They are really comfortable and great for a wide foot. I have a really wide foot and these work perfect! But, instead of having a nice and tight looking shoe, you get a bunchy shoe. I mean REALLY BUNCHY!!! And they are like a mop on your feet because soon as I walked the first time, 2 seconds later they had stuff all over them! I would recommend the Capezio Juliet Canvas Ballet Shoe! If you want all those flaws, these are perfect for you! :)

NikkiH07/29/2014DURABLE, BUT UNCOMFORTABLE
I got these shoes last year in a size bigger than my street size. I will definitely be getting a different brand for my next pair. These shoes seemed to have restricted my releve and threw off my balance. I also noticed they don't seem to form to my feet well, I have a high arch and I would like for a shoe to emphasize that.
Maybe I should have gotten a bigger size, and maybe this shoe would work better for other people, but this is not for me.
On the positive note, they are VERY durable.

CaliAli04/28/2014NT WHAT WE EXPECTED
I ordered these for my 10 year old and was not happy with the item. They were cloth (not leather) and were so wide on the toe box area. We tried to tighten the fit with the small ribbon on top, but no luck. Now I get to go through the hassle of mailing them back. Definitely don't get these unless you are looking for a cloth ballet shoe, which I didn't even know they make!

CraneLake04/11/2014GREAT WORKING SLIPPER
My dancer prefers these canvas shoes over any other brand and type for past 2 years. When I asked for a reason why, the answer was: "You can fill your toes working".

These fit true to size and are quite comfortable. I love the split sole design as they din't interfere with my feet while I'm dancing.

Discouraged11/17/2013RUNS SMALL.
I purchased these for my daughter who wears a street size 8 shoe. After several attempts and several returns, we finally found that a 9.5 fit. This ballet shoe is not true to street size. However, once the correct size was found, the shoe was comfortable and fit well.

Prodancer09/03/2013OK SHOE
I love this slipper. HOWEVER I do not agree with the sizing instructions.
I wear a street shoe of an 8 and a ballet slipper of a 5.5.
Get a fitting before purchasing shoes. This is true for skates and boots as well. You cannot base a foot size on a street shoe size AT ALL!!
My two cents.
Your ballet shoes will always fit more snugly....there needs to be a better way of measurement "on-line".
Otherwise...this is a wonderful slipper and your foot looks very nicely pointed and in line with leg. The downside is...if you dance a lot they will come apart quickly.

LoveIT07/03/2013COMFORTABLE, MAKE FEET LOOK NICE
These ballet shoes are wonderful. They do not impede on your dancing if you have wide or bunioned feet, and they make your arches look very nice. They feel light and are easy to feel the floor through, keeping you grounded.

Bubby03/20/2013AMAZING
I started these two years ago and they form to my foot perfectly! I really magnifies my good features of my foot. The cons are that they are maybe half a size smaller than they should be, the quality is okay for the price. It falls apart easily, but that is why my parents buy me two every six months.

The canvas is really thin and doesn't really form to your foot. It's more like cotton fabric than canvas. The inside lining bunches and has started to come apart at the seams. Also, there isn't really any padding so there's no cushion for the heel.
The Sansha or Bloch Pump are a lot better quality and construction.

My daughter has been dancing in these for years. The last couple of pairs have shown a noticeable decrease in quality. The lining in not securely attached and I have to sew it down to keep it from bunching up. The pad under the ball of the foot has come apart on the inside. I used to be able to throw these in the wash and they would still stand up to the abuse, but now even with no washing and kid-glove treatment, they fall apart. She is due for a new shoe and we are going to a brick-and-mortar store to try and find a new "staple" brand that I can then order on line in the future. Many girls in her class like Body Wrappers brand of split sole canvas, so that's what we'll look for. She tried on Sanshas in the past and she felt the pads were too thick. She really liked the Capezois; it's a pity the quality is so poor now.

Charlene10/13/2009 San Diego, Ca,RIPPED AFTER ONE CLASS!
I normally wear Sansha Pros size 7m, but I hated that they felt wide and were bulky underneath the ball of the foot (due to the folding of the fabric). So I decided to try these ballet slippers hoping that they fit better (I bought my regular street size 7m). When I first got them, they came with large dry glue spots all over both slippers, but I didn't want to have to pay return shipping so I figured I would just try them out. However, after taking just one ballet class, the side seams on the slippers started ripping. Now, all four side seams of the outer canvas layer have ripped. They do fit narrower than the Sanshas and the cut is lower on the foot which makes my arch look better. But considering they couldn't even make it through one ballet class, I wouldn't recommend these.

Hannah07/08/2009 Burbank, Ca,REALLY GOOD SHOE!
I loved these shoes! I got these for a competition and found them wonderful. They made my arch look WAY better than they did in canvas shoes. The only reasons I gave them 4 stars was because they fit pretty tight (so I suggest a size bigger) and the seams on the sides ripped but that doesn't really affect your dancing. They don't really get holes near the toes though which is where my friends that have different brands get. Overall, I really like these shoes! :)

I'm NOT happy with this shoe at all. I have worn them twice and the seam is coming apart to both shoes. The fit is good but the shoe is poorly made.

These Ballet slippers become dirty really fast, and are made out of poor quality material. =( My daughter was disappointed in what looked to be a good ballet slipper.

Sarah04/23/2009 Texas,GREAT
I loved these shoes! I got them right before a performance, but I outgrew them in a couple of months. They fit right to my foot, the problem I had was that I have a really high arch and they were a little baggy, but that was it.

Angie01/26/2009NOTHING FIT
I have normal feet size 9-10 street, and a size 10 absolutely murdered my feet. It pushed my big toe in so much that it went numb. The next size up was too big. I've had this problem with a lot of shoes though. Other than that, it was baggy at the arch and the heel didn't fit properly. They're well made shoes and the cushioning is nice but the fit is pretty bad.

Hannah10/27/2008 Boston, Ma,
I love these shoes. I have very narrow feet and they fit perfectly, much better than the "Juliet" which was very wide. I wear 61/2-7 shoe and have these in a 7 and they fit perfectly. (I think I am the only one who didn't need bigger than street). Very comfortable, I highly recommend this shoe.

Katie06/23/2008 Milwaukee, Wi,AWESOME!
I got these shoes from the local dance supply store because I needed split sole slippers for ballet last summer. They fit my right foot really well but for some reason the fabric kept bunching up on my left toes. I think this is because my feet might just be slightly different sizes. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Kelley12/08/2007 Texas,THEY RUN SMALL!
I haven't done ballet since I was small, but our pointe class this year does a pretty extensive bar warm-up flat foot, so I thought I'd get some ballet shoes. The Cobras look great and are very soft. I like the way they hug my arch. HOWEVER, they do run small, which is a pain when you are ordering online and have to return them. Order 1/2 a size bigger than street and you should be fine, though. I haven't had them long enough to know how they wear.
I have to say, these shoes are exceptionally comfortable and fit pretty well. There is a little extra room in the heel, which can get a little uncomfortable, but good for the most part. Only thing is, the last time I danced ballet was two years ago when I danced for four years, but back then I could fit in children's shoes. So when I got these, I was a little confused with the straps because this is the first time I've worn adult ballet shoes! Overall though, very good shoes.

Ballerina girl08/27/2007 Waukesha, Wi,THESE ARE SO AWESOME!
I love these shoes because they are light and conform to my foot better than leather ones. The only problem is they tear after awhile and my whole insole came out. But I have had them for almost a year and they have worked great!

A.S.07/10/2007VERY GOOD!
I bought these shoes for a play because they were very light pink, almost white, and found myself wearing them to ballet class afterwards. They are thin and allow you to feel the floor better than any other ballet slipper that I have had. They do get dirtier faster than some other shoes but I just washed mine in the washing machine and let them air dry and they looked so much better. They also hug my foot and show off my nice arches without bunching and blend in with my light pink tights. Great value too!

Annie06/24/2007 California,SOOO GOOD!!!
I love these shoes! They really flatter my strong high arches. Unlike my old canvas Sanshas, which I hated, these made my feet look more narrow, instead of big and boxy. They are sooo comfortable! I highly recommend this shoe!

Kathleen10/31/2006 Maryland,
These shoes are great! Very soft. I've been dancing in them for about 6 1/2 hours a week for two months and they seem to be holding up fine. The lining does bunch up, but I just glued it back down. I have no problems turning in them on marley or wood. I did have to go up about half a size, because I have long toes, and sometimes they get a little baggy. Overall, I really like these shoes.

Not a bad shoe, because they are very soft. When I had bursitis in my metatarsal, I almost had to stop dancing, but I found these shoes and was able to keep going because they are so soft. They don't have any thick pleats either. My feet also don't slip around inside and my tights don't get bunched. The worst part was when you pointe your foot, the metatarsal gets all rolly and wavy, making your pointe look a lot less pointed than your feet really are.

Libby05/20/2006COMFORTABLE BUT...
These were very comfortable and great for dancing on wood floors, but when I danced in them on stage floors, or on the trap we use for color guard, the soles ripped out and so did the front part of the toe...

FireyRam04/22/2006 Twin Cities, Mn,COMFORTABLE, BUT LINING BUNCHES UP
They're lightweight, very soft, not a lot of fabric in the pleats, so they feel good in releve. The inside lining near the toes has started to bunch up; I had to cut it off. Otherwise they're great!

Talya 04/03/2014 Rockville, Md Age: 17 or under What size do I order?
I am an adult's 8-81/2, not a child size so what size would I get?
The suggested fitting is to order same as street shoe, so I would suggest ordering an 8.0 or 8.5. - DDS Customer Service (04/05/2014)
Natalie 10/23/2013 Age: 17 or under Why aren't the elastics attached?
How do we attach them?
The elastics are attached at the heel only - this allows you to sew the elastics wherever you want. It is a good idea to try the shoes on, and then criss-cross the elastics and mark on the inside of the shoe where you would like them to be sewn. A simple stitch with a needle and thread will work fine. - DDS Customer Service (10/28/2013)
I have ordered two of these slippers and the elastics on both pairs were pre sewn! - Balletdiva (11/18/2013)
