10/22/09 by Sydney from Wisconsin Pretty good
Rating: 4 If there were half stars I would give it a 3.5. Great shoe for people like me with narrow feet and narrow toes. I wear mine as a flip flop thong just between my big and middle toes and not between every toe. I am a size 8 narrow and got a medium, the toe holes are very small and very uncomfortable but the shoe does turn very good. A downside is that they get very dirty within the first hour of wearing them. An upside is that they do not fall down the foot and do not cut off circulation on narrow feet.
08/08/09 by Cass from Arizona Just like skin!
Rating: 5 I love these foot thongs. You can't tell that you even have them on and turning is made easy. For jazz, there is nothing better and even pointing your feet feels absolutely normal. I love these and would recommend them to anyone! I think I got size medium. I have size 8.5-9 feet and my feet are pretty wide, and these are great! Some may think that the elastic toe things would be annoying, but they give you a lot more free range movement. Get them and don't think twice, just keep turning! :)
07/06/09 by Aimee from New Jersey Nice
Rating: 5 I use these for turns as a rhythmic gymnast so they get plenty of abuse on the carpet and around the gym. They've held up great and provide a smooth, nice turn. It was a little tight the first few wears, but now they are very comfortable. I can't even feel the bands between my toes anymore and the rubber strip on the inside of the thick band doesn't hurt. (In the beginning, the rubber hurt the most, digging into my foot so I couldn't wear them long). They are durable, almost invisible on the floor, and they stay put for a bargain price! Definitely worth it.
06/09/09 by JulieB from Bothell, WA Way too narrow!
Rating: 1 Daughter has size 6.5 wide feet. She wears size medium Dance Paws in class but needs Bloch for recital. She has a pair of the Bloch II in a size large and they are too big. I didn't realize these weren't the same when I ordered them. When she tried to put them on today, her feet would not go in them. They are just waaay too narrow. The elastic isn't very stretchy. I even tried to help her. We could only get the big toe in. The other toes wouldn't go in and she doesn't have overly large or fat toes.
04/12/09 by Hayley Terrific!
Rating: 5 I have medium-wide feet and wear a size 8 and chose the size Large in these shoes. They fit perfectly, are easy to turn in and protect just the right amount of my feet. These shoes are a lot less obvious than Dance Paws and the color disappears onstage. I have been wearing them for about a month now and love them!
03/31/09 by Leslie Rating: 5 These are the best modern shoes I have ever worn. They are comfortable and have just the right balance of stick and slide for turns. If you have wide feet, you might want to go up a size since they fit around your foot, not lengthwise. If you're looking for a good modern shoe, buy this!
03/22/09 by Caitlin Terrible for wide feet!
Rating: 1 I bought these last year for a lyrical routine at christmas, and have only worn them a few times. I have a very wide foot, so they pinched my feet badly, and made it very uncomfortable to turn. Plus, the elastic ripped. The toe separators were also extremely uncomfortable, and my toes were blue after every performance. I would recommend foot undeez, considering they are MUCH more comfortable.
02/18/09 by Jo from Italy Better than FootUndeez
Rating: 5 I bought a pair of the leopard print footundeez awhile back and they slid around on my foot while dancing. I decided to get these because I needed a nude colored modern shoe and was unsatisfied with the footundeez. I wear a size 41 street shoe (US 9-9.5) and have a very low foot profile, aka skinny foot. After reading a few of the other reviews I decided to get the large. They do come pretty tight but like any other shoe after wearing them a little, they loosen a bit. I can turn really well on these and although the straps between the toes takes a little getting used to, they are really comfortable. I wouldn't recommend these if you have chubby toes.
02/05/09 by Aimee from New Jersey Rating: 4 The elastic going across the toes doesn't fit me well. The thicker one going around the foot is very tight. I wear a size 5 and I got a small--a bit tight for my taste. Color is satisfactory, a little lighter than my skin but not white or anything too dramatic. I like the look and how secure it feels. It also covers just the right amount of my foot. Slips only a tiny bit and no uncomfortable bunching when I point and flex. Tough to get on, but not too uncomfortable. Great shipping--cheaper than any other online and FAST!
02/05/09 by Liz Rating: 5 I love these shoes! I have an 8 shoe size, so I ordered a M. They were a little tight at first, but loosen up and conform to your foot very quickly. They do not slip off or rip easily, and the suede is excellent for turns. I highly recommend them!
10/22/08 by Anonymous Rating: 5 I really like these shoes! I recommend breaking them in a little bit before performing in them because they REALLY hurt under your toes when you first wear them. Another problem is after worn a lot, they tend to rip on the sides and even on the bottom!!!! They also get very stiff and not very comfortable after a while!!!
09/24/08 by Kaisey (pronounced Kay-zee) Good,,,But..
Rating: 4 I love, love, love these except for that they make your feet feel chalky and funny and dirty after wearing them!
08/12/08 by Anonymous Rating: 5 This shoe is amazing. I lasts soooo much longer then the foot undies. I have had mine for over a year and there is just a tiny tear.
07/08/08 by Melanie Rating: 5 I have had the foot thongs for two years and I love them! They are the perfect shoes for lyrical/modern/contemporary. The suede on the bottom is very helpful for turning. They don't rip easily unlike the FootUndeez, which rip within two months. These have two separators, which I believe are more beneficial then the 1 separator Foot Undeez. I tried on the Foot Undeez and I felt like the shoe was squishing my toe together. They don't slip off your foot. They stay right in place. I wouldn't recommend wearing them in a class that you aren't going to be dancing a lot in when you first get the shoes. You should break them in in a few dance classes first. I would recommend that if you are a size 6.5 or around there to get the medium and if you are around 8.5 to get a large. Don't worry about a size feeling too big on you because they fit snug and if you feel that they are too tight then stretch them out a little.
06/17/08 by Lisa Rating: 4 They work great :]
05/25/08 by Anonymous Better than Footundeez
Rating: 5 I love these. Everyone else in my class has the Capezio Footundeez and they turn and rip really easily. These are perfect and comfortable. Definitely better than the others.
05/10/08 by Laren Rating: 5 Absolutely amazing! My favorite shoes to dance in--I highly recommend them!!!
05/09/08 by Linz B from Novato, CA Awesome
Rating: 5 I have wide feet and these fit just fine if you get the large. I wore them intensively for more than a year and they lasted through about 5 shows within that year. They finally tore and I am buying them again. They may be a little uncomfortable within the first week, but after that they are absolutely amazing. They have perfect coverage of the entire ball of my foot, including right under the toes. Other girls in my class buy footundeez and they tear within a month. I would highly recommend buying these, they're a much better value than other modern/lyrical shoes.
05/09/08 by Lindsey from California Rating: 4 I loved these for the two years I heavily used them. For as much as I used them, they lasted really long, and only got more comfortable with time.
05/04/08 by Annie0302 from Indiana Eh
Rating: 2 My last review was a five but after wearing it for a few more dance classes, I hate it. It was a complete waste of my money. I mean, they fall off my feet and I got a small and they're still too big. I wear an 8 1/2; I don't have narrow feet.
04/11/08 by Annie0302 from Indiana Good
Rating: 5 If they had half stars, I would give it a four and a half. They are good but you can't do more than a double and measure by the width of your foot, not the length.
04/03/08 by DDDancer Rating: 4 I bought a pair of these shoes about 5 months ago and I still use them. I think that these are really great shoes for dancing because they don't come off easily and they last a long time. One of the downs on these shoes are that when you first get them, it takes a bit of time to wear into them. Some people don't like how there's a piece of material that goes in between each toe, but other than that, I would rate it a 4/5.
03/04/08 by Anonymous Not great
Rating: 2 These might work if you have really narrow feet and skinny toes. Order up a size though. I wear an eight in street shoes so I bought a medium, but they cut off my circulation in less than a minute! They have straps that go between each toe, so not the best option if your toes aren't really small. I wound up selling them to a dancer friend because it was going to cost more than they were worth in shipping to send them back.
02/25/08 by 13-year-old dancer Not so much...
Rating: 3 These shoes were pretty good at first, but about 10 min. into class/rehearsal, they started to pinch my feet and hurt like crazy. I would probably not recommend these to anyone because they were extremely uncomfortable and almost cut off my circulation.
02/12/08 by Jess from New York Perfection
Rating: 5 I'm very picky about my lyrical/modern shoes, and these are the best ones I've found. I don't like the FootUndeez or the half soles, since they don't cover the area right under the toes, which is a very sensitive area for me. The foot thong 2s are better, but they still don't offer as much coverage as I'd prefer. These shoes are amazing. They cover the entire ball of my foot, they don't slip, and the pale color is a near perfect match to my skin. The straps go between all of the toes (which is what keeps the area under the toes protected), which takes some getting used to. But they're thin suede straps rather than thick elastic ones, and I forgot I was wearing them halfway through class. 100 stars. Will definitely be buying these again =)
01/11/08 by Cass from Texas Love them
Rating: 5 So, some people on here are saying that they hate them, and others are saying that they love them. Well I'm glad that I didn't read the reviews before I bought them because I probably would have missed out on such a great product. I dance in them just about every day, and I haven't had a problem yet. I have really skinny feet, so they aren't tight or uncomfortable, and I have no problem with the toe spacers. Another one of my friends bought them, and she has wide feet, and she said they were just as comfortable. I definitely suggest this product for everyone.
01/08/08 by Giselle from Baltimore Rating: 4 Although they are a bit snug for those with wide feet, the Bloch foot thong III's are a good option for the dancer who enjoys being barefoot without compromising turns. Compared to the foot thong II's, they are easy to slip on, don't shift under your foot much, and the toe divisions are more naturally comfortable.
10/27/07 by Anonymous Rating: 3 They fit me just fine, but I had mine for about about three weeks and they ripped, and they ripped during my dress rehearsal! I thought they just snagged...on both feet. My dance teacher gave me hers, and they ripped during my performance!!! They work well for other people at my studio, maybe I have bad luck!
08/02/07 by Bailey from Idaho Fantastic!!!
Rating: 5 I think that these are WAY better than FootUndeez. Everyone at my studio got FootUndeez[except me] and everyone's have ripped. I got Foot thongs and they haven't ripped yet! I have had them for almost a year now and everyone else only had them for a month! Overall, Foot thongs last WAY longer than FootUndeez.
08/01/07 by Irees from Hawaii Rating: 4 These are TOTALLY useful because I'm taking a jazz/modern class. It's a little uncomfortable at first, but once you use them a lot, they feel fine.
07/14/07 by Hannah from San Diego, CA Great idea, but it needs MAJOR work
Rating: 2 I was required to get these shoes for one of my modern dances. One of the toe separators broke within the first 5 minutes of wearing them, and I wasn't even dancing! They are extremely hard to put on, unless you have at least five to ten minutes, these are NOT a quick change shoe. My classmates and I all had to cut some of the separators off in order to make the shoes more comfortable. But even so, these shoes are not extremely comfortable. They were fairly easy to dance in. Although, I prefer a closed toe shoe, but after all the issues, they ended up working out for us. Not something I will recommend to anyone any time soon.
07/09/07 by Jen from California LOVE THEM!
Rating: 5 Words can't describe how much I love these shoes! I just bought them earlier today, wore them to class and I LOVE them!!! I consistently did triple turns (something that does NOT happen to me often)throughout the class, and the shoes never fell off! They're so comfy, and I'll definitely be purchasing them from Discount Dance now that I know how great they are!
05/07/07 by Chrissa from New York Rating: 4 I normally can't dance in shoes, which sucks, because my whole dance team needs shoes to turn. We bought these for our upcoming competition, and I love them. They feel like they're part of my foot. They also helped the rest of my team turn. There are drawbacks to these shoes. They get filthy very easily, and they don't fit wider feet. I have incredibly wide feet (I'm a size D or E in pointes) so they look a little funny on my feet and make my toes turn a color, but they still work amazingly and aren't the least bit uncomfortable.
05/06/07 by Katie GREAT!
Rating: 4 This shoe is great! I love it so much! I thought it would be hard to turn in, but I was wrong. They are really easy to turn in and don't slip at all.
04/26/07 by Dancer Babi Awesome!
Rating: 5 This is the BEST ever! I can turn sooo easily in them! And their SO SUPER comfertable!!! This doesn't deserve just 5 stars, it deserves 100!
03/26/07 by Myah from Mandeville, LA Rating: 5 These are the best shoes ever! They don't slip off and they are so comfortable and help you turn way better. I recommend any person wanting modern shoes ... Get These!!!
03/12/07 by Jackie Bloch did it again!
Rating: 5 I love these shoes (Honestly I have the foot thong II but it still is amazing)! Bloch is my favorite maker of all dance shoes, and I think that these shoes are awesome! They don't fall off or move around on your foot, and these shoes are great for turns!
03/08/07 by Melinda from Kingston, ON Rating: 3 I haven't had a class in them yet, but if you have demented toes like I do, they're a bit of a pain. My toes have minds of their own and move subconsciously. So I have to pin them down in order to slip them in. They're a little tight around the toes as well. I recommend that if you have a wider foot and a size 7 - 8.5 street size, that you get size "L".
02/19/07 by Julie from Virginia Rating: 5 I love these shoes. They are SO much better than the FootUndeez because they don't slip on your foot and they last. I've had mine for a year and they finally ripped. I love them :D
02/13/07 by Khrissy from California The Real Deal
Rating: 5 I love my pair! They're the first modern shoes I've owned, but I would definitely try them when these wear out. In my Bloch brand jazz & tap shoes I wear a 6.5, so I got these in a small. They fit PERFECTLY and are easy to get on and off. I love that they are nearly invisible onstage, protect my soles well and don't slip or bunch. I wouldn't consider my feet narrow OR wide and I think these shoes are quite comfortable. I don't have any problems with the toe holes being too small or anything like that. They are worth every penny, and it is nice that they are less expensive than some of the other shoes.
01/21/07 by Anonymous Love them!
Rating: 4 They hurt at first... but they get better as you use them :)
01/15/07 by Christy These shoes are fabulous
Rating: 5 These shoes are amazing. They work like no other and they LAST. This is extremely important in a shoe and I just love them. You save a lot of money on them too, because of how well they last. They have great material for turning in too.
01/14/07 by Rebecca from Tucson, AZ With the right size, these are great!
Rating: 5 Reading through reviews for this shoe, it seems that most of the problems people have had are related to improper fit. The thickness and width of your foot have a lot to do with sizing, in addition to your shoe size. If you are a size 8 but have a very thick foot, you may need to order a large vs. a medium to accommodate. Like any shoe, these are uncomfortable if sized too small. Of course the straps and the toes would dig in if sized incorrectly. Mine fit perfectly, don't slip, and are very comfortable. I can even wear them inside my ballet shoes for a quick change, since they do take a while to put on. Once you find the right size, these really are a great buy.
11/18/06 by Lauren from Georgetown, MA Rating: 5 I use these foot thongs for my modern class, and they are so comfortable. They blend nicely so it's actually easy to forget that you're wearing them. My only complaint is that the bottoms get dirty pretty fast... I really like them though, and would certainly buy another pair to continue using them.
10/17/06 by Nikki from Minnesota Rating: 1 These are horrible!! They are uncomfortable to start with and they ripped the second time that I wore them.
09/24/06 by Kim Rating: 2 These aren't very good...
My whole dance team got them for a show. Mine ripped after less than a month of dancing. I sewed them back up, but the bottoms went black from dance floor grime. They ended up looking really stupid onstage, like all of us had filthy feet.
I threw them out after the show.
09/05/06 by Lisa Rating: 2 While these foot things feel very sturdy, they caused my toes a lot of discomfort. The toe holes were too tiny and they pinched at the base of the toes. They were very easy to turn in except for the pain they caused me. I'm switching back to the foot thong II's for comfort.
08/18/06 by Christine from New York, NY REALLY uncomfortable w/ WEIRD bunching!
Rating: 1 The straps on these thongs are soo extremely uncomfortable and they go in between every two toes which feels very strange! Also, after finally getting them on, the soles do not lay flat or mold to the shape of the balls of your feet :/ They do this weird bunching thing and the criss-cross straps on the bottom I could NEVER get to lay flat!
08/05/06 by Megan from Lexington, SC Rating: 1 I really thought the shoe would be like the FootUndeez, but it was hard to get my toes in those little holes. And after I did get the shoe on, it hurt the ball of my foot and between my toes. My foot did not feel free to move.
08/05/06 by Linda from SLC, Utah Don't fit wide feet!
Rating: 1 When these came, I was so excited, until I tried them on. I couldn't even get them on!! The hole for the big toe was WAY too small. I had my sister who wears the same size shoe but has narrower feet try them on, and they didn't even fit her. We had to send them back and buy some old foot-thong 2s locally to have them in time for a dance trip. I do not recommend them.
07/20/06 by Meghs from Virginia Finally!!
Rating: 5 They finally made a decent pair of foot thongs! I've tried everything and I even just went barefoot all last year, but I tried these and I actually like them. They stay put unlike the rest.
07/18/06 by dancer1 Absolutely fantastic
Rating: 5 These are the best pairs of footies I have ever used!! Highly, highly recommend these!!!
07/11/06 by Tracy from Detroit Great for turns!!!!
Rating: 5 I love this pair of shoes! They cover the entire ball of the foot. Unlike other modern shoes that only cover parts. Also, these shoes feel more sturdy and have lasted me longer than other brands I have bought.
06/28/06 by Kelsi from Atlanta Amazingly Comfortable
Rating: 5 These are wonderful. They were at a competition (Showbiz) and they are so comfortable!!! If you are thinking about some new foot thongs, this is the kind to get. They are much better then the old foot thongs.
06/17/06 by Heather from Atlanta Okay
Rating: 3 The foot thong III stays on really well, but the toe holes are very small and uncomfortable. So if you are worried about comfort, I would get a size larger than you think you need.
05/06/06 by Chris from Massachusetts Rating: 1 These are great to dance in however, the bottom ripped in mine after only about a month of wearing them, and the strap that goes around the whole foot gets kind of tight.
03/28/06 by Anonymous from Ramsey NJ This is the best product ever!!!
Rating: 5 I own one and I never feel it. I love to turn and it stays on so well. I would definitely buy this product again. GO FOOT THONGS!!!!!
03/27/06 by Emily from Minnesota Rating: 5 I own a pair of foot thong 3's and I really enjoy them they aren't as noticable as the foot thong 2's...I don't really like how the toe holes bunch up and I think that they would have been better if they changed the size of the toe holes...but all-in-all they were better than the old foot thongs!!
