Just so you know, the picture is accurate. The longest part of the skirt in the back actually does go to the back of the knees (I tried it on and I'm 5'6) which can make it look a little weird if you have short or short-medium length legs. It's short in front compared to the back, but would probably be good for performances or to give you an interesting skirt for class. The material feels like good quality material, but this was a pass for me.

What a pretty skirt. It is flowy and full. I would definitely recommend for a dancer with curves. Yes, it is short in front. It doesn't cover the front of your legs, but is certainly flattering as it complements your shape. I am 5'8" tall. I wore the skirt on the true waist (29") and it overlapped about 6 inches. When you tie it on your true waist, it stays put. Quality, opaque fabric.

I made sure to read through all reviews to make sure this skirt would fit and it sounded promising. The material is beautiful and the skirt seemed great quality. Sadly it did not fit at all even around the smallest part of my waist (did not overlap in front and left a 2 inch gap in front of my crotch). I'm not build like a "typical" stick thin ballerina and I have a lot of muscle. My waist is 29 inches. If you have curves or a waste bigger than 25 inches around, sadly as most dance clothing, this skirt will not fit you... I am returning it today.

DancingGoddess04/06/2014NT A GREAT SKIRT
I had the opportunity to try this one without having to buy. Thank goodness for that. The front is too short. That's my primary dislike. The back is too long for the shortness of the front.
As far as quality, it's made well.
For those of you thinking double-georgette means two layer, it doesn't. What that means is double the number of yarns are used to make this skirt's fabric. It is twice as thick as standard georgette, though it still slightly sheer. The picture clearly shows a single layer.

This skirt is just the look my daughter likes: longer in back and shorter in front. Very pretty. However, the skirt just wraps around, no slit to thread the grosgraine ribbon through, so it doesn't tie smoothly. Too bad.

Icedancer08/02/2013GORGEOUS FLOWING WRAP SKIRT
I am actually a synchronized skater/ ice dancer and I wanted to find a wrap skirt for practice and dance tests to wear over leotards. I absolutely love this skirt, the length is perfect for ice dance, not too short in the front and not too long in the back, and it has a lot of flow to it. The skirt is only one layer so I was worried about it being too thin, but it seems to be fine and the quality of the chiffon is very durable. I bought another dance-length wrap skirt from another site, but it didn't have much flow to it and it's not as flattering as this one. I would HIGHlY recommend this skirt to a friend.

Love pointe girl12/15/2008THIS SKIRTS O.K.
I like the way it looked on the model but it didn't look that way on me. I bought this skirt last minute for a performance so I had to deal with it but it looked really nice on stage (my parents told me) but I would like a little larger and thicker fabric.

Moonlightmitzi06/02/2008 Colorado,LOVE THIS SKIRT!
I've had these in black and burgundy for quite some time and I love to wear them to teach class as well as take class. These skirts are cut beautifully to give nice flow of movements and to drape beautifully over your hips as all M. Stevens skirts are. They are not the more stream-lined skirt with less flounce like Mirella's, and are much longer and offers more coverage in the back. May not be the popular choice for the younger dancers, but they work well for the "mature" dancers like myself. These skirts may not be the best choice for pas de deux class because they are long and most likely will get in the way. Buyers beware that the term "double georgette" refers to the type of fabric, which is just a thicker type of georgette, and does NOT mean two layers of fabric. (This skirt is not as see-through as chiffon skirts.) Also, this skirt looks best if you tie it at your waist, not lower -- at or just above the hips.

Sheena05/23/2007 Monmouth, Or,
I just received my skirts in the mail today. I ordered a purple one and a royal blue one. I love the colors but after trying them on, I noticed the back is really long, which isn't a problem, but the front is very short (like an uncomfortable feeling short). I would have liked to see the ribbons be a little longer length wise; I just thought they were a little too short. Once I wear one to class, I will probably write another review on how they held up during class.

Fairly well made skirt. Good length. Just right for teaching. Kind of hoping that 'double georgette' means 2 layers. But still, I like the skirt.

I got this skirt last year, with the intention of using it for an exam but it was so big, that I wound up wearing a different one. It's very, very long - knee-length at the back and it's very full. So while it's a great performance piece, it's probably not great for class, unless you're really daring! Plus, I have the purple one, which is very, very purple.
