Bought these as they look really nice in the picture and had good ratings. I bought the 8 as they are full size only. I have a wide toe area, narrow heel, high arch and prominent saddle bone. They're too low on the arch and too bunchy under the foot where they come together in the split sole even with the elastic pulled (foot elastic not sewed). They do have nice room in the toe area, though and very soft, but definitely thicker than usual. I can see these stretching more. I'll have to find a new pair.

My street shoes are 6.5 m, according to the size chart I should order 8m. But I thought they will run small so I ordered 9m. They are too big. So I will say they are true to size.
Even I got an 8m they will fit baggy.
The leather feels very durable.

I bought a pair of these Sansha split sole leather ballet slippers a while back, and I like them very much! I wear canvas Sanshas as my preferred dance slippers due to their nice fit and breathability, but I wear my leather Sanshas strictly as casual shoes and house slippers. They're among my go-to slippers at home, and I even occasionally wear them out and about. After an extended period of wear, I can confidently report that they hold up quite well to all uses. The quality of the leather is great, and the split sole design hugs my arches and makes for a really custom-feeling fit, plus it enables a really nice toe point and tendu. I can't speak to the durability of these slippers in the dance studio, as I haven't worn mine in ballet classes, but they've certainly performed excellently as casual footwear, and given that my canvas Sanshas wear like iron on the dance floor, I have no doubt these leather ones would also. In short, these are some truly awesome leather ballet slippers!

hilary03/26/2013GREAT SHOE!
This is the first time that I have had Sansha ballet slippers and I must say that they are great. They are very comfy and nice looking. Not so sure about the sizing though. I wear a size 10 street shoe and have a regular width foot. I got these in a size 12M. The width is great. Lengthwise they are very snug. I think next time I may order them in the next size up(I don't prefer a snug shoe). I would recommend these shoes.

Yosie01/10/2013SIZING IS TRICKY
I wear an 8-8 1/2 street shoe and so I ordered these in a 9M. I received them in the mail and realized that the width was much too wide. I have long narrow and tapered toes but a prominent metatarsal bone which is why I ordered the medium width. There is a lot of bulkiness in the toe area and around my arch making it seem like my foot isn't fully pointed. I tried shrinking the shoe by soaking them in an ice bath as other reviews had suggested only to have no success. The leather is really thick as opposed to the Juliet leather shoe by capezio. If I order again I will definitely opt for either a 7 1/2N or an 8N. Order true to size or a half size to a full size down if you like your shoes to fit snug.

DanceforHim07/27/2012WONDERFUL SHOES
I love these shoes!! They are very comfortable, extremely durable, and they fit very well to my feet. I wear 7-7 1/2 women's street shoe, and I ordered these in 8N and 7N. The 8's were just a tad bit for my liking - I like my shoes to be pretty snug so they can stretch and mold to my feet. However, I soaked them in some cold water, and they shrunk down more or less to my size. The 7's fit perfectly! Another thing I love about these shoes is the hidden stitching on the sole - I don't have to worry about the stitching wearing through and the sole flapping while I dance. Very well designed! Overall, I am very happy with these shoes!

DancerMom10/05/2010 Va,GREAT SHOE!
This is by far my favorite leather I've tried. The color is perfect. The fit was perfect. I am 8.5-9 in a street shoe. I ordered the 11c and it fits like a glove. My only complaint is that the heel is padded which caused great pain to my heels. I had to pull back the canvas liner and rip out the foam padding. Now they're great. I don't know why any co. puts these padded heels in since they cause so much trouble to me and many other weve read about. So if you don't mind ripping out the padding they're well worth it!

Anonymous10/27/2008LOVELY
I wrote a review earlier and now I have worn these in a few ballet classes. They really are wonderful! They are comfortable and make my almost-flat feet look like they have an arch. The only thing is, when I am brushing my foot on the floor, the material for the sole on the ball of my foot is so loud! It might just be the type of floor that my dance studio has, but aside from that, it is a beautiful shoe and I feel like I will buy these again in the future.

Anonymous08/20/2008RUN SMALL
I haven't actually worn these yet in a ballet class, but I had them fitted in a store and I would like to say that that's the best thing to do instead of trying to guess your size online. Or at least try them on and then buy them off of here. I wear a size 11 street shoe and I had to buy a size 13 Wide in these. But other than that, they felt very comfortable and the criss-cross straps prevent gapping.

Rebecca01/14/2007 Tucson, Az,VERY NICE
I had the canvas version of this shoe, and I loved it. Durability is the reason I switched to the leather slippers, and I am very pleased that these fit just like the canvas ones. I was a little apprehensive about not having a canvas arch at first, but it didn't seem to make a difference. These also give me a little more stability on the studio floor, so I really enjoy dancing in them. A great choice!

Tiffany12/08/2006CANVAS IS THE WAY TO GO!
Leather shoes are NOT the way to go. If you are a young dancer, canvas will be much easier on your feet and make your pointe look nicer. Leather shoes make your feet look less pointed, but do work your feet a little bit more. The only reason to get these would be because they are split sole . CANVAS is the way to go!

Ms.Kim10/16/2006 Salt Lake City, Ut,FROM A BALLET TEACHER.....
I love Sansha brand more than any shoe brand out there. They are so comfortable, form fitting, and show the arch beautifully. I wear these to teach in and I take class in the Sansha canvas pro 1. I have had many brands of ballet flats and Sansha is #1 on my list. (Grishko is #2.)

MauraRae 07/07/2017 Philadelphia-pa Sizing
My daughter wears a street shoe of size 7. Would a Sansha size 8 be appropriate? I assume she would be a "M" but what are your thoughts on "N"?
Hello! Thank you for contacting us. The manufacturer recommends the size 8 or 9 if the child wears the wide width. - DDS Customer Service (07/10/2017)
