The Dolce pointe shoe by Russian Pointe features a wide toe platform, high crown and v-cut without drawstring. It's best suited for the "diamond" foot shape, with wide, less tapered toes. Handcrafted in the grand Russian tradition, with innovative construction to meet the exacting needs of today's dancers.
This is my first time trying the Russian Pointe shoes and they are amazing! I was wearing Bloch Seranades and Aspirations prior to trying Russian Pointes. They are so pretty (very light pink) and have no drawstring, which concerned me a bit until I put them on for size.
I normally wear a size 8 street shoe and have a wide foot. I ordered the 40 W3 to accomodate the length of my foot while wearing my usual Gellows toe pads. My 2nd toe is longer than my big toe and my foot is as the described for sizing: "diamond shaped." The Dolce hugs my foot so perfectly that the fit feels absolutely custom!
I am very happy with my purchase.
I have worn Capezio in the past and curently wear Grishko 2007. I decided to try these out with some new Grishko shoes as well. I love the fit of both, however the Dolce hugs my foot a little more comfortably than the Grishko. I have been complimented on how beautiful Dolce makes my foot look. I normally wear a size 7.5-8 in regular shoes so I ordered the size 38 W1 V1 MF. It fits perfect. I have a low arch and avg. width foot with tapered toes. The Grande Pointe shoe is too wide for my foot (I also tried). I used the ribbons off of my Capezios and the color was perfect. Since they are new I do not know how durable they are but I love dancing in them! My Grishkos lasted about 5 months with 5 hours per week on them. I have been on pointe 2 years.
They were really great and they fit my feet well. They run pretty small so it's probably better to have them fitted before buying. They are pretty easy to break in and I found them pretty comfortable.:)
