Takes some breaking in, but good

I wear a street size 8.5W (wide), a Bloch full-sole ballet shoe size 4.5D, and a Bloch split-sole 5B (as they stretch more). I ordered a large in these, as I read in reviews that ladies with size 8 feet were fitting the large better than the medium. When I first tried them on, they were very uncomfortable. My 2nd toe seems to always aim for the 3rd toe hole when I'm putting them on, and the divider between the 2nd and 3rd toe is the most uncomfortable. I considered trimming or removing some of the dividers, as others reviewing this shoe have, but first I wanted to see if I could stretch/soften them at all. I'm glad I did! I worked all of the elastic, stretching & twisting it, then started working on the dividers. I rolled the sides of the dividers forward & backward (pinch them so that they're folded in half, making the whole divider skinnier), and after just 20 minutes the dividers are now soft and flexible enough that they don't hurt my toes anymore. If you aren't happy with the way the dividers feel, try doing this before cutting them away! I suspect that the shoe won't stay in place as well without them. I LOVE that they are smooth enough to turn in, yet have enough grip that I'm not slipping all over the place. When I practice at home on the wood floors, I find barefoot too difficult because my feet don't slide, but my ballet shoes are dangerously slippery. These, on the other hand, are just right. Finally, a shoe I can wear to practice outside of the studio!

These are amazingly comfortable

I used to wear the dance paws, then I went to the kind with the mesh and the toe holes, and now I wear these. These are amazingly comfortable and excellent to turn in. I will not be switching in the near future!

Way too narrow!

Daughter has size 6.5 wide feet. She wears size medium Dance Paws in class but needs Bloch for recital. She has a pair of the Bloch II in a size large and they are too big. I didn't realize these weren't the same when I ordered them. When she tried to put them on today, her feet would not go in them. They are just waaay too narrow. The elastic isn't very stretchy. I even tried to help her. We could only get the big toe in. The other toes wouldn't go in and she doesn't have overly large or fat toes.

Terrific!

I have medium-wide feet and wear a size 8 and chose the size Large in these shoes. They fit perfectly, are easy to turn in and protect just the right amount of my feet. These shoes are a lot less obvious than Dance Paws and the color disappears onstage. I have been wearing them for about a month now and love them!

These are the best modern shoes I have ever worn. They are comfortable and have just the right balance of stick and slide for turns. If you have wide feet, you might want to go up a size since they fit around your foot, not lengthwise. If you're looking for a good modern shoe, buy this!

I love these shoes! I have an 8 shoe size, so I ordered a M. They were a little tight at first, but loosen up and conform to your foot very quickly. They do not slip off or rip easily, and the suede is excellent for turns. I highly recommend them!

Awesome

I have wide feet and these fit just fine if you get the large. I wore them intensively for more than a year and they lasted through about 5 shows within that year. They finally tore and I am buying them again. They may be a little uncomfortable within the first week, but after that they are absolutely amazing. They have perfect coverage of the entire ball of my foot, including right under the toes. Other girls in my class buy footundeez and they tear within a month. I would highly recommend buying these, they're a much better value than other modern/lyrical shoes.

My last review was a five but after wearing it for a few more dance classes, I hate it. It was a complete waste of my money. I mean, they fall off my feet and I got a small and they're still too big. I wear an 8 1/2; I don't have narrow feet.

Not great

These might work if you have really narrow feet and skinny toes. Order up a size though. I wear an eight in street shoes so I bought a medium, but they cut off my circulation in less than a minute! They have straps that go between each toe, so not the best option if your toes aren't really small. I wound up selling them to a dancer friend because it was going to cost more than they were worth in shipping to send them back.

I think that these are WAY better than FootUndeez. Everyone at my studio got FootUndeez[except me] and everyone's have ripped. I got Foot thongs and they haven't ripped yet! I have had them for almost a year now and everyone else only had them for a month! Overall, Foot thongs last WAY longer than FootUndeez.

These are TOTALLY useful because I'm taking a jazz/modern class. It's a little uncomfortable at first, but once you use them a lot, they feel fine.

Great idea, but it needs MAJOR work

I was required to get these shoes for one of my modern dances. One of the toe separators broke within the first 5 minutes of wearing them, and I wasn't even dancing! They are extremely hard to put on, unless you have at least five to ten minutes, these are NOT a quick change shoe. My classmates and I all had to cut some of the separators off in order to make the shoes more comfortable. But even so, these shoes are not extremely comfortable. They were fairly easy to dance in. Although, I prefer a closed toe shoe, but after all the issues, they ended up working out for us. Not something I will recommend to anyone any time soon.

These are the best shoes ever! They don't slip off and they are so comfortable and help you turn way better. I recommend any person wanting modern shoes ... Get These!!!

Bloch did it again!

I love these shoes (Honestly I have the foot thong II but it still is amazing)! Bloch is my favorite maker of all dance shoes, and I think that these shoes are awesome! They don't fall off or move around on your foot, and these shoes are great for turns!

I haven't had a class in them yet, but if you have demented toes like I do, they're a bit of a pain. My toes have minds of their own and move subconsciously. So I have to pin them down in order to slip them in. They're a little tight around the toes as well. I recommend that if you have a wider foot and a size 7 - 8.5 street size, that you get size "L".

I love these shoes. They are SO much better than the FootUndeez because they don't slip on your foot and they last. I've had mine for a year and they finally ripped. I love them :D

These shoes are amazing. They work like no other and they LAST. This is extremely important in a shoe and I just love them. You save a lot of money on them too, because of how well they last. They have great material for turning in too.

With the right size, these are great!

Reading through reviews for this shoe, it seems that most of the problems people have had are related to improper fit. The thickness and width of your foot have a lot to do with sizing, in addition to your shoe size. If you are a size 8 but have a very thick foot, you may need to order a large vs. a medium to accommodate. Like any shoe, these are uncomfortable if sized too small. Of course the straps and the toes would dig in if sized incorrectly. Mine fit perfectly, don't slip, and are very comfortable. I can even wear them inside my ballet shoes for a quick change, since they do take a while to put on. Once you find the right size, these really are a great buy.

I use these foot thongs for my modern class, and they are so comfortable. They blend nicely so it's actually easy to forget that you're wearing them. My only complaint is that the bottoms get dirty pretty fast... I really like them though, and would certainly buy another pair to continue using them.

While these foot things feel very sturdy, they caused my toes a lot of discomfort. The toe holes were too tiny and they pinched at the base of the toes. They were very easy to turn in except for the pain they caused me. I'm switching back to the foot thong II's for comfort.

I really thought the shoe would be like the FootUndeez, but it was hard to get my toes in those little holes. And after I did get the shoe on, it hurt the ball of my foot and between my toes. My foot did not feel free to move.

Finally!!

They finally made a decent pair of foot thongs! I've tried everything and I even just went barefoot all last year, but I tried these and I actually like them. They stay put unlike the rest.
