I was pleasantly surprised these came with ribbons. Elastic was pre-attached at one side. Fit runs a little small in length--I wear a women's size 9 and a size 12 fit a little snug.
Quality seems great so far.

So these shoes are meant to be used to strengthen your feet for pointe work while also allowing you to get used to the box of pointe shoes. -These are not meant to be used for pointe work because they do not have a shank- Honestly, I do not feel like my feet were strengthen through the use of these shoes. I wear split-sole ballet shoes so I think ordering a full sole ballet shoe would be a better strengthening tool than these. Overall the shoe quality is pretty good. One downfall to these shoes is the elastic that is pre-attached to the shoe. It is very thin and frays easily. The box is pretty stiff when you first get it, so it takes some time to get used to it and break in. The sizing of this shoe is pretty accurate. I already own a pair of Sansha ballet flats so I just went with the size of those which is an 8M. I am normally a 6.5-7.0 and I ordered the 8.0M. It fit pretty well but the 9M would have been a more comfortable fit which is also the recommended size.

HelenM2210/28/2014CHEAPLY MADE AND WRONG SIZING
I bought these for a photo-shoot (I didn't want to trash a new pair of pointe shoes) and was really disappointed. I am a 7.5, so the sizing chart said I was a 10. However, when I got the shoes the size was huge even with toe pads. The quality is also really poor. I do like the color of the satin and the sole. Overall the shoe is not worth buying. Sadly I spent fourteen dollars on express shipping and have to return it.

Balletbeauty02/02/2014VERY DISAPPOINTED!
I danced in these shoes for only 2hours a week. They didn't last long! After a few weeks they were trashed! Wouldn't recommend these at all!

I use these for all my students that do not have a nice deep arch. They are wonderful. This shoe is so soft in the shank it gives them the most optimum stretch into the arch and helps them increase their arch as the dance in them. I would not recommend these for novice pointe dancers that are young and not properly prepared for pointe work. My students go through a rigorous 1 year strength and conditioning program before getting their shoes, so even my novice dancers with low arches go into these right away, but I am aware that the many dance schools put students that are too young or not conditioned properly on pointe. These shoes would not be ideal for that situation. They would need a harder shank so the shoe can do the actual work for them.

arabesque 06/21/2015 Age: 17 or under Does sizing in these shoes match up with Sansha ProCanvas soft shoes?
I wear an 8 in Sansha ProCanvas, and they are a little short, but the correct width. Also, how long does the vamp run on these?
No, the sizing on these shoes does not perfectly match up with the sizing on the Pro Canvas shoe. Please refer to the sizing chart on the product page for more detailed answers to your sizing questions. - DDS Customer Service (06/22/2015)
Tiff 08/03/2013 Rialto, Ca, Usa Age: 18 to 24 are my shoes to small?
I bought these pointe shoes a week ago and they hurt my feet just to walk in and bends my foot like the picture. I got a 10 W is that to small for my foot? And can I return them if they are to small?
Soft toe and regular pointe shoes are meant to be snug. Make sure you check your street shoe size against the Sansha conversion chart on the sizing tab on this item to make sure they are properly sized. Any pointe shoes can be returned within 30 days of purchase so long as they are un-warn, not broken in, and have not been altered (including having ribbons and elastic sewn in). If you have any other questions on proper fit or returns please give our customer service number a call at: 800-328-7107. - DDS Customer Service (08/05/2013)
Tiff 07/23/2013 Age: 18 to 24 what do the letters stand for?
What does the M,W,and X stand for with these shoes. And how do you know which to choose?
These letters stand for the width of the shoe. M stands for Medium, W for Wide, and X for Extra Wide. It is difficult to determine which width you would need without first being fit for this shoe, however we normally recommend going with Medium, unless you've had to purchase Wide shoes before. - DDS Customer Service (07/23/2013)
Tiff 07/22/2013 Age: 18 to 24 What exactly are these used for?
I'm not quite ready for a pointe shoe and someone suggested these, but what are they actually made to help me with or do? And I'm a 7.5 in pointe shoes and there are no have sizes for these, what size do I get?
This shoe is not to be used for actual pointe work. Most customers will purchase this shoe as a tool to get them used to pointe shoes (the feel, foot work, etc) before purchasing actual pointe shoes. The sizing is based on your street shoe size. Please contact Customer Service at 1-800-470-1664 for assistance in sizing this shoe. - DDS Customer Service (07/23/2013)
I know you don't need ribbons to go with this shoe but what brand do you suggest to buy if you want to put ribbons on them anyways.
Unfortunately Sansha does not make their own ribbon. I might try the Freed ribbon, style #FREEURW, though the color will not be an exact match. - DDS Customer Service (05/25/2013)
These are Demi pointe shoes- they are specifically for getting your feet used to the feel of a pointe shoe. They are basically pointe shoes without a shank. Hope this helps! - Balletbeauty (02/03/2014)
ballerina girl 01/18/2013 Herriman, Ut, Usa Age: 17 or under whats the difference?
so i want to know the difference between the soft toe pointe shoes and the regular shoes? i am going to be getting my first pair tommorrow and i just really want to know if these are good for beginners or not?
We suggest you order a harder box for beginners. The soft toe would be difficult to dance in. - DDS Customer Service (01/30/2013)
charlie brown 01/11/2013 Herriman, Ut, Usa Age: 17 or under are these for begginners?
i am going to be getting my first pair of pointe hoes soon and i was wondering if these were for begginers or if they ar for like anyone. And another question, are they long lasting?
This is for dancers who have never been on pointe before therefore it is definately for beginning pointe dancers. The life span of those shoes depend on how frequent you wear them. I wear them once a week for 5 months and they're still ok. - Littlemissgagamalik1995 (02/26/2014)
Some dancers choose not to wear toes pads in pointe shoes, however it is personal perference - DDS Customer Service (12/28/2012)
Since you do not go on you toes in these not technically but they do feel like pointe shoes so it would make it more comfortable ....remember putting pad will change the fit of the shoe depending on the kind you get - Kelleyg (01/02/2013)
These shoes have a more square box and a soft sole. These are build on Sansha's premiere last and are perfect for class, exams and performances. Soft demi-pointe are not to be used for pointe work - DDS Customer Service (12/26/2012)
Is the sizing according to regular street size; for example I'm a 36 european size and usually 5 in american.
You will find the sizing guide for this item by clicking on the sizing TAB next to the Description TAB, below the Add to Cart PINK TAB. This is the suggested fitting from the manufacturer - DDS Customer Service (10/22/2012)
