I had the Xtremes and was happy with them for about a year, but after they started throwing screws and taps I bought these. The first time I put them on it was just like, WOW! Like an earlier reviewer said, the heels aren't quite flush with the floor, but I actually find it enables me to make more sounds faster. I've got the loudest, clearest sounding tap shoes in my class, the toe box is strong, but after they're broken in they're flexible to roll through (if that's what you're into.)
So basically, they're the best tap shoes I've ever had!

Well this is a really great tap shoe! I have been dancing for years, and these tap shoes have one of the BEST sounds I have heard. I made the mistake last year of wearing the Bloch split-soles, and my teacher could not stand the sound. But when I got these Capezios, I put them on, and she immediately LOVED them. They are great, but like any nice shoe they take a little time to break-in. Overall, a amazing shoe!

Better than Xtremes

We originally got the Xtremes for my 9 yr old competitive tapper, and they were HORRIBLE! These are better, but they don't sound as nice as the CG09's. Also, I had to special order these, since her foot is too small to buy the Hoof Masters thru DD....Start carrying these in Child sizes PLEASE!!!! She wears a shoe size 12, and a tap size 13.

I have been wearing split-sole tap shoes for years. The ones I have now have lasted me 3 years, but they are worn out, and the sound isn't too great anymore. I am hoping that these have a sharp clear sound and are comfortable!

My teacher owns these shoes and she loves these! They are sturdy but extremely comfortable. They also have a really amazing sound.

Like my old CG09's better!

I really don't like these shoes. I prefer the old CG09s and wish Capezio would bring them back. The backs of the heels don't sit flush on the floor and have trouble getting heel sound out of the shoes. I've only worn them a couple times . . . went back to my worn out CG09s.

I know I already wrote a review, but I'm writing another. These shoes are MUCH better than the "Xtremes". The toe box is stronger, it has better sound boards (no more metal), and I think they are more comfortable (but that's just me). When ordering these, make sure you really order a 1/2 size bigger (I usually wear 7 1/2 in Capezio, but I'm 7 in some other brands). I love the sound of these shoes, they sound better than Bloch's taps or the Xtremes.
