Mirella's elegant professional pointe shoe features an insole that the experienced dancer can customize to their liking. The insoles have only been glued into the shoe up to the 2/3 mark, after which they are separated for the experienced dancer to cut or modify each insole to suit their individual performance needs. Ribbons not included.
This is the third style of Mirella pointe shoes I've tried (I've also worn Academie and Whisper#, and, like the others, I love them. I'm a long-time wearer of Bloch European Balance, but switched to Mirella when I couldn't get my size in Bloch.
I've settled on the Professional after regular pointe work #2-3 times a week# has strengthened and changed my feet. I have small feet #size 6#, with short toes, a wide instep #esp. on pointe#, high arch, and narrow heels. I have to do very little to these shoes to break them in - the 2/3 shank is perfect for me, and all I need to do is to soften the box at the demi-pointe.
Finally, these wear great; I don't a lot of pointe work #one pointe class and one class on pointe a week), but they've lasted me about 6 weeks or more. They also look really good on my feet, which don't have a great arch.
My feet have changed with age, so I've been shopping around for a new shoe. I have long toes, wide metatarsals, and a narrow heel. Other shoes were constantly giving me bruised toenails, but this shoe lifts me up and places me on the center of the box. I've gotten many complements since I've starting wearing these.
I've been wearing this shoe for four years now, and have loved it since my first pair. The shoes fit me perfectly (high arch, wider metatarsal with narrow heel) and are comfortable, as pointe shoes go. They break in very fast and last 1-4 or 5 weeks depending on my schedule and how many pairs I'm alternating at once. I barely do anything to alter them, except stepping on the box, wetting it, and darning the tips (occasionally). They are consistent and rarely come with any defects. I love these shoes!
