Space Pack

Style No: BH1045

OUR PRICE:$6.60
RETAIL VALUE:$8.00 (Save 18%)

A Spacemaker by Bunheads placed between the first two toes aligns the big toe with the big toe joint to aid in the treatment and prevention of bunions. This helps to alleviate pressure and reduce inflammation of the bursa. Spacers are less stocky than the Spacemakers. They should be placed between any of the other toes to help prevent nails from cutting into adjacent toes. Also takes pressure off of soft corns. 1 pair of Spacemakers and 1 pair of Spacers per package.

Great for better alignment en pointe

    by: dancerachel - 07/16/2014

    Durability: 5 star rating

I ordered the space pack because I have occasional pain in the big toe joint on my right foot. I was pleasantly surprised with the other benefits it gave me. As soon as a tried the spacemakers between my big toe and second toe, I noticed that I was getting further over the boxes of my pointe shoes. Also, my current pointe shoes are not the best for my feet. Now that they're broken in, I sink down into the box that's too big for my feet. Because the spacemakers take up room in the box, they allow me to pull up instead of sinking down, increasing the life of my pointe shoes. (I wear the spacemakers with gel toe pads from Eurotard.) My only problem with the spacemaker is that it is so big. I have size 6 feet and fairly long toes, and the spacemaker feels bulky between my toes. This gets better the longer I have my pointe shoes on, so I think it's just something to get used to. Overall I would recommend these for better alignment and for use in shoes that are too wide in the box or too high in the crown.

    Nt too bulky

    by: rarasaurous - 06/15/2014

    Comfort: 5 star rating

I have the beginnings of what could be a bunion starting on one of my feet, I got these to prevent and more damage, but it love the fact that they actually make me feel more stable in my shoes as well. They are very soft ( like gummy bears) and don't pinch in my shoes. Plus I love the little extra inserts to protect your toes from more square nails, or long nails if your forget to clip them.

    Squishy Comfort

    by: DanceInstructor - 09/17/2013

I use these personally as well as recommend them to my students. They are not hard(er) like other brands. These are gel and form to your toes very nicely. Since they are gel they squish so it does not make it uncomfortable tight in the shoes.

    Saved me

    by: Spazzy Abby - 05/19/2009 - California,

These were great! When I switched to Bloch Seranade Pointe Shoes, my pinky toes were being smashed into the sides of the box because the shoe was a tad too narrow. My instructor recommended these and they worked like a charm! I only use the spacer, so I don't know how the spacemaker performs, but I certainly am impressed with how well the tiny spacers work! They saved my baby toes! I highly recommend these!

    Amazing

    by: Katy - 03/16/2009

I love these. I do have to try on pointe shoes with these on since they do make my foot a tad wider. But they work very well. I also recommend you keep these in a tub of baby powder to prevent them from becoming sticky and smelly.

    Super Duper!

    by: Jo - 02/23/2008 - Anchorage, Ak,

My pinky toe nails are formed a little strange and stabbed into my 4th toe, making it bleed and very uncomfortable. But after I used the spacers all that cutting went away! I was finally able to concentrate on my pointe work and not the stabbing. The spacemakers worked wonders for me too since I have hereditary mild bunions. They also helped in my foot alignment to land pirouettes and balance in general. (maybe it was just me improving in general, but the Space Pack sure helped out a lot!)

A must for all pointe dancers. Keeps proper alignment of toes and alleviates the pain on the metatarsal. I am so glad my friend told me about these.

  • Help please

    by: dancer4life2020 (07/09/2014)

um im new on pointe and I want to know like how to use these like where goes were and all that so if some one could help me thad be great

    - DDS Customer Service (07/10/2014)

The larger pieces are meant to be placed between the big toe and second toe, where the strap of a flip flop sandal would go. The thinner pieces can be placed anywhere that your toenail from one toe cuts into the next toe, to prevent this from happening. Because you're new to pointe, I wouldn't recommend using these unless your teacher has suggested them. They change the way your shoes feel and how they fit, so I wouldn't mess with them until you're a bit more experienced. - Dancerachel (07/17/2014)
