I wear Russian Pointe Rubin Pointe shoes as well as Russian Pointe Andante Slippers. Based on other reviews, I was hoping these would match my shoes perfectly... But they didn't. They're just a few shades too light. (They actually make my shoes look pinker!) I will say, however, that I am a super-pale person... Like when I pick out foundation, I'm always in the lightest shade available. So perhaps on a more tan person, the tights would appear to match the shoes more closely.
Comfort- these tights are extremely soft and I can see why people like them.
Durability- not-so-great. I had assumed that perhaps the reviews of these tights running were from some people who weren't as careful with tights as I am (after all, I had a pair of Capezio tights that I'd worn more than 52 times that still hadn't run... I was only getting rid of them because the color had faded out... But alas, by the third time I wore these, there was a tiny run coming from the transition hole. up to my ankle. I was able to stop the run, but other have popped up since then. I'm fully aware that I'm fighting a losing battle.
I will not purchase these again. I instead prefer the Capezio Mesh Seamed tights (which after 3 washes, look just fine with my shoes.
I wear Russian Pointe shoes, and the tights match the color perfectly. They are soft and breathable, but don't have the ten minute long battle to pull the tights on.But, they get small runs in the transition hole, about half way up to the ankle.
My daughter begged for these when she switched to RP shoes. These tights are *beautiful*. The exact shade of her RP shoes, so she has a lovely line. They are also super comfortable; so soft it's unreal. She never wants to wear another brand of tights again. Sadly, these tights are very, very delicate. While Capezio and Body Wrappers will last for months without so much as a snag in them, the RP tights seem to snag and get long runs in them as soon as you touch them. I really expected better. Since my daughter doesn't mind the runs, we'll stick with these, but hopefully they'll work on improving them.
I am so disappointed in these tights! My 13 year old has been wanting them to match her Russian Pointe shoes. After one time, there was a snag in the foot. After the second time, there was a 4 inch run going from the foot opening up past the ankle on the other foot! I noticed quite a bit of piling on the bottom of the feet as well. All of this from about 3 hours of wear. It's too bad because they are a lovely shade of pale pink that match the shoes perfectly, and she says they are very comfortable. But they just are not durable. I will not be buying these again.
The title really says it all. First off, I must comment on the color of these incomparable tights. Their beautiful, white crystalline hue matches the pale sheen of the Russian Pointe pointe and flat shoes perfectly (really line accentuating, especially if you matte the pointe shoes!). Also, the tights are super soft, very very stretchy and pliant. I normally go through a pair of tights in about a month, but these lasted me for 3 (and still counting). Due to their softness and supple quality, they conform to the body and legs very well. I am 5'7 and 105 pounds; I was easily able to fit into both the Adult small/medium and medium/large sizes. Would definitely recommend to any ballet student of any age and level.
I've been ogling these tights for a while, but the rather steep price compared to my usual Natalie tights has made me hold off. However, I buckled and I do not regret it. I wore them tonight and got lots of complements on the color (very pale pink, almost ghostly). They are opaque enough to cover bruises and other discolorations, and even at my age (over 40) I don't feel self conscious or exposed. However, they don't feel thick, instead light and soft as a a baby's bum. I ordered the larger size, as I like my tights room and I am 5''7" and 130ish. Only one beef is that they have a toe seam. However, that's really minor. The knit-in waistband is perfect (not too tight) and the toe openings seem solidly bound, so they won't rip out. I'd buy another pair, for sure.
