From Bloch, a jazz-style upper of durable, soft leather, combined with a full leather sole and reinforced toe box makes this a strong, stable tap shoe. The taps are secured to a resonating board for a full sound and perfect stability. Rubber pad on metatarsal. 1" heel
I ordered the Bloch "respect" lace-up tap shoe and this shoe both in size 4 so my 8 year old daughter could see which style she liked best because this is her first lace up tap shoe. The respect fit according to size chart (and is incredibly comfortable). This one was so small it looked like a toddler size. I posted a picture to show how different the 2 sizes are. Both Bloch adult size 4 M. The bottom shoe is the "respect" style. The top shoe is this shoe, the adult lace up tap shoe.
Great shoe but it runs small. I want to EXCHANGE not send back, wait for credit, and then repurchase in the larger size. I do not like having to WAIT for a credit to be issued and THEN reorder. A bit disappointing.
These shoes drive me nuts. They have really really nice sounds, and are comfortable (no blisters, even without socks)on the plus side. However, it is physically impossible to do toe stands! My teacher didn't believe me when I said I couldn't do toe stands in these shoes, tried them on herself, tried to do one, and failed. It's not just me. The box in the shoes is too far over the tap I think. If you don't have to do toe stands, they are very nice shoes and have held up very nicely for a few years now.
Although I didn't order these from Discount Dance, I thought these shoes were terrific. This is my first year of tap so I've never had another shoe, but I love these. I can do toe stands but I just have to bend my knees quite a bit. They were a perfect fit for my feet!
I've used this shoe for three years. I agree with the other reviewers - can't do toe stands and once the screws come loose, you cannot keep them tightened. They are very comfortable if you wear socks, if not, it's very likely you'll get blisters. Overall I've been satisfied with these shoes.
