05/11/08 by Alexandra from Pueblo West Good for Beginners & Teachers
Rating: 3 If you are a beginner and are looking for some guidance when practicing at home, this DVD would be a good investment. The instructions are very clear and the dancers execute the moves nicely. It has the perfect breakdown for teachers. However, it doesn't offer much for the more advanced dancer. I found that there was a lack of creativity and the filming was rather "old-school." I could think of a couple of turns and leaps that they missed, but for the more traditionally accepted turns and leaps, this DVD pretty much covered it. I think it's a bit overpriced.
04/14/08 by Glenna from Portland, ME Highly recommended !
Rating: 5 This is an excellent DVD for teachers and dancers too. It covers the basic steps very well and moves on to more advanced turn and jump combos. Watching the DVD is a lot like being in a class as the instructor first explains each movement followed by the dancers doing it full out. I highly recommend this for your dance library.
03/03/08 by Brandi Rating: 5 This DVD was a rip off. If you have any dance experience at all, it will teach you nothing. I wish I had kept my money. Don't waste yours!
12/15/07 by Cheryl from Carlsbad, CA Great Dance Resource!
Rating: 5 I just bought my second copy as my original VHS is worn out, and I needed to upgrade to the DVD. I consistently watch this tape when teaching, as it has some turn and jump combos I've never done before. Plus, they are presented in a no nonsense approach, which makes them easy to learn. The turning switch leap is a favorite of mine ( and my students)!
11/02/07 by Emma from Australia Glad I didn't pay for it
Rating: 1 I took this DVD out of the library to have a look before I bought it. I'm glad I did. The filming is amateur, and the jumps and turns are nothing special. I watched it once then took it back!
08/24/07 by Teacher from Georgia Perfecto!
Rating: 5 This is an amazing video for intermediate and advanced dancers and older beginners. The steps are explained, marked, and then called out during the demonstration. Most go on to bridge it to a very short combination and/or show variations. A few turns mark the way beginners should be taught the step, initially excluding the turn.
06/17/07 by Dancer101 Rating: 5 This video is awesome, it helps you with so much. Every dancer needs it.
04/05/07 by Lindsay from Texas Rating: 5 Great! Shows almost every turn and jump! The combinations aren't that creative though. But a great refresher, especially for teachers looking for new choreography ideas.
05/12/06 by Shannon G from Flushing, NY LOVE IT! Have on VHS and had to get DVD.
Rating: 5 I am downsizing my VHS collection and trying to find DVD replacements for many items I have in my dance/exercise library. It is a hard task. I know this has been on DVD for a while now but I finally GOT IT! You have to GET IT TOO! Especially if you teach. The break down is the best I have ever seen. The MUST have for any dancers collection!
