    Fit: Runs large

I usually wear a 10 in Bloch jazz ballet shoes, but these were a little too long and roomy. There's no way I could wear them even if I got a smaller length, though, because there is a gap all the way around my ankle. I can see down to the sole when I stand. Maybe I got a faulty pair, but these would definitely twist on my foot if I tried to turn in them.

I had a pair of these shoes previously for more than a year. I went to get new shoes and ended up getting a different pair. I completely regretted it and bought a new pair of these once again. I have these shoes in tan and black and they are my go to shoes for jazz as well as jumps leaps and turns.

  • Bloch Black Jazz Shoes

    by: Motherof3dancers - 02/09/2015

    Comfort:

Adult "Super Jazz" Slip-On Jazz Shoe - the sizing chart said to order street shoe size. We went a half size larger and the shoe was still way too small. I had ordered several in the past, both black and tan, without any problems. But this pair is horrible. The one shoe has something on the inside that digs into the foot, and the medium width was way too small. She normally gets a medium width for all of her shoes; and some could stand to be a little smaller in width. It doesn't have a wide width option, and it was never needed in the past, is now necessary. It's a complete waste of money unless you have super skinny width feet; even then, the one shoe is going to dig into your foot.

These jazz shoes are great! They are really flattering to the foot and are easy to put on and take off. They have just the right amount of traction so you can do multiple pirouettes but also land a leap without slipping. They are comfortable to dance in and are not stiff at all.

Shoe sent was a Narrow shoe width, not Medium. This is not even on the description. Very disappointed. I cannot ding the shoe though, since this is the shoe my daughter has been using for two years. The shoes still look brand new, and if it wasn't for her foot growing, we'd be fine for another year. Very disappointed in the site, not the shoe.

    by: Amburgytj - 03/11/2014

    Comfort:

    Durability:

I bought these shoes being a male for a musical. They got here very quickly which was wonderful. I did order the right size after figuring it, but still seemed smal. After wearing them for a couple of days they seem to have become more fitting . Although still on the smaller side. If your a male I would recommend just going a half size up. These shoes are amazing though, granted there a little worn within a week of use but definitely worth the purchase. It's a great deal.

These shoes are comfy. I am a 6 W, and the 5.5 and 6 both fit. HOWEVER, they will make your foot look like you have a camel hump on top if you have a high instep. The center gore is not a flattering look. Comfy and low cut, though

  • Jazz Shoes - gaping around narrow heels

    by: thewb2 - 09/16/2013

    Comfort:

I received my shoes in time for my rehearsal on Sunday. They were a bit slippery, but that is mostly due to the practice floor's surface. My only concern is that I have very narrow feet and heels, and there is some gaping by the sides near the back of the shoes. I wear a street 6.5 or 7 and purchased the 6.5 jazz shoe - the size is right except for the gaping. I will most likely add a strip of elastic across the ankle to ensure my feet stay securely in the shoes.

  • excellent as a latin dance practice shoe

    by: smithk85 - 09/10/2013

    Comfort:

    Durability:

I am very happy with these shoes. I dance mostly latin dances and have been wearing them as practice shoes. I purchased them in nude. They make the line of my foot and my arch look nice, except for the slight crinkling of the leather across the arch, which isn't a big deal to me. I like that the elastic is in the center on the top of the foot, as opposed to the sides, because it looks nicer on my feet and legs, and the nude color keeps my legs from looking cut off like with black shoes (I have very pale legs). They are perfect for spins and turns and are comfortable even when worn all day and night dancing. Also, the sizing was spot on. My street shoe size in flats is an 8 and that's what I ordered these shoes in. They fit perfectly; not to tight or loose. On top of all this, the price can't be beat. They only slight downside would be that I can see that they will likely start to wear fairly quickly, especially on area that is just inside the ball of the foot padding. But overall, I would definitely recommend these shoes.

    by: llamasandcookies - 08/31/2013

    Comfort:

    Durability:

my street shoe size is 6.5, and just as the chart said, I ordered a 6.5. They have just a tiny bit of extra room in the toe, but still fit like a glove everywhere else. Turns are fluid and easy, and I still get great grip on the floor. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a good deal AND a good little shoe.

  • Nice shoe!

    by: Peace - 08/28/2013

    Comfort:

    Durability:

I do like this shoe very much. My only concern is around the sizing. It says, "street shoe" but for a lot of people, I know that's style-dependent. I wear a 6 in a high heel, but 5.5 in a flat. This being a flat, I first ordered the 5.5... then I sent them back and reordered the 6. I'm still not certain that the 6.5 wouldn't be better; but I'm counting on a little stretch with a little more wear. The split sole is fantastic and really shows off the arch of the foot. Durability-wise, if you only have a couple of classes a week, these will be great and should get you through a few months of classes. If you dance every day, plan to replace in about two months. They aren't expensive so I'd say they're worth the replacement value given the look and feel!

I own a pair in black and tan and they both have lasted a good time. My friend and I bought jazz shoes at the same time and she got those cheap lace up ones at payless. Her shoes already lost their grip while mine are still fairly good. As for sizing, mine were the same as my street shoe (7.5-8) Seriously should buy these!

  • Comfortable & (so far) durable

    by: ErinH - 03/29/2013

    Comfort:

    Durability:

This is my first pair of jazz shoes. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of them, but my dance class at school requires them. I bought these at a local store, rather than online, since I wasn't sure on the sizing. My street size is US 7.5-8 and my feet are not wide or narrow, just kind of average. The size 8 was a little too long, but the 7.5 fits perfectly. I also tried Bloch's shoes with the neoprene arches/sides but these felt much better. The leather hugs my arch nicely and does help to accentuate it, but my feet do not look very good on releve. :( The shoes are very comfortable, however, and are great for turns! They have just enough traction to keep you from slipping and falling out of turns/etc. Pretty much true to size, comfy, good for turns. Would recommend to others.

  • Great

    by: thedancer - 03/09/2013

    Comfort:

    Durability:

This is a really great shoe. I decided to order street size based on reviews and I am about 8.5 adult. It was perfect. Wasn't too big, wasn't too small. Just right. When I got my tan jazz shoes I was a bit worried the shade of tan was wrong, since my dance class has tan jazz shoes, (maybe because of the lighting) but I wore them and they were just fine. Another thing I don't like about them is, when you look inside the shoe, the middle part, there was a bunch of wrinkles like the people who glued it down didn't straighten it. It kind of bothers me when I wear it. But other than that, they're great!!!

  • Right Shoe Wrong Size

    by: Dancemomma1971 - 01/10/2013

    Comfort:

    Durability:

LOVE LOVE LOVE this shoe. It is comfortable and we feel it has some durable qualities. My daughter danced in this last pair for about 8 months. For us this is GREAT because we dance about 10-12 hours weekly for 8 months. Because her foot is slowing it's growth it lasted longer in length. YAY. We are getting our 3rd pair but we did have a sizing problem. We could not find her shoe when we ordered the other night so we guessed. We guessed wrong but we did use the suggestion of street shoe size to make our decision. They were to snug and short. We are going one size larger than street size. Because we dance in a large studio someone else could wear the wrong size so the savings from this sight continues. Yay. highly recommend this shoe.

  • Small

    by: okanoganmom - 09/13/2012

    Fit: Runs small

Ordered this shoe for my 10 year old. The sizing chart recommended ordering street size. I read the reviews, which are mixed concerning size. I decided to order a half size up just to be sure. WRONG. Her toe went right to the end and the shoe was not wearable so I returned it and ordered a whole size up. Still waiting for that order to come in so we'll see about comfort and durability later. And, with the return and re-order, I'm now up to about $13 in shipping charges so this shoe is not looking like such a bargain any more. If I had a dance store close by I would never buy dance shoes on the internet as sizes vary too widely.

  • Great Jazz Shoe

    Comfort:

    Durability:

    Fit: Runs small

I ordered this for my teenage daughter who is taking jazz class again for the first time in several years...so I didn't have any recent jazz shoe of hers to reference for size. I've had nightmares with getting the right size for her in other dance shoes, so I went with past experience and ordered this shoe a bit larger than her street size. We had to send it back and get it IN STREET SHOE SIZE. But she does love the shoe and says it's VERY comfortable.

    Comfort:

    Durability:

    Fit: Runs small

My daughter's arch looks beautiful when she points in these, although up close, I can see how the leather bunches a bit. We've never tried anything with a neoprene arch, though, so I can't compare. But she loves these. She has a VERY wide toe box, and we ordered these a half size up. The first couple times she wore them, they were tough to put on, but they stretched beautifully, and 9 months later, they still fit. (Impressive for a 7-year old.) They're wearing a bit in a few places, but still look pretty darn good.

These are very comfortable, but somewhat loose. They don't form to your foot very well. They wear very easily. I do Musical Theatre, and after the closing of one show (9 week run), I couldn't wear them because my turns had worn two HUGE holes on both shoes, so, it wore through 3 pairs of tights. But, that could just be me... Other than that, great for turns!

don't buy these. I wear a size 6.5 in street shoes, and I often go about a half size down when I buy jazz shoes, for this reason. So, I bought a size 6, and the heel still feels loose. Plus, when I point, all I can feel is extra bulky leather. Not a good buy for narrow heels.

My daughter wears a street shoe size 4 1/2. So I ordered her a size 5 in this shoe and they are too small! Her toes are stretching the end of the shoe. I am very disappointed since I checked very carefully what size is recommended. She would really need a size 6, minimum and she does not have wide or hard to fit feet.

I only got this shoe because I lost my Capezio jazz shoes. I was hesitant to try elastic on the top as opposed to off on the sides, but I absolutely love it! These shoes are extremely comfortable, easy to throw on, and true to the fitting chart.

They are comfortable and pretty nice shoes. The only complaint is that the shoe makes it a little hard to arch your foot, but good for first time shoes. These are my first jazz shoes. I dance in them once a week for an hour and I've had them for 3 months. They look brand new.

  • Will wear nothing but this shoe!

As a dancer, I love these shoes more than any other jazz shoe. (And trust me, I've pretty much have used them all...) They are great to turn in and don't restrict your foot from pointing. When you slide down on the floor, there is no elastic stretching your shoe in half like many of the other styles. The full leather body is really great. As a dance teacher, I love these shoes for my students because they create such a clean line. The tan matches the Bloch tights EXACTLY. The black looks really classy too. I've recommended this shoe to many other students, parents, teachers, and studios over the years. A great choice!

I use this shoe for my recreational and competitive dancers. Not only does it create a nice line, but it isn't bulky and it is very affordable. As a studio owner, I highly suggest this shoe.

I really like these shoes. I wore them for a long time. They mold to your foot really good and are super comfy! That's why they are super jazz shoes!
