02/25/10 by Jessie from Portland OR Classical Pink is great for darker skin!
Rating: 5 I bought these in Classical Pink. I was about to give up on ever owning Pink tights as I have dark brown skin and every Ballet Pink tight looks really white and gross on me. These are very bright and orangey-pink so someone who is fair to light might want to steer clear, but for anyone tan to brown these are perfect.
They are a lot shorter compared to other Capezio L/XL sizes. I'm 5'4" and usually wear a medium in dance wear, but I don't think these would stay up if I wasn't wearing a leotard over them. Of course I would never wear pink tights for non Ballet reasons so that's okay with me. Anyone very tall or big may not fit them unfortunately and I would never put them in the dryer.
I'm giving them five stars though because for mesh tights they are very comfortable and soft (unlike the Danskin mesh ones). The band also isn't super bright or tight either. I haven't had any problems with the seam. The seam lines up nice and is obvious enough =p.
I would definitely repurchase these.
02/02/10 by Savannah from California LOVE!!
Rating: 5 AHHHH I just got these tights and they are FABULOUS. They are super soft and the color/thickness makes legs look more toned. True, they are a little short, but I usually wear my tights footless so it's not really an issue.
12/27/09 by Anonymous Great! :D
Rating: 4 I've noticed that the main problem with these tights is the orange-y color, but I prefer this color! I really hate the super pale almost-white tights... they make my legs look hideous compared to my semi-tanned skin! The other great thing about these is that they almost NEVER run/rip. If I had to mention a bad thing it would be that these tights shrink in the wash... ALOT. Just order a size up.
Over-all these tights are great! :D
12/25/09 by Abby Flattering to ever kind of leg
Rating: 5 My dance teacher made us get these for a performance and at first everyone HATED the fact that they were soooo pink and mesh... but give them a chance they grow on you. They make your legs look super toned and muscular and don't reflect light like normal tights. They make everyone's legs look amazing.
They are sooooo comfy too
now everyone at the studio wears these. They are the best ever. If you have bigger legs and want them to look smaller these are amazing. They mask celulite too.
If you have smaller legs and want them to look more toned or muscular these tights are also amazing,
they are pretty much the best thing ever.
12/03/09 by Anonymous Amazing!
Rating: 5 I have probably about 14 pairs of these and they are amazing and have no holes!
11/28/09 by Charlotte FANTASTIC!!!
Rating: 5 When I purchased them, I knew they were going to be very bright pink--but I WANTED that--I despise washed-out whitish "ballet pink" tights!!
I am 5'4, 102 lbs with avg. leg length. I got L/XL because a) Capezio runs small and b) Tights shrink when you wash them.
They fit perfectly! They are SO soft--but not like any other tights I've ever felt...it's hard to explain, but they feel sort of like material for a shirt or underwear at a camp store--soft, quickdry, silky, you know? Anyways, it's IMPOSSIBLE to snag these, and I am someone who is always adjusting their tights.
Color is gorgeous. They are opaque, so it's great for a whole class performance that have different skin tones; it creates a really uniform look.
The waistband is definitely softer than traditional sewn on bands, and it doesn't cut in at all--major plus!
The seam is pretty bizarre: If you felt the tights in the dark, they don't feel seamed at ALL (hence "mock seam"). But the seam still looks real! Love that.
I'm back to order another pair, these are awesome.
11/11/09 by Sarah from Atlanta, GA Love the color!
Rating: 5 I've always hated the way the required Danskin mesh tights gave me elephant knees, and that they were so light that I looked like I had marshmallow stumps for legs. These Capezio tights are definitely brighter than I am used to but I really LOVE them anyway. I feel like they are a much more flattering coloring and are much softer than the Danskin tights (Actually have nearly identical make up to the super soft Gaynor tights, but with a mesh pattern). If you are near the size line, order up. I'm 5'4" and 120 lbs and the SM were just a bit too short. They stretch wide but not tall. These tights match my Gaynor pointe shoes perfectly, though look a little funny with my faded/light Grishko soft shoes; however, I still love them and am very excited to wear them again.
10/16/09 by J Soft and comfortable..and bright!
Rating: 4 I just wore these to class last night. The pink is bright like some other reviewers had stated, so the photo online is NOT true to life, which is why I gave these 4 stars. I liked the opaque feature to them....and they are very comfortable, so I soon forgot about the color and enjoyed the feel. They seem like they will last a long time. Hoping they will fade with a few washes! :)
10/13/09 by Cassie Well made, bright, warm tights
Rating: 4 I bought these because they are required for performances at my dance school. They're well constructed, thick (but not too thick), and warm (good for fall/winter). I've had them for over a year and no holes or runs! Some people say they're itchy, but I think they're fine. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the pink color is really bright and intense!
08/28/09 by Anonymous Rating: 5 These are the best tights. I love them. They make your legs look longer and more toned, and are absolutely beautiful with my Grishko pointe shoes. I have talked to men who I partner with and they say its not as soft on their neck, or arm, so when you have pas, try to wear your newer tights, rather than older. Overall, amazing tights. I love them so much.
08/25/09 by Jai from Evergreen p.k IL Best tights
Rating: 5 These are the best tights ever. I wear them every time I go to class they are really soft, they don't fade when you wash them, they stay their color for like a year or two but they are the best! Love them.
08/19/09 by Lizzylou from California The BEST Performance tights
Rating: 5 Everybody seems to complain about the peachy color. Honestly it looks WAY better on stage compared to most of the "ballet pink" tights that turn white after a few washes. This tight fades slightly so it's not so vibrant and then it's perfect. Doesn't stretch a bunch so order up. Overall my favorite performance tight.
08/11/09 by ballerina girl from Arkansas Long lasting tights
Rating: 5 Our studio sells these and they have a wonderful long lasting life. They last longer than any tights we have ever had. Yes the color is bright when you first see them, but they look wonderful on.
07/23/09 by A ballet crazy girl from Midwest Pretty good
Rating: 4 These are pretty good. They are kind of thick, but I don't like really sheer tights so that's o.k. Yes, the hole in the bottom can leave out your little toe. They seem to run a little small. Probably not for long-legged people. I don't see what is so offensive about the color! Sure, it is really bright and a little orange but it fades out. These would be useful for pointe shoes. Overall, pretty good.
07/08/09 by Anonymous Run Small
Rating: 5 These are a great tight, and I have several pair. My studio requires them for performances and even though they are a more peachy shade than other tights, they are much more flattering on the legs (they don't make your legs look white like most ballet pink colors). I am 5'6, 112 lbs and prefer the LXL since they are longer.
06/29/09 by Cat from Maple Valley, WA Pretty good
Rating: 4 I first got these two years ago because at my studio you have to wear this kind for all performances. They are a little orangey and bright but they fade out a little bit after some washing. They run very small. I am only 5'2" now but my legs are pretty long and after getting the s/m when I was around 5' and then growing I had to soon get the l/xl because they were too short. The waistband is kinda small and can sometimes get a little muffin-topish but not too bad for me. The hole on your foot can sometimes come off of your little toe which is annoying but they are good for pointe shoes, putting in spacers and this way you can easily get to your feet. They tend to get hot so in the winter when it's colder they're nice but for summer not too great. Sometimes they get little snags but I have never had it really turn into much of an issue. Overall an okay choice, but I prefer some of my other tights.
03/16/09 by CBEAR from Texas Too Orange!!!
Rating: 2 Bought 3 pr. Quality is there, that will not be disputed. Th color is just TOO ORANGE. They have been washed numerous times and they are still noticeably more orange than any others in the class. Choreographer asked that they not be worn on stage due to the extreme difference to all other dancers. Too bad. The quality is there, just a bad color.
01/03/09 by Danielle from Haverhill Rating: 4 Ok so I had to get these tights for a performance. They are very comfortable and the seam is pretty nice but the color is very pink just to warn you. But I liked them.
01/02/09 by Jennifer from Manhattan Beach Awesome!
Rating: 5 I love these tights! They changed the way that they were made a couple years ago. I like these better because they do not run if you take good care of them. No need to hand wash them. Just wash them and let them air-dry. The color is very very bright at first but the color fades to a perfect ballet pink! Get like 4 pairs at a time.
11/20/08 by Erin Rating: 5 I Love these tights. They are so easy to move around in. Don't worry about the color, they look really good with a black leo and pink shoes. Very flattering.
11/18/08 by Kelly from Howell, MI Order EXTRA !!! They run like crazy!
Rating: 2 They run small!! My 8 yr. old is wearing Adult S/M size. They run like crazy. I am already on my 4th pair!!! ORDER EXTRA.
11/14/08 by Grace Don't worry about the color
Rating: 5 The color seems to be one of the main problems with other reviews. I was worried at first too, but DON't BE! The color is bright at first, but after a few classes and washes, the color looks perfect. And even with the color after you first buy them, it looks beautiful on stage. I have yet to have a rip in any of my pairs. I love these tights. I might just have to get them in black too.
11/10/08 by Tessie from California Rating: 5 These tights are very, very, very peachy/pink when you get them. I am 6'5" and have very long legs. Since they stretch out after one class they do not seem as pink. So, when you open the package don't think that they are for circus clowns they are very nicely colored when on a body. One thing that I don't like about these tights is that because they changed the mesh and thickness of seamline, they do get some runs but just put some cleaer nail polish on and they will be fine. These are great for shows because with all the lights, the pink color is perfect. Almost everyone at my studio owns a pair of these tights. Everyone likes them.
Personally, I think that DDS should have the Gaynor Minden tights because those are extremely flattering and they do not run. Though they aren't seamed they create a very nice look.
Anyways, if you like tights that are meshy then these are for you. When they are new they are very comfy and soft but after about 7 washes they start to get rough and aren't as comfy. These last me for about 8 months (I usually order 4 pairs at a time). Even for younger kids these are a great buy and will last you a VERY long time. Completely recommended!
10/12/08 by Anonymous Rating: 3 Eh. Not the best. We are required to have these tights for competitions and luckily their snags don't leave huge runs, but if girls have washed them different amounts of times (ex. one girl has a brand new pair and one girl has a pair that has been washed three or four times) the difference in colour is very noticeable. I wouldn't recommend these for class either, the colour is not very flattering.
09/25/08 by Anna from Fairfield, TX They are pretty good
Rating: 4 I got 2 pairs of these tights and they are pretty good. YES they are very peachy when you first get them, but after a couple of wears and washes they really tone down a ton! They still aren't pink, pink though, but they go with my skin color well, and I'm 5'2 so the short part fit perfectly, but to normal height people, you might want to order a size bigger than it says. And someone mentioned them not getting snags, they do. Not bad ones, and they don't run. It just leaves a little snag. They are VERY comfortable!
09/24/08 by Diane Pink or peach?
Rating: 5 The color chart, when ordering, showed a very pretty soft pink. Wanting a quality tight, I purchased several pairs but was disappointed to find the coloring was more peach than pink. They will be returned.
09/18/08 by Anna Rating: 5 They changed them AGAIN, but this is their best yet! I'm 5'7 and 120 pounds, so I get L/XL every time and have for years. But now they're actually long enough. I just cut a little out of the waistband at the back, and they're perfect! So so soft, and a less offensive pink these days, too.
08/11/08 by Francine Rating: 2 Does any company make tights with real seams any more? These aren't as flattering to muscle definition as the old ones are.
07/19/08 by Anne OK, if you are short
Rating: 2 I bought a pair of these tights just to try them. The pink color is very bright and peachy. The mesh is comfy but the seam is fake looking. I had really long legs, but these were so short! I'm 110 pounds and five feet, seven inches.
If I was short, I would love these. For all you tall people, I recommend Body Wrappers Style A45. They are cheaper than these too.
07/12/08 by lavendergrl from Idaho My favorite tights!!!
Rating: 5 I've just ordered a 4th and 5th pair for myself so that I can wear these every day of the week. They are durable, comfortable, and very flattering. I have very muscular legs so even though I'm 5'4" I order the L/XL. They fit better than ANYTHING I've ever tried, and after 25 years in this art form, believe me that I've tried them all. These are the required performance tights for my company.
06/09/08 by Lee Where are the old number 8s?
Rating: 3 I am always on the lookout for traditional mesh tights with seams. The seams on these look fake, and you can't see them from stage. Everyone at my studio used to get the number 8's. These are a second rate version.
04/27/08 by Anonymous from Georgia Rating: 5 Love them!!! Get a size up though because they are short.
04/11/08 by Julsnaa from New Jersey Good
Rating: 4 These tights are much better than the old version, which were way too itchy and coarse. These are soft and stretchy :)
03/19/08 by Ballet20 PINK!
Rating: 2 These tights are very nice looking but they are pink. VERY pink. My friend got them and they have faded a little but WOW are they pink when you first put them on. I prefer the more classic pink.
02/26/08 by Anonymous Rating: 5 These tights are perfect in every way. I would recommend getting the larger size though. I am 5'7'', long legged and 110lbs. I got a S/M because I am thin, but they still got too stretched. And when my fingernails were long and I was pulling them on they could poke a hole in them. I then got the large size and they are perfect and last forever. No holes! No runs! Just perfect! Don't think they are easily punctured by this review: I had the wrong size, after all.
And I like the more intense pink color. It matches my pointe shoes better. Then they fade to a more average pink and they match my flat shoes.
02/23/08 by Dasol from Carmel, CA Great
Rating: 5 These tights are really great. When I first got them they were bright pink but it faded when I washed it a few times. These tights are great on stage! Well, whenever we do shows they are required. Anyways, they are very snuggly and really comfortable. I totally recommend these tights!
01/25/08 by Katy from Louisiana Rating: 5 These are fantastic tights! They don't rip as easy as the regular tights do. When you buy them, at first the color is very bright! But within a few days, the bright color fades away into a normal pink color.
01/23/08 by E from Washington They're OK
Rating: 3 They're VERY pink. I ordered them thinking they were the number 8 or at least very similar...but they're not. They are kind of a mix between the mesh and the soft tights. The mesh is too thick, and doesn't show muscle definition very well..however it is better than the soft tights. I call them my "winter tights" because they're thick and somewhat warm!
11/29/07 by J.A. Best tights ever
Rating: 5 So the color is bright. It fades. Especially if you wash your tights with Clorox 2 (which you should anyway for sanitary purposes). These are honestly the best tights I have ever worn. They just get softer with each washing, they never lose their shape, have that great seamed look, and they don't run. Seriously. I have snagged my ring on my tights many times and never had them run. I do not have a traditional dancer's body (thanks to two children) and the waist on these tights doesn't cut in and looks smooth under leotards.
So get over your fear of the color. It fades. These are fantastic tights.
10/04/07 by Jennifer from Chehalis, WA Great tight, ugly color!
Rating: 5 These are fantastic tights. The construction is perfect, they're soft, durable, and look professional. It's too bad the color is so nasty. My only hope is that it looks amazing on stage. I have a very strange waist due to having two children and gaining a LOT of weight, and these tights seem to contain my tummy really well. I'm going to buy these again simply because they're amazingly comfortable.
I wish the tights I wore as a kid were still out there. They were extremely pale pink mesh with a REAL back seam. I wore those tights for years without a single run.
09/11/07 by Anonymous Rating: 5 I can't believe these tights aren't the most popular tights on here. They are the only pair that really look like tights and not pantyhose. If you are a ballet dancer you definitely need to get these tights. Anything else looks unprofessional.
07/27/07 by Aly from Washington Great!
Rating: 4 They were long lasting!
07/20/07 by Shamira from Portland, OR Rating: 4 Usually, I wear Danskin NYCB style #603. I tried these Capezio Professional tights when my local dance store was out of my size. Classical Pink colors in tights match my pointe shoe brand best, so the strong color of these tights was not a big concern for me. If you are on the tall side, you will find that these Capezio tights run a bit short, but if you put them on, leaving no room while gathering to pull up, you'll be fine. Yes, the color is quite bright and salmon-like but after a few washes it tones down. If you wear darker pink pointe shoes like Capezios, Freeds, or Suffolk Solos, then these tights will match decent enough after a few washes. I like these tights. They define my muscles well and are comfortable--and with no knee sagging, thank God! Two negatives: too short for the sizes stated and the convertible foot does not slip off or on easily. I will probably buy a few more pairs because of the durability, and also because I like the color after it begins to fade. Wash the tights in a mesh garment bag using the delicate cycle and hot water. Best of luck!
07/07/07 by JC Original is better
Rating: 2 I got these, and they are not as comfortable as the old ones (real seams). They have seams across the toes, making pointe almost impossible. I would not recommend them. The back seam looks slightly fake, too.
03/27/07 by Cassie from Phoenix,AZ I think these tights are awesome
Rating: 5 I think these tights are very comfortable and make you look like a professional dancer. The Classical pink color is a little bright when you're wearing canvas shoes, but with pointe shoes, they look GREAT! I highly recommend these tights for everyone!!!
02/11/07 by C.C. from NYC Rating: 5 These are, I think, the best tights around because they are very durable, last a long time, the colors fades to the right colors and stays, and the knees don't bag! So I recommend these HIGHLY! And yes, get the larger size.
02/10/07 by Colleen Rating: 5 I Love these tights. I agree, they are very, very pink, yes, like salmon or Pepto Bismol, but the color does not bother me in the least bit. I won't wear anything but these tights because they are so comfortable. I wash my tights in warm water in the washing machine and hang dry them. After a few washes, they become the Prima Soft color and they last an amazingly long time.
01/05/07 by Anonymous from New Jersey LOVE THEM!
Rating: 5 I love them sooo much! They last so long, like a year maybe a year and a half. But the thing is, those tights are so bright - like bright orange. BUT there is a way to get rid of the brightness. Wash it and put it in the dryer and after it is done, it is perfect.
Classical pink, I LOVE<3LOVE<3LOVE<3 THEM A LOT!
12/30/06 by Anonymous Pretty good for the most part...
Rating: 5 These convertible mesh mock seam Capezio tights are pretty nice. They are about 97% opaque, which is pretty good, but the sizing is sooo difficult. I referred to the fitting guide, which showed that I was a small/medium. I received these for Christmas and was VERY disappointed when I tried them on and they were too short. They are non-returnable, so if you plan on getting these tights, choose wisely on your size. DON'T always go by what the FITTING CHARTS SAY! If in doubt, get the BIGGER SIZE!
12/13/06 by Ashley from USA Bright Orange Pink!
Rating: 4 These tights are very comfortable and durable, but the seam looks fake and the color is bright bright orangey/bubblegum pink.
11/30/06 by Katy from Marietta, GA Decent!
Rating: 4 These tights are actually pretty good tights. One issue is I get elephant knees. They need to be worn to a few classes to get them stretched out, before performances. (I tried them at a dress rehearsal for a performance, and they were very... well... not flexible!) After wearing the for barre, they were fine! I have bought them 2x, but they need to be worn in first!
11/30/06 by Lizzy from New Jersey Rating: 4 These tights LAST! No, they are not as good as the old #8, but oh well. If the color bothers you, I do not suggest getting the Body Wrappers mesh because although they have a more realistic seam, the color is embarrassingly peach.
11/20/06 by Isis from Florida Comfortable, but...
Rating: 3 I ONLY wear Capezio tights because they are the only ones that last. I decided to buy these (in classical pink)because my teacher requires seamed tights for exams. These tights are extremely comfortable and soft (and warm!)but I looked as though I had been attacked by Pepto-Bismol. Quite honestly, these tights look horrendous, especially with my (pink) Bloch Pumps in canvas. These tights are a salmon color, I suppose, but look absolutely dreadful. I hope washing them numerous times tones down the color. You've been warned!
11/08/06 by Dancer Pretty good
Rating: 4 These tights fit me wonderfully, but the only problem is, I am extremely used to Prima Soft colors, so these seemed to be too bright.
11/05/06 by Anonymous from Chapel Hill, NC I preferred the originals
Rating: 4 I really preferred the first type a lot better. The new version is weird, too pink, & rips easier. The new brand is already starting to shrink after a couple washes, and the old version (which I have had for like 3 years--I still fit) has not shrunk at all. I still like the new version though, they are very comfortable. I do recommend these for performances, not necessarily for class though.
10/26/06 by Anonymous Just OK
Rating: 3 They're just OK...they aren't very flexible so it's hard to get the convertible on and off your toes.
10/18/06 by Anonymous Rating: 3 Very orange, you can't really see the seam. I really want the old ones back!!! They're O.K., but not as good as the old ones.
10/02/06 by Princess from Riverside Rating: 5 These tights are so comfortable and I think that it makes my dancing look better. I have a friend who bought the Grishko tights and they felt like sandpaper. These ones are so comfortable. They are also very hard to rip. The only problem is the color fades out so that they eventually turn white.
09/17/06 by Kayla Good
Rating: 5 These are wonderful tights. There is only only one thing I don' like about them. The pink is too bright and they don't look good against my Grishko flats or Sansha pointes. I would definitley recommend them though!!!
09/14/06 by lmk0987 from Virginia Rating: 4 The fabric feels nice against the skin, but the pink is bright, especially against lighter colored pointe shoes. I like that they are stretchier than the old Capezio mesh tights.
09/01/06 by Marz Better than the original
Rating: 5 I was a little confused when the other Mesh tights got replaced, but I prefer these. They're softer, and the hole on your foot isn't as small. The pink is a little bright, but I can live with it!
08/24/06 by Alex from New York City Rating: 4 These are great but the convertible part is a little small. I could barely get it over my heel, but I will order them again.
08/19/06 by Anonymous from Texas Rating: 4 I also ordered these tights by mistake, thinking they were the Capezio #8 REAL mesh kind, but discovered these tights really aren't that bad. They are very comfortable and out of my 4 pairs of them, NONE have a single rip. The seam can be kind of tricky to get aligned, and they are a strange orangey color, but I still recommend them.
08/19/06 by Disappointed. from California Rating: 3 I ordered these tights because they stopped making the style no. 8. They were pretty comfortable. The seam at the toes is slightly annoying. The mock seam is non existent.
08/13/06 by Anonymous Rating: 5 I ended up with a pair of these by mistake, but I absolutely adore them. They are much softer than any other tights I've owned, they don't sag, and so far haven't gotten any runs. I recommend them.
08/10/06 by Anonymous Rating: 5 I was very disappointed with these new tights. The mock seam looked fake and was hard to get in the right spot sometimes. The color was way too bright for me and looked weird against my Bloch pointe shoes. The good thing about them though is they're very comfortable. What was so bad about the Capezio #8 tights that they had to be discontinued?!?
07/06/06 by Michelle from Montana I love the fit!
Rating: 4 I have at least 4 pairs of these that still fit me and I love them. They don't sag and they don't get droopy after washing them. The only thing I don't like, is the way they make my hips look. If you have bigger hips, they make your hips stand out. My solution is to just fold them over. But I love these tights!
07/01/06 by Lory Lu Rating: 3 These mocked seamed tights are really just that- they don't have a real seam. Because of that, the seam is really hard to see and it makes it harder to put these tights on and have the "seam" aligned right. They are comfortable, but just not for great show.
05/16/06 by Tati from Florida Rating: 4 I love these tights; they are very comfortable, don't rip easily at all, and don't sag at the knee! The only complaint I would have, which isn't really important, is that the color is like an orangey/pink. But otherwise they are great!
04/07/06 by variationsonatheme from San Jose, CA Rating: 5 Best tights ever. I wear them in class, and I wear them in the world. A pair will last you for years if you're nice to them. The black ones are very chic, too.
04/07/06 by Flower from Portland, OR Loving them
Rating: 5 I love these tights. Yeah they cost a bit more but they're worth it! I love the way they feel and look! They seem to match the color of pointe shoes better! I would recommend these tights to everyone!
03/31/06 by Emily from Georgia Stroke of genius......
Rating: 5 Whoa buddy-these have to be THE BEST tights I have ever gotten. It's like they're mesh but not, so they don't get holes or stretch so they're too big!
Wonderful...
