I bought these as an alternative to my regular foot undies and thought that it would give my feet more protection, but unfortunately the sizing was off. I am a size 6.5 and followed the size chart to get a size S. They say that they will stretch with use however, it felt like I was strangling my toes. I couldn't even get one on! I will return and have decided to go with a half-sole instead.

I usually wear a street shoe of about 6.5-7, so I got a small because I was afraid that a medium would be too big. While the half-shoes looked good and were great for turning, they were a bit hard to get on and they squeeze my feet and toes, even after cutting the toe-holes. I think that these half-shoes are a good buy, but recommend going a size up if you're unsure.

Dancer8801/01/2014IN LOVE!
I have always used foot undeez but I recently switched to dance paws and I'm never going back! My favorite thing about them is that the pad covers the entire ball of your foot so dancing feels seamless. There have been some complaints about sizing and the individual toe holes in the shoe. As long as you are fitted correctly and you follow the instructions on cutting the toe holes to fit your toes, you should be fine. I 100% recommend this shoe, My entire studio uses them now and you should too!

These "paws" are a little hard to get on in order for each toe to go through a toe opening. But once you have them on, they are comfortable and work well to pad the ball of the foot while dancing.

Dancer0873106/04/2013WAYYYY BETTER THAN FOOT THONGS!
Ok, so these are great!! I got them today and I really like them a lot more than foot undeez because
1. Foot undies are not durable at all
2. Foot things also are unconfy
BUY THESE EVERY ONE!!! the pads sit right where they should and they look great on my feet too!!

snowdancer03/05/2013UNCOMFORTABLE, HARD TO DANCE IN
I do not like dance paws. Maybe its because my toes are short or something but I really hate how each toe has its own hole and how they look. They bunch up near my toes and I have to keep pulling them to make them flatten out. They also take a really long time to put on.

Juana03/04/2013GREAT IF YOU DO CORRECT SIZING
I read every single review on this site for Dance Paws & FootUndeez and made my own call. I decided to go with Dance Paws instead of Footundeez because the only real complaint about Dance Paws were them being too tight. However with Footundeez, people complained about them either sliding off or ripping.
Many reviews suggested going a size up and that matched with the actual sizing chart on the Dance Paws official website. It's better to trace your foot on paper, measure the widest area, and compare the inches to the chart on that site. Like another reviewer said, it's the width of your feet that matters, not the length.
I wear a size 8 street shoe (Medium) but I ended up ordering a Large (Size 8.5-9.5). I ordered the Dark Nude Dance Paws on Tuesday night and got them Friday (I live in NY). My only problem was aligning my toes through the holes because my toes aren't as spaced out but I eventually got them through. My Dance Paws weren't uncomfortably tight at all! I wore them for 6 hours and I'll be trimming the excess fabric above my toes. Go with the dark nude and you can powder the Dance Paws with foundation to blend even better. Light Nude must be nearly white.

hayelle7202/03/2013LOVE THESE!
I tried so many types of foot thongs before this - Bloch, Capezio, Theatricals - and these are definitely my favorite. I wore a medium in Theatricals and Capezio and wear a medium in Dance Paws. These are the most comfortable, never shift around on my feet and feel the best when I'm dancing, turning and moving. Break in time was minimal. My skin color is right in between the light and dark so I bought the light and powdered them to make them closer to my skin color. They look much better. I love these!

sgrayxe20304/06/2012BEST I'VE EVER BOUGHT!
I could never find a pair of shoes that stayed on my feet until I bough these. They stay on and don't budge. Perfect for anyone who doesn't like pulling their shoe back on every 5 minutes. The only downside is that they tear easily. I would recommend them to anyone who needs shoes that stay on their feet!

They are comfortable, they are almost invisible on stage. All of my contemporary class got them. The only thing is that the holes start to rip with time, but they are great!

Sofia10/11/2009 San Diego,GOOD PRODUCT, SIZE UP A BIT
My daughter gets a lot of use from something I thought was a bit expensive, but, they are made to last! I think you should size up, she is 8 years old & we bought the medium.

These are horrible. I had mine for three months and all the holes ripped but two. I wear a 6.5 and I have very narrow feet but when I ordered the foot paws they were too small. I ordered a medium to small but my mom wouldn't let me return them so I'm stuck with 1 small and one medium. Don't trust this product. The foot thong three is so much better. Also they are way too expensive.

Anonymous04/27/2009REALLY NICE, BUT PRICEY
I've been using these shoes for at least a year now and while they are kinda tight at first, they did stretch out a little for me. Overall, I like them, just not the price.

Okay I've had these for about 6 months and haven't really been using them but lately I just started using them and will not wear anything else. They help so much on the turns then just going barefoot. If I go barefoot my foot sticks so these really did help. Jumping with them hurt just as much as barefoot, I'm starting to have to do more jumps so my next pair will be the padded ones. They do get really dirty after like the first class, but I think that just has to do with how clean where you dance is. Mine haven't started to rip or anything. Over all these shoes are so great!

Dance Paws are the best thing in the dance world! They are a bit pricey because they last only one year at the most and get really, really dirty! It feels like you're going bare foot but you can turn better because of the paws. BE CAREFUL: they can rip and tear especially if you wash them a lot. Eventually, the grip starts falling off the bottom too. They don't become slippery, even when you sweat!
When you buy them they come with instructions for care, storage, and wash (use them! it makes a difference!) Wash them GENTLY or they will wear out sooner. I don't recommend washing them more than 3 times in 6 months.
Please note, if they feel uncomfortable, give them time to form to your foot more. I promise you, you won't wear anything else for lyrical/modern classes!

Anonymous08/29/2008PRETTY GOOD!
This is my first time purchasing dance paws. I'm pretty happy about the protection it gives, but it is kind of hard to put on (the toes part) and takes awhile. But overall, they give good performance.

Heather08/20/2008ORDER A LOT LARGER THAN YOUR SHOW SIZE
I received my dance paws today and have to say I am VERY glad I ordered an XL in these. I wear a street shoe size of 7.5. On the recommendation of another buyer, I printed out the chart and I was well within the large size. However, just to be safe, I ordered an XL and they fit near perfect (toe holes still may need to be adjusted). It definitely doesn't matter what street size you wear but how wide the upper of your foot is. With full weight on my feet standing on the tape measure they measure just under 4 inches across. The XL's feel tight enough to be secure but not too tight that they become uncomfortable.

Spree04/20/2008LOVE THEM!!!
I love these shoes. They work great for Belly dancing and lyrical ballet. But a word of warning: Be sure to print out the size chart and check your foot compared to it. I have size ten feet but they are very narrow so a medium works great for me. My mom checked her size 7 feet and they came in at a large. The length of your fit doesn't matter so much as the width does.

Anonymous04/12/2008THESE RUN VERY SMALL!!!
I gave these dance paws 3 stars because they run VERY small!!! I wear a size 5 shoe so I got a small, and I couldn't`t even fit my toes in them! If this happens to you, you can cut the toe holes so they will fit, but you have to be very careful or they will rip. I cut mine successfully, but next time, I`m getting a Large! Other than the sizes running small, this product is pretty useful.

Queeni02/17/2008 California,
I love these shoes. They are extremely comfortable and are surprisingly easy to turn in. I would recommend getting 2-3 sizes bigger. I am normally a size 3 and I have an adult medium. If you have very wide feet, don't waste your money on these shoes.

Ballerina10102/10/2008GREAT
This is a great dance shoe because they are very breathable and they stay in place while turning. At one competition, we weren't allowed to use rosin on the hardwood stage but the dancepaws kept us from slipping around and falling. The only thing I don't like is that they get dirty easily, but just wash them every week or two and you'll be fine. Also, be sure to order a size or two larger than you'd think because they run small. I wear a Large dancepaw and a size 7.5 in street shoe; perfect size for me! I have pale skin (like paper white :D) and the light nude blends great, despite what some of the other reviews say. I've had my paws for a year and a half and am just now replacing them, and only because I accidentally ripped them. Lastly, these shoes look like you're dancing barefoot, unlike the foot undies that look like underwear (cute idea, better for class than performance) and better than foot thongs, which slide around. Long story short, I'm very satisfied with dance paws and would never wear anything else!

Becky04/13/2007 Flint, Mi,
I purchased the appropriate size according to their fitting chart and they were too small. My toes went numb quickly. I tried to keep wearing them, hoping they'd stretch out, but I couldn't stand it. In addition, I cut the toe spaces to fit, putting fray check on them, as suggested. VERY bad idea. Now the edges are all scratchy around my toes. Very disappointing for such an expensive product. I am still searching for a good modern shoe. ...

I love these shoes. They don't slip and they are very protective on your feet. I have chubby toes and it was difficult to get them in the holes the first few times, but they stretch. Now it is easy to get them on and off. The only thing is, they get dirty and smelly. I have had mine for over a year and they are still going strong.

Briana11/16/2006 Huntington Beach Ca,
Out of all of the shoes I've tried, I keep going back to Dance Paws because they are the least likely to start moving during the middle of my turns. These don't come apart as easily, and as many people have said, they are a little tight when you first get them, but if you dance a lot, they stretch out no problem...try getting a bigger size, I'm a size 8 street shoe, and I've worn XL Dance Paws just for comfort sometimes. I recommend these for sure!

NenaDancer08/01/2006 Houston, Tx,ADVICE BEFORE YOU BUY
These are nice, but I bought a size Small (size 5-6 1/2 and I wear a size 6) and they were soooo uncomfortably tight on my foot. I don't have fat feet, nor wide feet. So, I had to reorder them in a Medium. So before you buy, consider buying them one size larger. Other than that, they are a smart product, and you can snip the toe holes just a little bigger so they are just right.

DanceMomof3 01/06/2022 Detroit Lakes-mn Would you say these are comparable to the Dance Class Foot Mittens?
I am looking for a style/fit that is comparable to the Dance Class Foot Mittens, because that is what my daughter's teacher is wanting for her competition Jazz routine, but Dance Class discontinued their Foot MittensI can not find them anywhere.
These would be a close substitute for the Foot Mittens. They are the most similar in style out of the products we offer. - DDS Customer Service (01/13/2022)
