I personally love these shoes. I have moderate arches, avarage toes, and narrow feet. My feet are very strong, despite my unfortunate lower arches. These shoes are easy to break in, but does not last me long. I always get a hard shaft, due to the amount of hours I dance, and they lasted me about 3 months. I reccomend this shoe to people with moderat archs, and very strong feet. I have noticed it is difficult for people with weaker feet to stay on their shoe in these.

mlballerina11/05/2013WERE DEAD AFTER 3 HOURS
I was so disappointed that the strongest shank died after one class. I couldn't even turn in them by the end of the class because they were so dead. I have very strong arches and flexible feet. They died faster than any other shoe I have ever owned. I prefer Bloch Sonata more but Grishko 2007 are my go to shoe now.

Georgia Peach07/21/2010BEAUTIFUL SHOE
I have been using these shoes for 4 years now. They are a beautiful pink color, not white like the picture. I have very strong feet and I do break the hard shank quickly and I jet glue the box as it does die quickly too. During regular rehearsals I get about 6 weeks of practice (32 - 36 hours) per pair. During Nutcracker, I use 2 pair for rehearsals and 1 pair for performances. All three are dead by our last show! The price of this shoe is fantastic for the value. Because the shoe breaks in quickly for me, it is so comfortable to dance in, and my feet look beautiful ALL the time. No problems with comfort. I am one of the few dancers in my company whose toes still look "normal", not all "knotty" like the other dancers toes! These shoes have so much room in the box! I have tried other shoes and none fit as nice, feel as comfortable or look as great as these! Other reviewers are correct about the shank breaking and the nails popping. Discount Dance has always replaced them no problems remember these are individually made, so try them on before you wear them. I love these shoes and will never wear anything else!

These shoes are much comfortable than my last pair! Great shoes, still look good after 2 or 3 months of use!

Lara12/12/2009MY FAVORITES!
I've tried tons of shoes and these are my favorite. I have wide feet and weak ankles so the fact that these are easier to break in and have a wider box increase my confidence and help me get fully onto pointe. I wore these both when I trained more intensely and now when I'm just trying to get back into pointe. They don't last long if you are a frequent dancer but with feet/ankles like mine, it's worth it so I don't have to suffer for a couple weeks trying to break in shoes. (For even faster breaking-in, try Bloch's Signature REHEARSAL. They'll last an even shorter time but are perfect for performances.

I just got these shoes a little less than a month ago. They are my second pair of Pointe shoes. I had started off with the Sansha Recitals, and did not like them at all. I have pretty wide feet, and they were just uncomfortable all the way around. The boxes also got very soft very quickly. So I got these. So far I really like them. They look flattering on my feet, and they are very comfortable. I got the harder shank, and they are sort of hard to break in, although I am getting there. They are very beautiful shoes and I really like them. I would recommend them if you have feet that are like mine: high arch, wide, and very short toes with a medium sized heel.

These shoes made my feet look really pretty and nice and worked for like two weeks well but they die so fast. I've gone through tons of pointe shoes and have gone through two pairs of these shoes in about 6 weeks and when they die they die in the oddest way. I would only recommend this shoe for a beginner or someone who does not dance a lot on pointe.

Amy07/31/2009 Massachusetts,I LOVE THESE SHOES
I have been using these shoes for awhile and they work great! They don't look like the ones in the picture, they look like any other pointe shoe. These shoes are very good if you have a strong arch.

Anegla W.06/17/2009 Forks, Wa,GREAT SHOE, BUT GET SIZED BY AN EXPERT.
This shoe is a great pointe shoe for beginners, and their satin lasts a very long time. The only con is (which really isn't a con) that you should get sized at a dance store or studio because my shoe fits great and goes totally against the suggested fitting. Other than that, this is a great pointe shoe.

These are really good shoes. I love the shape and the look of them! The only thing is the box tends to rip easily! ( my studio is carpet, that is probably why!!)
I also had an issue that when I roll on pointe it pops and cracks! But otherwise love the shoe and Bloch a lot!

Sag12/29/2008 California,GREAT
These shoes are very good. Everything about them is great. They are a prefect color. They help my feet go all the way over. They look a lot like Grishko's, which is good because that is the shoe my studio prefers, but my feet don't work well in them. The only thing is that they didn't last very long, about 2 months. But, it was going on pointe everyday, because of nutcracker rehearsals, and they are just starting to die. However, once I get them again, I dont think that they will die so quickly. But I do have to keep in mind that these are a professional shoe, and I'm only on my 3rd year. So I guess that that they were very good.
So, if your feet aren't very flexible, like mine, than get these. maybe for younger dancers though. Because you wont be on pointe all the time.

Anonymous11/16/2008 California,
The first time I got these shoes I hated them, they buckled around the middle of the shank and made my arches look like they were pointing into the ground at a strange angle, which also made it hard to get over the box. Got them a second time because my teacher liked them on my feet and I bent the shank a tiny bit before class and they are perfect now, I think that my feet needed to be just a bit stronger to make the shoes do what my feet wanted and not the other way around. I love them, they fit great, and the platform is easy to balance on because it is shaped like a slightly squished circle. I feel secure in these shoes and there is enough shoe to hold my foot in (which has been a problem with other shoes with shorter vamps).

I love this shoe a lot (I can't wear anything else), but the box gets soft waay too fast. I get hard shanks, and the problem is that the box breaks down before the shank. Even after jetgluing them you can still feel the floor through the box when you're en pointe. At least they're cheap though, so when you need new ones soon you won't break the bank.

Kaisey (pronounced Kay-zee)09/24/2008UGH! HORRIBLE ON MY FEET!!!
As my first pair of pointes, I thought they were absolutely and wonderfully AMAZING! I quickly found out I was wrong.
I have very high arches, wide (And big) feet, and these bent so weird, like my foot was going the opposite way at a point. They did last long, but eventually the box got all uneven and lumpy and round. (Kind of hard to describe, and I apologize!) For the beginner, depending on your foot type, it could be good, but could not be good. These were also very hard to break in and I kept trying to switch the shoes but it did me no justice! :) Keep searching, and if you have wide feet and didn't like these, try Grishko Elite!!!
I'm basically a beginner to intermediate pointe student, but these are the only shoes I will buy! I just ordered a new pair in a wider size since my feet were getting too tight in my old ones. They really aren't hard to break in and I like the soft color and overall look of these shoes. I don't know how they would be for a serious pointe dancer, but if you need a more inexpensive and good pair of pointes, these are very nice :)

Haley08/26/2008 Utah,
I have only had these shoes once, but personally Bloch's have been my favorite pointe shoes I have worn. These shoes were the most flattering for my feet, and I have broken the shanks in all of my shoes except these. The only problem I had was that the box crushed VERY EASY! I had to jet glue them multiple times before they even looked used. I wouldn't recommend for an intermediate/advanced dancer but would be good for a beginner I think!

What I love:
~The shoe is strong and supports well until they die
~The shank is pretty flexible after a few classes
~Very pretty on archy feet
What I hate:
~The hardest part for me to break-in was the section right above the box, therefore the shoe didn't move with my foot for a while
Overall, a good shoe. I'd buy them again, I'd say just give them some time.

Well, they are really nice for some people, but here is my opinion; For some reason, all Bloch pointe shoes look the same- yeah I know they are from the same company but they should look different. These shoes died really quickly for me, with a hard shank I went through 2 pairs a month. They don't look that nice on anyone. A friend has the Signature Performance and loves them, but she cuts the vamp down to size because it is pretty high. They look chunky and even the narrowest size looks like a double wide. After these, I tried Freeds and liked them better, but also Russian pointes, and almost disliked them as much as these. I have still not found my perfect shoe but these are for sure not them.

I love these shoes. They support your foot-- comfortable. They look beautiful on feet. I would recommend these for beginner and medium leveled dancer (A very good pointe dancer would break the shoe.)

Heather02/03/2008 Plano, Tx,USED THESE FOR 4 YEARS AND LOVE THEM!
I have wide, high- arched, very strong feet and these were perfect. I order them with a hard shank because they do break-in so easily. Very comfortable, easy break- in and super quiet. The only drawback is that the box does go soft-but I don't know how that compares to others because I don't buy others.

I am 13, and these are the ONLY shoes I will buy. I have pretty high arches, and these are the only ones that show them off :) The box DOES take time to break in though... but that's how all pointe shoes are :) THESE ARE WONDERFUL! Mine just broke, and I had them for a good six months! Perfect time if you ask me, so I'm ordering some new ones!

Sarah10/01/2007 Horizon's Studio,LOVE THEM!!!
I just started pointe this year, but these shoes make it so easier to deal with. At first, my feet kept getting all blistery and torn up, and I blamed the shoes. Now I know it's just a part of pointe. They are so nice and feel good on my feet, but they're a little tough to break-in. Other than that minor thing - 5 stars!!

I personally don't own these shoes, but a girl in my class does and they look simply gorgeous on her feet. She is very strong and highly arched, and they just mold to her foot.

These were my first pointes and I can assure you, there are other Blochs ten times better. I do like the fact that Blochs are better for wide feet (I got the 6D, and in Bloch slippers I use a 6C). As a first, I didn't like them, but maybe if I had used them later on, I wouldn't have minded them as much, but there is no chance I'm going to risk buying them again.

These shoes look hideous on my feet. I have a wide foot and can never push on top of my box with these shoes. They stink for flat feet, which I definitely have. Otherwise, they're beautiful pointe shoes, just not on my feet.

Smowl01/30/2007 Pennsylvania,
I Hate these shoes! I have tried 2 pairs and they both have made my feet look terrible. When I went up to point, they continued to pull me down to demi-point. I couldn't stay up at all. I am much happier with my Grishko 2007.

I LOVE THESE SHOES! They are perfect for my feet! I've been on pointe for like 5 years and these were only the second kind I tried, the first being Bloch Sonata, so I was skeptical that they were the right shoe for me. I went on a spree of trying every shoe there is, and this shoe and I were meant to be. I have really strong feet, so I have to Jet glue the regular shank to make them more enduring. But, I def. recommend them!

Melysa07/16/2006 Buffalo,
I have been using these shoes for a while and they fit my foot very well. They make my foot look more arched than it really is. They break in quickly and dry fairly quickly but only last 1 or 2 months each.

Mary-Elizabeth04/15/2006 Cali,LAST LONG AND WORK HARD
I have owned this shoe for about two years total, and they have been great. They are very dependable and mold to the foot as soon as you first wear them. The only thing that I don't like about these shoes, is that if you have a high arch like me, they can be a bit painful at the instep at times. Overall, a very good shoe. If you like this shoe, the Freed Brand is also a good choice for the specific shape of foot that these shoes require. Thanks Discount Dance!

just a student04/12/2006NOT FOR HIGH ARCHES
I have pretty good arches and a nice instep, but you'd have never known that if you saw me in these shoes. Absolutely painful when doing hops on pointe or demi-pointe too. The only positive things I can say are: the hard shank is almost as good as a Grishko (if you need a strong shank but can't afford Grishkos), and they do last a long time.

Devon 06/26/2013 Age: 18 to 24 Why don't you sell a size 8 anymore?
Bloch is phasing out the strong shank in this shoe and is making some adjustments to the Signature this season. We may have stopped carrying the size 8.0 if Bloch is no longer carrying that size. You would definitely want to check with them directly at blochworld.com. - DDS Customer Service (07/02/2013)
