. And also, make sure that your toes are all the way in! That can cause discomfort too, if your toes aren't in all the way. :) Over all I love these.

02/16/2015I bought these shoes about 3 months ago, and the first time I tried them on they felt fine. After about 3 or more uses I started to feel the seam digging into my feet, and after hours of dancing, there would be painful red marks all over the top of my feet where the seam had been laying. Other than the seam, I have plenty of space for my toes, and the sole is great to turn on. A little disappointing, but great shoes otherwise!

02/01/2015These lyrical shoes were perfect and exactly what I was looking for. The "paws" style lyrical shoe is very uncomfortable to me so I was looking for something that slipped over my toes and ball of my foot, I found these and bought the Large size which says for 8.5-9 street size, I am always an 8 regular in street shoes so I suggest unless your foot is narrow get the slightly larger size, and it your foot is wide maybe go one more up. Also in some reviews people were saying the straps were uncomfortable, but I found the opposite to be true. They are perfectly comfortable and durable.

12/24/2014I was so excited to get these, but where the elastic meets in the middle of the bottom of the shoe really hurts your foot. I tried to deal with the pain but pulling the elastic out. But it would only stop the pain from happening so quickly. Needless to say, I'll be searching for another pair. =(

11/09/2014These are good for turning, as they are like a ballet shoe sole. HOWEVER, they are incredibly uncomfortable. I could not wait for class to end so I could take them off! The seam digs into your foot and it is painful and very distracting. I would NOT recommend these!

09/16/2014Bought for my 11 year old dancer. They run small, so I ended up needing to order a second pair. The properly sized pair still hurt her feet. The seam that runs along the ball of your foot digs in and hurts her feet when walking in these shoes. We're going to try band aides to cushion the area that's hurting for the time being and hope the shoes become more comfy as they break-in.

06/20/2014Very flattering and soft! These fit beautifully on my exceptionally narrow feet and are incredibly comfortable. I ordered these shoes in a Small based on my toe length (very short) and foot width (narrow) rather than shoe size (5.5-6). This Capezio has a longer vamp than the Bloch Eclipse, which is a comparably good footie. I love them both, and both are well-suited for turning. I prefer the shortest possible vamp in pointe shoes, but in these the high vamp simply protects the toes more in Modern...it does not interfere with the line of the foot.

06/15/2014This shoe is an amazing shoe for turning, tumbling, and of course lyrical/contemporary! I really love them! However, I have a large street shoe size. I have a size 10. So, I went with the XL. When I got them, I had a little trouble getting them on. The length was perfectly fine, but the width was a little small. They squeezed my feet uncomfortably for a couple uses. Eventually, they broke in fine! I just wish they would have one more size up. But overall, This shoe is great!

12/30/2013My 12 year old daughter wears a size 8 1/2 or 9 street shoe, and her foot is a bit wide. The XL Capezio half-sole fit well. She said they are a bit scratchy on her foot, and it's a bit hard to point, but they are good for doing turns and leaps because the shoes feel secure on her foot.
