    Fit: True to size

My daughter is a vegetarian and it is hard to find dance shoes that she can wear. She is an advanced dancer and needs a split sole. These fit the bill. It would be nice if they had a toe box.

  • Smell like mothballs

    by: TSUOF - 11/10/2015

This is my second time to write this review. If you want honest opinions, you should post peoples reviews! These shoes are fine but they wreak of mothballs. Smell is hard to get out. Has taken over a month of storing them in a bag full of activated charcoal pellets. Smell is better but still there somewhat.

  • Not true to size- shoes run small!

    by: momof2tinydancers - 09/09/2015

I purchased these shoes for my daughter because she had outgrown her other pair of tap shoes. I ordered one whole shoe size up from her other pair. (I also went by the size chart listed with these shoes.) We received these shoes and this brand is less than 1/8 of an inch longer than her size 5 Bloch pair! (I ordered a size 6 in Theatricals.) Most frustrating is that I have to pay return shipping to return these and get a different size that fits. I will be hesitant to buy shoes online in the future because it is too much of a hassle to get the correct size.

  • Great shoe for the price

    by: EternalMisfit - 09/07/2015

    Comfort:

The front soles are formed and longer than I'd like, which makes straight-legged toe stands doable but harder than they should be. But since the shoes I'd really like (I have a clogging pair that I can go en pointe in quite easily and I adore them) are about $80, I'll put up with the less-than favorable front sole on these. If I start doing more tap, I'll get a pair of those. :) Runs true to size. Only used then a few times so can't speak to durability.

  • Good shoes for the price

    by: dancermom01200612 - 08/16/2015

    Comfort:

    Durability:

Got these for my daughter, as tap just got added to her schedule. For the 1/2 hr class, these work great. They do run small - her street size is a child 2, so I got an adult 4 - which fits great.

  • Very Confortable and true to size

    by: MelissaRothman - 08/01/2015

    Comfort:

This shoe looks nice and is very confortable :) I can´t say much about durability because I only have been using it for a week. That´s why I didn´t give a 5 star total rating. It has a good price, I think it´s worth trying it! I would say true to size, if there is any difference comparing to street shoes I would say it´s a 1/2 size larger than my street shoes. I can´t leave without saying that the best in Discount Dance is CLIENT ATTENTION. Congratulations!

  • Very Happy!

    by: tlg520 - 12/22/2014

    Comfort:

    Durability:

My dancer daughter is very happy with these! Her teacher recommended split sole when we realized she had outgrown her previous shoes, and she had never tried split soles before. They arrived and she tried them on immediately - she is thrilled at how easy it is to articulate her feet in these, and is excited to try them in class. They fit true to size and she says they are very comfortable!

  • Decent tap shoe

    by: DallasDanceTeacher - 11/12/2014

    Comfort:

    Durability:

I ordered these to "test drive" them for my students. For the price, they are a good buy, but they do not have the sound quality of a higher end tap shoe. For the once a week student who does not perform at competition, this shoe is a good choice. It runs true to size in the adult sizes.

  • Bad Quality

    by: MissSarah - 08/25/2014

    Comfort:

    Durability:

These shoes are good for a single performance. They will not last you more than a few months. They look good and feel good but mine fell apart after 2 weeks and I tap only 2 hours a week. You're better off buying an expensive pair that will last you years.

  • Don't last that long

    by: ab92 - 07/28/2014

    Comfort:

    Durability:

They lasted me less than a month and I only take like an hour and a half of pointe per week. I wasn't expecting much from them though. My feet are really narrow with an egyptian shape and I found these pillows to be really small. I usually have problems finding a pad that is not too large for me.

  • Comfortable but runs small

    by: Ambdancermom - 04/27/2014

Runs small. My daughter wears size 4 street shoe. I bought a size 5 and it was too small. She said it is very comfortable and flexible.

  • Size up 2 shoe sizes, very small tap sho

    by: pepper - 11/21/2013

    Comfort:

    Durability:

I had to place 2 different orders, as when I received my first shipment, the shoes were too small. the tap shoes are sized very higher than normal sizing. I had to go up 3 sizes to get a size my child could wear. You could possibly go up another 1/2 size and still be safe.
