This unitard is a great piece! I use it primarily for teaching in, with a wrap skirt over top of it. The fabric is surprisingly better than I expected, a decent quality. As other reviewers mentioned, it is a little hard to get into, but as long as you are careful, it won't come apart. I have washed it in the washing machine, but I hang it out to dry. Not sure what would happen to it if I out it in the dryer, and I don't want to chance it since the fabric is 100% cotton. It will last longer anyway if it air dries. I am about 118 lbs, 5' 5 3/4" - but long in the torso, so I'm glad I ordered a Medium. Fits like a glove. Overall, a great addition to my dance wardrobe!
I'm a seamstress as well as a dancer, so when I realized that the zipper in this unitard is WAY too short to be able to put it on easily, I replaced it with a longer zipper. I've also had to repair the lower leg seam once and stitch up a hole that randomly appeared in the mid-rear - far away from any seams (did I catch it on something?)! The material is not shiny, which is nice, and it's very warm. I'm 5'4", 115lbs, and curvy with long legs. On my body, the unitard's torso is a bit long, the legs shorter than I'd like. The navy blue color is a not-too-dark navy, like a good denim jean.
When I first got it, there was one spot in the thigh area that looked like it's about to rip. It ripped the second day, I sewed it. Week later, the area between the legs ripped, and I kept fixing it every week for a month but I just got tired of doing that. It looks very nice, but quality is horrible. Maybe I just got a bad one...
I'm 5'10", 115 lbs and this unitard fits perfectly! I ordered the medium, thinking I probably wouldn't be able to get the sleeves over my shoulders (I'm all torso) but it is a great fit and very comfy. Highly recommended for super tall girls who don't have a lot to worry about on top.
I adore this unitard! It's very comfortable, doesn't inhibit your movement at all, and the stirrups are a nice touch. But as another reviewer said, this seems to be perfectly designed for tall, thin, flat chested dancers. If you're curvy and have a bustline over a B cup like me, you might want to order a size up. I initially ordered a M (my normal Sansha size), but it felt too constricting. I went up to a L and it's perfect.
I was a little hesitant to get this because I am 5'7", 110lbs and thought it would be too baggy for my height. I am SO glad I bought it though because it fits GREAT!!! I absolutely love the stirrup style! My only problem was that it looks really ugly when zipped up. I recommend this for tall thin dancers with flat chests.
