Mirella's Academie is a beautiful light weight, comfortable and elegant pointe shoe. This beginner's style has a firm shank to provide support and resistance to the developing foot helping build foot and ankle strength. Ribbons not included.
I have been on pointe for 5 years. Mirella Academie was my first pair. Still, to this day, I am wearing the same brand. Over the years, I have seen my dance friends switch between many different brands of shoes. Mirella Academie pointe shoes have been faithfully with me this whole time.I would not dream of switching to any other pair. My feet are very strong and archy. The hard shank helps support my foot, and is strong enough to have a reasonable amount of durability. I really recommend this shoe to people with archy feet because it has a strong shank that won't "die" in 5 seconds.
I love these pointe shoes. I started out with bloch hannahs which are a demi pointe shoe and then switched to russian rubins until i found these. These are a great shoe for a foot with a low arch like mine. tt compliments the foot nicely and hugs the arch. They look very elegant on and they give the foot a nice long line. They are great for winging the foot to create the perfect line. One of my favorite pointe shoes that i have found so far.
These shoes have been the MOST comfortable point shoes I've ever worn! You wouldn't expect point shoes to be comfortable, but not only do these feel like house shoes, but they have a really nice box that helps you to balance. I have a naturally hooked foot, so it's a little difficult to find point shoes that match my foot, but these fit perfectly (aside from running a little larger than the size chart indicated). They're also extremely quiet and I've never had a problem with them squeaking. The only thing I would change about these shoes is that they didn't last long:( 3 weeks maybe. However, that's perfect if you just need performance shoes!!
My first pointe experience was with Grishko Elite, and I used these for quite some time, simply because I could not yet tell what a well-fitted shoe was supposed to feel like. On a whim I tried on these shoes, and I was amazed at the contrasting comfort compared to the Elites. They were much easier to balance on, and I was able to get onto the box well (something I have a bit of trouble with). I really like the strength of the shank, as it is easy enough to mold so that it bends at my natural arch. For me, these shoes last well- maybe four full performances (take into consideration that my feet do not break shoes very rapidly). I like the shape, and I like the shoe. For me, these are near perfect.
