11/09/09 by Anonymous Rating: 3 These shoes are good for starters in ballet, but I wouldn't recommend them for serious dancers.
10/25/09 by Melissa from Oregon Wonderful!
Rating: 5 I purchased these partly because of the reviews. They were all true! These shoes are true to size, and very comfortable according to my daughter. The price isn't bad either. You can't go wrong with these.
10/11/09 by Valerie from Birminham, AL Great value
Rating: 5 I ordered these for my 3-year- old and 5-year-old and was pleased with accurate sizing and quality for reasonable price.
10/11/09 by owensamo from North Carolina Great shoes!
Rating: 5 My daughter needed new ballet slippers, and these are great! She finds them comfortable, and they wear well.
09/04/09 by layballet from Pompano Beach, FL Love them!
Rating: 5 I read the reviews before I purchased & they were very helpful. My 5-year-old daughter wears 11.5 street shoe, so I decided to order a 12 (just in case). They are true to size & by ordering a .5 size larger, it gives us some wiggle room for growth. She says they are comfortable, too!
06/23/09 by Kimmie from Vancouver Rating: 5 We have a 9 yr old daughter and we've tried most major brands of ballet slippers. We found this one the best. Very true to size, very well made and normally can last through her dance year if they still fit. It's cheaper than stores and we will order them again if she doesn't advance to split sole.
05/07/09 by Anonymous from Tucson, AZ Wonderful!!
Rating: 5 We ordered this item for my 3.5 year old daughter's 1st ballet class. This shoe fit true to size and is perfect for our little dancer! Great quality for an even better price!
04/24/09 by Sara from Oregon Easy sizing!
Rating: 5 I purchased this shoe for my 3-yr-old daughter based on online reviews and couldn't be happier. If you are shopping for your first pair of ballet slippers, this is a great option to go with since you can buy the same size as your street shoe for a perfect fit. No conversions or guessing!
04/08/09 by Nicole Rating: 3 I bought these for my daughters recital and while the shoe itself is a very nice quality, the sizing has left me disappointed. First of all I could not find posted on this site what the B,C for width stood for so I had to look it up else where. I ordered a size C as my daughter has wider feet and size C is noted as Average every where I looked. The C is HUGE. I also ordered the shoe according to the size chart posted and ordered same as her street size and again the shoe is huge. This is the second time I have ordered shoes off of this site following the size charts posted and have ended up with a shoe that is way too big. Now I will have to order another smaller pair. Due to the pain of returning the shoes and paying return postage I am keeping these for next year but will be weary of ordering the sizes posted.
01/10/09 by Wanda from New Jersey Just right!!!
Rating: 5 Well worth the price, comfortable fit and true to size, will buy again!!!
10/17/08 by Yvonne from California Rating: 5 I just purchased my 2nd pair for my 4-year-old and they hold up wonderfully. They are very comfortable for her and if it weren't for her outgrowing them, they would really last a long time. I am so pleased with Bloch!
09/22/08 by Pamela from Jupiter, FL On Our 7th Pair
Rating: 5 My 6-year-old has been dancing in Block Dansofts since she was three. Also like the Capezios, but I think the Bloch slippers are slightly better quality. I usually buy 2 or 3 pr at a time in different sizes. I usually cut the elastic and double knot them from the start, so I haven't had any problem. They look great, too. Highly recommend!
08/18/08 by Cez from Cary, NC Okay ish
Rating: 3 These shoes are great for just starting ballet but the strings keep on going back into the shoe and don't let you point your feet very easily. And after a while the soles start to harden up and can make you fall very easily.
08/15/08 by Ashley from Alabama The best ballet shoes for toddlers!
Rating: 5 I decided to give these a try after ordering the Capezio Daisy slippers and returning them 3 times. The Capezio Daisy slippers were way too wide for my daughter's feet and she has wide feet to begin with! We kept trying smaller widths and sizes but nothing worked. It's too bad because they are so adorable, but that seems to be the only good thing about them.
We decided to order the "Dansoft" slipper after trying them on in a local dance shop. They are wonderful and so well made! My daughter plays in these all day and they still look really nice. What I love the most about the "Dansoft" slippers is that they are true to size. My daughter wears the same size in both "Dansoft" slippers and street shoes.
We will continue to stick with Bloch's "Dansoft" slippers.
07/08/08 by Riley Great for starting out
Rating: 3 When I first started ballet I loved them but as I got more advanced, I switched to the split sole. And I hate the stupid drawstring because you can't leave it out because it comes untied and when you tuck it in, the knot bruises my foot and the strings bother me. I prefer the split soles now, but these were great to start out with.
05/31/08 by Anonymous from Connecticut Loves It
Rating: 5 My younger sister had these shoes. She recently switched to split-sole, but when she had these she loved them. They last forever and help strengthen arches, preparing for pointe work. I myself wore these shoes when I was younger, and I recommend!
01/29/08 by Debbie from Ephrata, WA Great shoe!
Rating: 5 This is our fourth pair, our ballet instructor suggested we try these out. So we did and we love them! She not only uses them during ballet but also ALL OVER MY HOME, including outside. The quality and price are not matched by any other shoe I have found! We are only having to buy one pair per season instead of two or three!

Rating: 5 This shoe has been used at my ballet school for the past 14 years by our 3yrs - pre-pointe level. The older girls like the split-sole kind but only if they are on pointe, can they switch. It's nice looking, forms to point of foot, it helps them strengthen their feet, it holds up, and a great price. Ballerinas stick the drawstring in so no worries about shoes coming untied. My daughter had her first pair last year and we made it all year in the same shoe. We just bought a 1/2 size bigger for this season. If your child has a very wide foot, you can get D and E width from your local dance store.
07/17/07 by Anonymous from Wisconsin Great shoe for beginners
Rating: 5 Very sturdy, good shoe for young dancers. The leather is thicker than Capezio's and better quality overall. Until my daughter is ready for split sole, these are great shoes for her.
07/11/07 by Karen from San Jose, CA Used Them For More Than 3 Years!
Rating: 5 I own a pair right now, but decided to buy a new one since my old ones are wearing out. They lasted since last summer and I'm still using them today! I personally think these shoes work out for me. They are comfortable and I really think these shoes are awesome because leather and full sole shoes seem hard to get these days. I really do recommend Bloch's "Dansoft" shoes!
10/11/06 by Cheri from Newport, RI Working on Pair #3!
Rating: 4 We've just purchased our third pair of these shoes, so I guess my 3-year-old likes them!
They are soft leather, and very durable. My daughter insists on wearing them as street shoes EVERY DAY, and they hold up until she outgrows them. The reasonable price makes buying three pair in one year more bearable as well.
My only complaint about these (and my reason for only giving 4 stars) is that I am constantly having to tie these for her - - the elasticized ties come undone constantly, no matter how many knots I put in them.
Still - I recommend them!
05/18/06 by Laura from New York Rating: 2 These shoes will make even the person with the best feet look horrible!!!
