This is a great theraband and would recommend for anyone trying to strengthen their ankles. Only problem I have is that it's not quite strong enough but it does the job. This band is great for warming up your ankles with pointe shoes and it doesn't rip. Pretty happy with this product especially for the price.

NT AS STRONG AS IT SAYS

My daughter received this for christmas, she has been using medium strength so we decided to get a stronger one. Well one week later and its already broken it ripped right in half..... Either she is really strong or this is defective would like to return, but it isn't worth the shipping!!!

    GREAT BAND

I'll wear pointe shoes next February. My ballet teacher is already preparing me for that with the corresponding exercises at the studio. She also recommended to get an exercise band. Some of my classmates have the Medium and/or Heavy Weight bands, I tried them both and they didn't give me enough resistance so I ordered this Super Heavy Weight band. I love it and I can feel my feet getting toned and prepared for pointe shoes.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

I love to use this for pointe to strengthen my ankles. There are great exercises all over the internet plus this comes with a little guide with a few helpful exercises too. I strongly recommend, especially for those who will soon be up on pointe and need to strengthen their ankles.

    AMAZING!

I can already tell a difference if my feet with the strength and flexibility. This has done wonders to them. I have a high arch and fairly strong ankles, one ankle is stronger than the other and this has somewhat evened out the strength. I would defiantly recommend this to someone who has weaker ankles and want to work of ankle and foot flexibility.

    GREAT!

If you don't have naturally archy feet (and even if you do) and are still pursuing ballet, you absolutely need one of these. The band helps strengthen your ankles so much for pointe and in a weird way makes your feet more flexible. I like the super heavy weight because it works your arch more. I've had mine for about a year and there are no rips or anything, despite it being constantly used. Overall, great product. :)

    GREAT!!

I love this exercise band! The strength is great, it is challenging to use but not so much that it is frustrating. It strengthens your feet/ankles/claves really fast. It is really good for ballet to strengthen your feet for pointe.

    GREAT FOR AWHILE

I love thera-bands and I have about six in different strengths. Some are Bunheads and some are the original Thera-band brand, and I definitely would say Bunheads are by far the better choice. With that I do have to say though that even with this being the hardest, it is not "Super Heavy Weight". I have fairly strong ankles/feet so this band got easy pretty fast and now I double up with a medium band and the super heavy band, so if you have strong feet be wary of buying this and maybe do a bit more research on a different brand.

GREAT FOR GETTING A BETTER ARCH

I used this band for only 2 weeks and I could already see a difference in my floor pointe. If you follow the directions carefully for getting a better turnout it really does help! My tendus are way better now. I recommend getting this strength and just skipping the other strengths unless you're about to take your very first ballet class. If you've been doing ballet for a while you can strengthen your feet in class the same way the bands will. If this strength gets too weak for you, you can double up the band to make it stronger, but be careful when you double it up. It makes it more prone to breaking. Overall I think it's great for strengthening your feet, getting better arches especially if you're flat footed, getting a better turnout, and having a better floor pointe.

Heavy weight is a great weight! I recommend it highly! It strengthens my feet and it's perfect to put in my dance bag. It also doesn't rip easily.

Will this band help with leg stretches?

I would like to also use a band for stretching my needle and straddle split. Is this band big enough for all of that, or would you recommend I just buy it for ankle strengthening?

This band is 48" in length and is intended to strengthen the ankles and feet. I suggest the I-Flex or I-Flex Jr. to best accommodate the stretch you're looking for.

I dont think this is long enough, ill recommend the flexi strecher, they have it here too, this is just for your ankle. - Alegro (05/29/2015)

Which weight would i start with in preparation for pointe?

    Medium or heavy weight

I would start with the medium weight for beginners.
    - DDS Customer Service (09/10/2013)

It all depends on how strong your feet are. The medium strength is like paper for me. - Taylor5827 (10/17/2013)

Will this exercise band provide the finishing touches I need to go en pointe?

Im very close to pointe, I just want to strengthen my feet and ankles a bit more before I start. Will this band help?

Yes, when used according to directions, this item will help strengthen your arch and foot
    - DDS Customer Service (11/27/2012)

Of course it will :) - Brixoxo (12/22/2012)

Yes! This band is reccomended by my studio for pre-pointe work. With the instructions provided with this band, you can greatly improve the strength of your feet/ankles! - Balletmags (12/26/2012)

Absolutely, but you need to use it properly. Slowly do 25 reps rolling through your demi-point to full-point every day. It will make you look more stable and less wobbly when you're on pointe. - Tinydancer500 (08/06/2013)

What is the best strength to use for someone who has been on pointe a year?

would it be super heavy or just heavy?

We can suggest to start with the Heavy Weight and work up to the Super Heavy Weight.
    - DDS Customer Service (10/03/2012)

I would say super heavy. Heavy is too light for me and I'm not even on pointe yet. - Brixoxo (12/22/2012)

    Super Heavy - Taylor5827 (10/17/2013)
