PERFECT MIX BETWEEN JAZZ SHOES AND SNEAKERS

I have to say, I was a bit nervous about purchasing these shoes after reading the reviews, but I'm so happy I did! I absolutely love these shoes - mostly because of the durability and how good they feel on my feet. They were pretty ugly at first sight (I thought, "no way am I wearing these",) but once they were on my feet, they looked super cute and felt great! I would describe these shoes as flexible sneakers. They're featherlight. Anyway, I am so happy with these shoes that I just ordered another pair.

    NICE, SLIM-LINE SHOES

I teach West Coast Swing and have been looking for a flat, flexible shoe. These are great. I've only been wearing them a few weeks but I spend a few hours in them at a time. There's obviously not much arch support and I can feel my feet after a few hours, but it's nothing that wouldn't be expected. They're quite comfortable and stretch to form to your foot. I wear them with socks so the negative comments about the odor haven't been my experience. I'd LOVE to have something like this with suede soles. I'm ordering a few more pairs to sell to my students.

    SMELLY!!

My high school dance team used these shoes this year and after about two practices the shoes began to smell VERY bad. Sweaty feet generally smell, but this was horrible it made the entire dance room smell and even outside of the room. It was not good also about half way throughout the season the elastics across the top of the foot snapped and they are now un-wearable. i would not suggest these shoes.

I dance for a semi-professional basketball team in the area and we got these so that we could have better support and shock absorbtion on the court than jazz shoes but without the clunky look of a dance sneaker. I have worn these shoes twice and already the lining has peeled out of them. They are not breathable at all, I almost feel like my foot is going to slip out of them from dancing in a puddle of sweat. Even with socks they are still ridiculously uncomfortable. The sole is so thin you can distinctly feel where the elastic is attached underneath of the big toe and the arch bubbles up awkwardly.

    VERY HAPPY WITH THESE.

What's not to like? They're cute, they're cheap, they're washable and they are holding up nicely. These are great with my tribal beledi costumes and also good for--get this--airline flights. No more scrunched feet!

I'm a street size 8 and followed the guide and got a medium, which fits fine. I try to avoid leather whenever possible, so my choices in jazz shoes are limited. These are comfortable for what they are and very lightweight. They don't take up much room in a dance bag! That said, I wish they were more supportive.

    GREAT FUN SHOE!

I bought these about a month or so ago because the Sansha sneakers weren't doing it for me. These are great. I've been using them for hip hop mostly, and used them for jazz for the first time tonight and they didn't fail me. Excellent for turning and enough padding in the ball of the foot for comfort. They fit snugly to my foot without binding or too much pressure. Haven't noticed any extra smell or anything else funky. One of the problems with the sneaker is that it only came in full sizes and the arch cinched toward the front, this gives gentle support and my foot looks very nice in them.

Even though these shoes are really ugly when you put them on, I highly suggest them. They are extremely comfortable and are able to move in whatever direction you want your toe to point. If you are looking for stylish ones, then I don't suggest getting these, but for everything else they are wonderful.

    PERFECT SHOE FOR A BEGINNER!

These were my first ever jazz shoes, and I love them! Since I don't do as much work as some of the people who wrote previous reviews, I haven't had problems with the breathability or durability of the shoes, and so what if they stink? Washing machines were made for a reason! (And coincidentally, the fabric won't get ruined in the washer!) The shoes offer great support, are very very comfortable, look great, and the best part is you don't have to deal with inaccurate measurements... It's really hard to screw up the order with this shoe.

    CHEAP FOR A REASON

As somebody else mentioned, I bought these expecting them to be made of some sort of canvas, "durable" material. What I received instead was a shoe made up of a soft, cheap material. They offer no support whatsoever, and I twisted my ankle coming out of a barrel leap. Also, by the end of the first practice, they were already deteriorating completely! I wouldn't recommend buying these shoes-- NOT WORTH IT.

Super lightweight, though they are incredibly tight (about a size too small). Thank God they have a bit of give. If they were about a cm. wider and longer they would be nearly perfect. And they do make some marks on the floor if you drag your foot too hard.

    SQUISHY, IMPACT ABSORBING COMFORT

These are a vacation for your feet. They are as comfortable as house slippers with the cushioning of Crocs. That said, they are only good for me on slippery floors, as they're too sticky for many of the floors I dance on. I wear them around the house as much as dancing, as they're so cheap. 5 stars for how comfy and light they are.

    I LOVE THESE SHOES

These shoes are great. I do agree, they do run big and they start to smell, but just threw mine in the washer and they where fine after that. They are very, very comfortable. I worked on the tech crew for my school play and I even wore them then.

    AWESOME

These shoes are so awesome! And the fact that they are so cheap is even better! I wear a 6.5 and I got the small and they fit good. So I would go about a size or a half size below what you normally wear.

They do run a bit big, but they are super flexible and stretchy. Very comfortable, but they do not breathe at all. In fact, they get pretty smelly, pretty fast because of the manmade materials. You can wash them by hand though - but the scent is a bit tough to be rid of.

These sneakers look really pretty on your feet, but they run pretty big. If it wasn't for that, they would be easier to turn on, but the room in the front makes my feet sort of slide out of place, especially when I'm not wearing socks.

Absolutely loved them. Extremely portable, great arch support. They do run slightly large. Were great for all kinds of dancing. It is better than dancing in socks, allows for traction and turning ability.

    Didn't answer my question.

please suggest a SNEAKER that will be well padded in the forefoot and sleek. I already own real ghillies, I need something significantly more padded, I've already tried inserts, I need a sneaker.

My apologies, Cecelia. To be honest, I would not recommend any sneaker for the style of dance you practice. We do have several styles of sneakers; some of which have thinner soles. However, the soles would still be significantly, nearly an inch or more, thicker than a typical irish stepper and could prohibit you from performing certain moves. We do have a 30 day return and exchange policy which enables you to try on as many pairs as you would like. All unused shoes that are in a resalable condition may be returned for a full refund of the merchandise amount. My only other suggestion is to speak with your teacher and ask him/her what other students have ordered in your case. I hope this is helpful.

Are these good for Irish softshoe?

I need something with alot more padding in the forefoot than a ghillie, as I am prone to stress fractures, but light and sleek enough to do fast footwork without catching the heels on eachother. If these are not well padded, can you recommend another sleek shoe that is?

This particular shoe may not hold up to your standards. Item MD02 (GHILLIE) is going to be the best option for the type of dance you are doing. If you need more padding, you may want to get inserts for the shoe.
