My last pair of tap shoes were so run down it was finally really time to replace them. I wanted something affordable but still functional as I use them for all kinds of things...teaching, rehearsals, auditions, etc. I was very surprised at how much I've enjoyed them. They seem to be holding up very nicely and I get lots of compliments on them. The best part for me was the price but they turned out to be a really great buy. I would say the sizing is pretty true to street shoe. I had read others' reviews and was scared into buying a half size bigger and then had to wait to exchange them.

JoJo2203/24/2014VERY CUTE AND NICELY MADE.
These tap shoes are vey nice and well made. The t-strap is adorable and just what I was looking for. I love that the heel is a bit bigger and not a very small tap on the back. However, I read several reviews before purchasing saying that the toe box was very tight and in return they needed to order a bigger size than their street shoe size. I ordered my normal shoe size because I have rather thin feet, thinking they would fit perfect then.. Once I got the shoes and tried them on and tapped around a bit (on carpet!) they were too big!! I could fit a whole finger behind my heel because my foot slid forward. So my recommendation is that, if you have thin feet maybe order a half size down to start with, since they will probably stretch out with use too. Mine are still rather stiff but I'm hoping they will with time and use.

MamaMG02/13/2014BEST BROADWAY STYLE TAP SHOE I FOUND...
When I decided to replace my old character taps, I was surprised to find that Capezio has made some pretty drastic style changes in their standard models. I needed a pair quickly, and I didn't want the hassle of having to attach taps, so I was basically limited to the Footlight Jr. and Manhattan Extreme. After trying several sizes of both models, including different widths, I was still disappointed with the fit, so I finally decided to try these. This shoe is super cute--everyone always thinks they were custom or very expensive--but I do think they run just a tad narrow in the toe box from sole to vamp. I normally wear a size 9 street shoe, and I ended up with a 9.5 M in this style. I have had them for about 6 months now, and I wear them to teach workshops and set choreography, typically 4-6 times per month but they still look brand spanking new. The leather is somewhat stiff; I keep hoping it will soften up a bit because I think it would lessen the "toe crunch" feeling on the tops of my toenails, but perhaps a bit more breaking in will do the trick. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend them, as I like the way they look on, and I appreciate the more almond/rounded looking toe over the weird shapes of the Manhattan Xtreme or Jr. Footlight.

evehimme08/18/2013GOOD, STYLISH SHOE; SMALL TOE BOX!
I have a wide foot (5.5 EEE), and so ordered the street shoe size I normally buy (7.5) in wide width. The toe box is very tight at the big toe knuckle - hoping that it will stretch a bit with use.
The heel height is lovely (I'm getting older, and the 3" just hurt now).
Good shoe, but ornate pleating is cutting into the comfort of wearing them.

How does this tap shoe fit? Order same as street size?
The suggested fitting for this shoe is to order street shoe size. This is just a recommendation since sizing is not guaranteed. - DDS Customer Service (11/14/2013)
