When did you first know you wanted to be a dancer? I went to see Miami City Ballet perform the Nutcracker and I absolutely loved it. I was in gymnastics at the time but after seeing the Nutcracker I wanted to start ballet. So I begged my Mom to let me take at least one class a week, which eventually led up to everyday and my developing a passion for ballet.
Who is your favorite dancer(s) and why? I have to say Julie Kent is one of my favorites. Her dancing leaves me watching in awe. Her love for dance is so strong and she does such an amazing job of showing that in her performances, that I am truly inspried by her.
Who is your favorite dance company and why? Well, I'm kimd of stuck between ABT, New York City Ballet and Paris Opera Ballet. They both have such amazing dancers.
If you could pick one role to dance which one would it be and why? don't think I have one.
What do you hope to be doing in five years? In five years from now, I hope to be succeeding in a company.
What are your other hobbies/interests outside of dance? I love to shop, of course, and one of my favorite things to do is just sit and relax in Central Park. I try to visit a different spot in the park everytime I go to get the full effect of its beauty.
Your advice for anyone training to become a dancer: The number one thing is to avoid comparing yourself to other dancers. I, myself, am still trying to get over it, but it's something that can really bring you down and prevent you from excelling as a dancer.
