11/18/08 by Heylee Luv Da Shoes!!!
Rating: 5 These shoes are unbelievably awesome. They are very comfortable (well at least for my feet). I would suggest getting a medium shank at the least if you have a fair good arch like I do (I wear a hard shank). Right now I'm starting Russian pointes but I'm going to go back to Grishkos when I'm done because I went to my local dance store, and they were out of the 2007s so I got the Russians and they fit my feet well.
Overall, this is the best pointe shoe i have EVER had!!!
11/13/08 by Dancer from Mississippi If you have strong feet and/or arches...
Rating: 5 Get at least a Medium shank. I've had my Grishkos for a couple of months now - I dance in them for about an hour and a half each week - and the shank on my right shoe is about to snap because I have high arches and strong feet. Other than that, I LOVE this shoe!
11/12/08 by Ballet Rox Rating: 1 These shoes are sooo loud.
Not comfortable and hard to roll though in.
11/09/08 by Anonymous Beautiful
Rating: 5 I got these and they made my feet look BEAUTIFUL They are very flattering. I wouldn't suggest anyone getting a Super Soft shank. They broke in REALLY FAST!
11/03/08 by Anonymous from California VERY GOOD shoes
Rating: 5 It is the only shoe I use. Very flattering and fits well :)
11/02/08 by Sarah from USA LOVE!
Rating: 4 I am in my second year of pointe and plan on getting this shoe again soon! I tried many other shoes but none of them felt as good as these!
I will say the I have a LARGE and WIDE foot (I have the widest they come in) and these fit perfectly, they lasted me over a whole year (9 1/2 months of pointe for thirty minutes a week)! And I love the fact they don't creak like my friends' Blochs! (Not to dis' Bloch or anything)
Anyway, thank you Discount Dance soooooo much for offering these shoes!
10/20/08 by Dancer2008 Love them!
Rating: 5 I really love these shoes! I'm on my 5th or 6th pair and I plan to keep getting them! Although, people should know that these are very specialized shoes. They have a very thin tapering box and a small platform. If you have very narrow and small feet, like me, then they will be amazing for you. If you have wide feet, then these are in no way for you, as far as I know. However, they do break-in well and last a very long time!
10/18/08 by Liesl Rating: 5 Okay so, these are my first shoes and I love them! They hurt your arches a lot if you don't break them in the traditional way. They fit me so well. Thanks Grishko for yet another great shoe!
10/16/08 by Pointechick from Tupelo, MS 2007's Rock!
Rating: 5 I have been on pointe for about 4 years now. The first pair I tried were Capezio's. Then I tried Grishko 2007's. I love them! They are by far my favorite pointe shoe ever! Although, the hard shank is a bit hard to break-in. I love the medium shank though.
10/13/08 by Julia from Texas Rating: 4 I have been wearing Grishko 2007s for 4 years on and off. Right now, I'm changing things up a bit and wearing Freeds, but I do have a pretty good idea of what Grishkos are like. All in all, they are a very consistent and dependable shoe. I find that they have a relatively basic fit and work well on most dancers. They break in a good place on the shank and they aren't too difficult to get up on. They also last a decent amount of time compared to many shoes. The downsides- they are EXTREMELY loud and since they are pretty basic, they may not cater to your specific needs(narrow heel, bunions, etc) In general though, I find that Grishkos are a great pair to use when you just can't seem to find anything else that will work. After 4 years on pointe, I've experimented a lot, but Grishkos are always a reliable shoe to come back to.
10/12/08 by Anonymous Rating: 5 I have these shoes in a hard shank and I absolutely love them. Kinda hard to turn on though cause the box is so tapered but that's probably just my foot.

10/05/08 by Sophie Love these shoes!
Rating: 5 Best shoes I've tried! I wore Blochs first, then Capezio, then Freed, then Capezio, then I got these and I've been wearing them for about a year and a half. I love them! They break-in quickly and I can wear them for about a week and a half before I need a new pair! They are easy to get up on (although everyone tells me I have great feet, so maybe that's it). My favorite thing is how dependable the shank is; it will always break in the same spot on every pair no matter what! I love 2007s!

09/20/08 by Ballet Dancer from California Almost Perfect
Rating: 4 I've tried SO many types of pointe shoes looking for the right kind for me. I have short toes, a high arch, but no ankle flexibility, so I can't get over the boxes of most shoes. Finally, I found these Grishkos and they fit almost perfect-I can get over them well, they last a long time, they are tapered enough, and they are very comfortable. The only problem I have with these is that after a while they get a "knuckled" look to them; the harder shanks can prevent this. I have horrible feet and I use a hard shank. These are the first shoes that actually look good on me! Yay!
09/19/08 by MasqueradeDancer182 from Houston, TX Wonderful Grishkos
Rating: 5 These Grishkos are amazing!!! They're my first pair of pointe shoes and I am so glad I chose them. They were fairly easy to break-in and I feel like they give me maximum support when I'm up on full toe. These shoes are a lot more comfortable than many of the other shoes I tried on and make me feel very confident when I'm up on pointe. I am very grateful that I chose these Grishkos and would recommend them to anybody who wants a pleasant pointe experience!!!
09/11/08 by Sarah from Mississippi Finally...
Rating: 5 After I'd been misfitted for pointe shoes, I was refitted correctly and now I have these beautiful shoes. I have a wide foot (I wear a XXXXX width), and these don't cramp my toes and feel pretty great - most comfortable pointe shoes I've ever owned.
09/09/08 by Magdalena This is a great shoe
Rating: 5 I really like these shoes. They are very pretty and look really good on the shape of foot I have. My old pointe shoes were the same kind and they lasted me a very long time. My old pair were medium shanks and they were always comfortable and never gave me blisters. The new ones are hard shanks and they made my toes bleed the first time I wore them, so I would recommend the meduim shanks over the hard shanks.
09/07/08 by Sabby Ballerina from San Francisco Very Nice
Rating: 5 I'm in my 5th pair of pointe shoes and Grishko 2007's have been the only kind I've gotten. The pair I'm using currently were broken in wrong but otherwise they are great. They are very quiet and comfortable. I would recommend these to dancers who are just starting out or who have been dancing for a few years now.
09/04/08 by Jillian from Washington Great for Beginners! Last a long time!
Rating: 5 I went through the shoe in about a few weeks, but they stayed firm enough to dance in them for a lot longer than that! They were very comfortable and I had no problems with them. But I accidentally broke them in the wrong way...but I would highly recommend them to anyone first starting out and wants something that would last a long time and would like something comfortable. My feet never hurt in them!
09/02/08 by Kara Love them to death!!!
Rating: 5 I would give them more if I could!!! I couldn't wear these for a while, because my foot was WAY too narrow, but my foot has grown, and fattened (Just a little bit) to where I don't have to drive to Pensacola 2 HOURS AWAY from where I live, to get pointe shoes that I don't like!!! I used to use Suffolk Solos, and please Discount Dance, start stocking those for my BFF Carley's sake! They look good on her, and she has to drive to Pensacola too, and it would be great for her if you started carrying them. Just a request! But,these pointe shoes are great, and unless my feet fatten up some more,so I can try a different kind, I'm fine with sticking with these. Please try them. You won't regret it!
09/02/08 by Anonymous from Chicago, IL Rating: 5 I used to only be able to wear Russian Pointe shoes and finally I fit into Grishko's. I love them and they don't give any injuries or problems to my feet. They show my arches and look really nice. I do go through 1 pair a week M shank. I am going to try hard shank and keep M for shows.
08/27/08 by Stopandstare My Favorite- BY FAR!!
Rating: 5 I love this shoe. I have been on pointe for eight years now, and for the first four, I simply could not find the right shoe. I tried all kinds of Bloch's (Suprima, Serenade, etc.), Gaynor Minden, Freeds, sooo many types. But after I found this shoe, I could not stop wearing them. The first day I wore them to class, my teacher was amazed at how well I could balance and how great my arch looked. Plus, they lasted longer than other brands I tried and are perfect for my feet. (I have really narrow feet but big bunions). Though one thing is, you have to make sure you break it in evenly to make sure the shank doesn't snap in one point. Also, I don't recommend this for beginners. Even the softest shank is pretty hard compared to other brands.
but I love this shoe- please give it a try!
08/27/08 by Shannon from Nashville B-e-a-utiful!!!
Rating: 5 I love these shoes!!! They make my arch look very pretty and support me very well. They break-in fast which really helped me in a performance this past spring. They last tong too. I recommend this shoe to anyone!
08/23/08 by Anonymous Perfect!
Rating: 5 I love the way that these shoes fit my feet. My first two pointe shoes (Prima Softs) I could hardly get up on. I thought that it was just my feet, but now my feet look beautiful in these! The box is strong but I would recommend getting at least medium shank (the super soft breaks in too quickly).
08/22/08 by Xanadu Great
Rating: 5 I have had about seven pairs of this shoe, and they are great. The one thing that is not so great about them (and in my opinion most Grishkos) is that they can be a big pain to break-in. But after about a class and a half they are amazing. They really mold to your foot and they flatter your arches. I have strong feet but not very amazing arches but recently I have been getting a ton of compliments on how good my feet look. I literally have been able to watch my feet get more and more amazing. I think they are good for people who have average feet. But I wouldn't use them if you have ultra-amazing feet. You'd go through a pair a day :).
08/16/08 by Jessie from Des Plaines, IL These are Awesome!!!
Rating: 5 OMG! I am a beginner when it comes to pointe, and my arch is strong, but not my ankles. When I got these shoes I loved them. My feet look beautiful in them, and they are comfortable. Since I've had these shoes, I haven't got anything worse than a blister(which are usually very tiny). If you are looking for a pointe shoe as a beginner, these are perfect! They aren't too hard to break in, but they're not super easy either. I am going to buy another one of these because mine are broken in(after a year) Plus, my feet have grown. Take my advice and try these.
08/16/08 by Alyssa from Lancaster, PA Love these Shoes!
Rating: 5 This is the first pair of pointe shoes I had...5 years later I still love them! I have tried many different brands and these shoes are the most comfortable. They break-in quickly and flatter the arch! I recommend!
08/13/08 by Georgia Nice, but...
Rating: 4 These are nice shoes but I've found out over time that they make your feet hurt way more then needed! Once I tried some Bloch's Axis (3 Stars) I found that Grishko hurt my feet more then other brands! They are great shoes once you build up your feet. Also, if you have super high arches (like mine) get a medium shank just because I found it much better.
07/13/08 by Ali Good!!!
Rating: 4 These shoes make my ugly somewhat wide feet look slender. They are easy to break-in and make my arch look amazing but still natural because it is!!! I suggest to be very careful sizing wise cause I normally wear a 6 1/2 or 7 and I got the 4 and the 4 1/2 and they were super tiny. So I got the 5 and they weren't much different but for the summer they will work fine.
07/08/08 by Jillian from California Yummy Shoes!!!
Rating: 5 I really-really love these shoes! I tried them after my Chacott-Coppelia II shoes busted out. I was recommended Grishko, and I will never look back! I have low arches and strong ankles so these shoes really flatter my feet. Plus I only got one small blister the first day I wore them. They break-in fast and almost keep up with my wear and tear. I will have to buy a lot more of these!!!
07/07/08 by Anonymous from New Jersey Awesome!!!
Rating: 5 This was the first shoe I tried on and I still wear it! When it was time to get new ones, I wanted to see if any other shoe fit, but I ended up with these again. I recommend to get the med. or hard shanks--easier to break- in and has a good arch!!!
07/05/08 by Ashley Bad
Rating: 2 I had these shoes and I thought that they were not too good. I wore them for about 3 months and they were still as hard as a rock! They never wore in, and they would always slip off my heel. Now I switched to Bloch Suprima! They are MUCH better!
07/05/08 by Meggie from California Nice!!!
Rating: 5 I love these shoes. I just got 2 new pairs and they look lovely--not a usual thing with my feet. I have nice arches but my feet are not tapered at all and I have a habit of sickling (I started dancing in a small studio, not a good idea! In most studios, anything goes, not professional) and these help align my feet. One of my feet is longer and narrower than the other and it's not a problem with these shoes. Just so you know, 1x is really narrow (I am usually 1x in other shoes and I am a 2x in these). Hope this helps!
06/29/08 by Mills from Louisiana Totally Awesome!!!
Rating: 5 These are the best pointe shoes ever!!! I have a high arch and strong feet, so these are great, you should try them!!!
06/28/08 by Anonymous Rating: 4 I have pretty strong feet so I wear the medium shank. Unlike my other shoes, these shoes hold up for a good amount of time. And they look good on my feet. I recommend these shoes to a lot of people.
06/23/08 by KYprincipalABT Rating: 5 I got these pointe shoes at a dance studio in my area because my first pair of pointe shoes-the Capezio Aerial died so badly. I had them for about three months and the box of the shoe went completely soft so that I could lightly push on it and the box would move around. I go on pointe about twice a week for an hour right now and those shoes didn't last me at all. My instructor is a principal dancer with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and he said that the reason the pointe shoes broke down and died so severely was because I had incredibly strong feet and I have really high arches. My feet are also incredibly sweaty so that helps. So anyway, I got this shoe and I have had it for about two weeks now and I absolutely love it! It is so much easier to balance and get on the box than the Capezio Aerial! My only complaints are that like some people have said, sometimes this shoe seems to fit differently. Like sometimes it's perfect and sometimes it's tight and other times it's too lose. Starting in July I will be on pointe 5 days a week for an hour and 15 minutes so I am hoping that these shoes will last me a bit longer.
06/20/08 by Samantha from Chicago IL OK for a while
Rating: 4 I do not have very strong feet, so I got the light shank. At first I thought I could not break them in at all, but then they broke within a year. I recommend this pointe shoe if you want to really work your feet. I also recommend the medium hank. Also, their sizes tend to run small. I had to send them back two times to get the correct size.
06/19/08 by Lourdes from Minnesota Good for certain feet
Rating: 5 I would recommend these for people like me with lower arches but strong ankles. They have a good break-in period too... I used to wear Freeds for performances because I could break them in quickly, but the Griskho's break-in quickly and then last for awhile - at least two weeks for me, which is a nice change to the wear and toss.
They are also very flattering, especially if you have to work for your arch! But people with super flexible feet - I would try something else!
06/18/08 by Maddy from Grand Rapids, MN Don't last
Rating: 1 These shoes are TERRIBLE if you have a high arch! They are very appealing if you have the type of foot that can point through the foot, but not through the toes. They lasted me about 2 weeks, TOPS!
06/16/08 by Marisa from San Diego CA I will never wear these again..
Rating: 2 I had these shoes a total of 5 times. The only reason I got them is because Blochs broke in too quickly and got soft really fast. You see, I have really strong feet. If I wanted to, I could kill a pair of Blochs in a few days to a week. So I got Grishkos because they are really hard. Turns out the shank wasn't hard enough. Every time the shoe "died" it was really only the shank that died. The box was always completely fine. The box in Grishkos though is really hard to get the half-pointe. So anyway, on the 5th pair, in class, I noticed that the shank was starting to buckle (as always) so I took them off and gave 'em a rest. But when I got back home I put them on and tried to break- in the demi pointe, and guess what...THE SHANK BROKE! It snapped in half!!! I definitely don't recommend these shoes.
06/12/08 by Giselle from California Okay
Rating: 3 I had these for my first pointe shoes, and they were not so great. My foot is extremely hard to fit because where my toes join my foot is very wide. But my toes are about as tapered as they come, and my big toe is longer than the rest of my toes. The shape of the shoe is great for me, but the shank was really soft and bent right under the toes a lot so that I was knuckling horribly after one class. Another girl in my class wore them and she had the exact same problems.
06/11/08 by Margo from Reseda, CA One shoe that works!!!
Rating: 5 I have these shoes now. I have the hard shank. But I know for sure I am breaking them in fairly well. I also wear Russian Pointe Entradas, but these shoes are very good when my other shoes need a break. I love 'em both.
06/11/08 by Chloe from California Good
Rating: 5 This shoe is really good. Lasts a long time.
I've bought two pairs and they are very flattering.
06/10/08 by Katie Rating: 5 This shoe is absolutely fabulous. It can fit nearly everyone. It is very durable and lasts.
06/10/08 by Maxx Rating: 5 Grishko's brand of pointe shoes is by far the best pointe shoe I have ever used. It's not only comfortable but also, I think safer for your feet. If you are looking at pointe shoes, try Grishko.
06/08/08 by Jill I loved these for a first pair!
Rating: 4 Oh my gosh! I love these pointe shoes! These were my first pair (though I wanted Chacotts). I thought that they were very durable. I just have one problem. When I put them on, sometimes they are too tight, other times they are big, and others, they fit like they should. I thought that it was kind of odd... but then again these were my first pair. I would totally recommend them (make sure you get a pro fitting first). The sizing was exactly correct too!
06/06/08 by Isabella Rating: 2 This shoe looks great on my feet, but I ordered the hard shank because I kill shoes quickly and it turned out to be a steel shank!!! I have to send them back and I am not happy! So unless you can bend a steel shank, don't order the hard shank!
05/31/08 by Cimmarina from Hollywood, CA OMG
Rating: 5 OMG, this is the best pair of shoes ever!!! Like, the first time I wore them, I got SOOOO many compliments on them! I have had the same pair for 1 year now, in soft shank- I dance so much on pointe, 1/2 an hour a week! I have SUPER strong feet and they look GREAT! I am sooo excited about the next pair. They look so pretty new, even though mine look super professional because they are so ugly. A lot of my friends get new shoes once a month, but that's only because they can't dance well enough to make these shoes last. I love them so much! I am going to hang the old ones up in my room! PLEASE buy these shoes! Way to rock it Grishko!
05/30/08 by Caitlyn from California Beautiful!!!
Rating: 5 These shoes are amazing!!!They are good for narrow(like mine) to medium feet but I do not recommend them for wide feet. My friend has very wide feet and they were much too tapered for her (she uses Grishko Elites now). They last a long time if you get hard shank but you must break it in the right place or they die fast. Overall, they are fabulous! :)
05/30/08 by Emily from Fairhope Rating: 5 These are the only shoes that would fit my crazy narrow feet when I first started pointe, and I still love them! Mine take AGES to die (even dancing two to four 1 1/2 hour classes a week), so I can wear them through Nutcracker and well into April. Most of the girls at my studio (2/3 of the senior company and several of the jr. company) wear them. I wouldn't recommend them for wide feet, though. All of us have pretty narrow feet, but one girl with wide feet started with them and had to change brands. These shoes have very comfortable and supportive shanks (but not so much that they prop me up). The vamp is high enough that I feel supported and low enough that I can roll through demi-pointe. I do have to flatten out the box a little when I first get them because it's very round. However, I have worn them for almost four years and never wanted to change. I love these shoes!
05/27/08 by Meg from Canada Rating: 5 I got these shoes for a summer intensive and were fantastic. Only problem was, I got soft shank by mistake and they only lasted 10 days. So if you are going to dance a lot (3 hrs a day) get hard shank even though they take a little while to break-in. I love them!
05/24/08 by Chloe Most popular model in the world
Rating: 4 So these have the best 3/4 shanks I've ever used. The shanks on these are just amazing. They hug my arch in an EXTREMELY supportive (not propping) beautiful way. All my friends, even non-ballet friends, noticed how high my arches looked! They feel wonderful on my arches too. Secure and supported, but not propped. Perfect. The vamp of this shoe is also lovely. The V is very flattering, and the vamp is long enough so I never knuckle yet short enough I have no problem going through the demi. Everyone should try a pair of these at some point. They are tapered enough for tapered feet, and not so tapered square feet can't wear them. They suit pretty much any type of foot except very very wide ones. I give these shoes four stars because as much as I love the way they feel, I can't wear them :( They go wonky on my feet and it encourages me to sickle... But that's MY weird feet, and shouldn't affect anyone else.
05/22/08 by Mikaela from Arkansas Great but....
Rating: 4 I got these shoes in Hard shank and I wore them 3 weeks before the shank broke at three, 1 1/2 hour classes a week. But they lasted another three weeks before they were totally dead. These shoes are super flattering for me and they turn easily too! What I did when ordering them was I bought a pair in the store and just used that as my sizing. I recommend getting two pairs in hard shank if you have strong feet and interchanging them and then when the shank breaks or whatever, use jet glue to revive them so you can use them a little more. Overall, a really great shoe if you get the right shank strength!
05/17/08 by Sarah from Fairfax, VA Good for those with slim to medium feet.
Rating: 2 These shoes do work well for some people. Since I have wide feet, they do not work for me because the platform is so small, that when I put them on, the shank would twist off my foot, making it look like I'm sickling when I'm not. I would not recommend these for people with wide feet. They do break very quickly at the arch, and some people I know who wear them say that the breaking at the arch makes it harder to break in the toe, thus making it harder to get up over the box.
05/17/08 by Anonymous Rating: 5 I have a very narrow foot so there was too much fabric on the sides for me. I'm getting a new pair today.
05/08/08 by Just Add Pointe Shoes from New York Very good shoe
Rating: 5 As a professional dancer, it's very important for me to find a good shoe. This is a very good shoe. As a warning, this particular Russian runs soft, so I would get a shank harder than normal. They give great support for a high, strong arch and the edges of the vamp are slightly harder for maximum balance and alignment. Very good shoe, way to go Grishko!
05/04/08 by Jayla OK
Rating: 3 OK, so I got these as my first pair and I am on my 3rd and all 3 times, they have been very hard to break-in, extremely stiff and unstable. Once they get to their full potential, they are great so hmm... I don't know how much I like these but I definitely will keep using them my whole career.
05/03/08 by Annie from Indiana Awesome!
Rating: 5 I have been wearing this type of shoe for a year and love them. The only down side is that they wear out quickly.
04/28/08 by Cassie from California Rating: 4 These are the only shoes I have owned. They're comfortable but slightly narrow. I have a wide foot and a high arch, and the box on these is very tapered. Excellent for a first pointe shoe.
04/16/08 by Anonymous from Connecticut Thank Goodness!
Rating: 5 I absolutely love this shoe! I have high arches and strong feet, and this shoe is great. I have the hard shank and they have lasted since December with jet glue. I kill boxes and shanks fast, and with a few dabs of jet glue on the shank and box when they are soft, and I'm good to go. I don't go over my box with the hard shank. It's hard to break them in, but I have discovered a way to perfectly break-in the arch. They are very flattering and are comfortable (for pointe shoes, that is). Definitely get fitted for these. They are great shoes for high arches!
04/16/08 by Shelbz Like them
Rating: 5 I liked the way they supported my arches. But the toe gave out VERY easily. It was only like 3 weeks and the toe was extremely soft. But it might be because I have pointe class 4x a week for 2 hours. Overall, they were good though. Highly recommended.
04/13/08 by Anonymous Just wanting you to know...
Rating: 1 First of all, these shoes are very soft. I tried them in the store and they already broke in! The platform is also very hard for a pointe shoe that doesn't last long. This is NOT my shoe.
04/11/08 by Miriam from Grand Rapids Rating: 4 These shoes are very nice. They are so comfortable that they feel like slippers. However, I have very high arches and so the whole 3/4 shank thing didn't work so well...it broke in a lot and then gave no support. I tried the hard shank and it was so hard that I had to spray it with water and bend it for an hour or more before it even looked like I had an arch. But that is just because I have really high arches.
04/09/08 by Mikaela from Arkansas Dead!
Rating: 3 I've worn these shoes, like, twice and already they feel like they are close to being dead! I had some Grishkos before and I broke them fast and they were medium shank, so I got hard shank to prevent them breaking easily, but that didn't work that well. All I'm saying is if you break shoes in really easy or have a really strong arch, these might not be the best for you.
04/07/08 by Erika from Georgia I love these shoes
Rating: 5 This was my first shoe and I think I'm going to use these shoes forever. If I were you I would buy them. Overall, these shoes ROCK!
04/06/08 by Jessica from Greenville, SC Okay but hard to break in
Rating: 3 I like the fact that these shoes hold up and flatter a lot of different types of feet. I don't like how hard the shanks are in the shoes; my feet are pretty strong so I think that these shoes are good for strong feet.
04/05/08 by Anonymous from Maine Rating: 5 These are my second pair of pointe shoes. LOVE THEM! I need to get a hard shank next time. But the ones that I have work wonderful for right now. They are awesomeness. I can't imagine dancing in a different pair.
04/03/08 by Dance 4 Christ Awesome
Rating: 5 I had these for my first pair and I am now on my fifth, soon to be on my sixth. I really think that these will be my shoe 4ever. I highly recommend these shoes.
03/24/08 by Rachel from Georgia A Good Shoe
Rating: 5 This is a good pointe shoe. I am on my second pair of these, and my only regret is that the two pairs don't feel the same. On the other hand, they fit well and are very flattering to most feet. They're sturdy and they last a long time.
It is an especially good shoe for beginners. I recommend them for a first pair.
03/19/08 by Gbugg21 from Indiana Worth a Try
Rating: 5 I bought these back in January. I use them for only an hour a week. My previous points have been Capezio Contemporas and Arials, GM's, and one other brand I can't remember - I know it had a metal shank and was made with matte satin. Anyway, the 2007's are the only shoe that have broken-in evenly. I can tell that when the shank dies, the box will be at that point too. I've never felt that with the others. Take a chance on them. But read up too (the-perfect-pointe.com); find the shoe that fits your toes and foot.
03/16/08 by NomsterGirl These are great
Rating: 5 I got these shoes a few weeks ago and I am making great progress with them. At first, I had the Capezio Glisse`and they were good but whenever I would bourre, my arch would hurt so bad. These shoes look really good, they feel nice and look nice. I would recommend them to people with really nice feet.
03/12/08 by Anonymous Good
Rating: 4 I really like these shoes but I have a really strong arch and they get broken in in one class and a few classes later they are broken. Just be aware that if you have strong feet they might not last a long time.
03/12/08 by Arlene from Cheyenne, WY Pretty good shoe
Rating: 4 I can balance really good on the platform, they look very beautiful on my feet but they are very very hard. I have had my pair for a month and a half, using them twice a week and they are still not broken in. If you want a long lasting shoe, well here's one.
03/09/08 by Cindy G. from Tennessee Great first pair!
Rating: 5 These were my first pair of pointe shoes. I got them the first of August-07. I still have them. Of course, I can't do much on them :) 2 of my friends that got theirs with me, already got new ones. These have lasted a long time.
03/08/08 by Anonymous Very flattering!
Rating: 4 This shoe looked great on my medium arches, and were the perfect shoe for me when they lasted. However, I snapped the shank in two and the box was mushy too. The 3/4 cut shank is great, though, and I recommend this shoe as a performance shoe, or to someone who does not go on pointe too often.
03/05/08 by Shan Rating: 5 I loved these shoes but I would not get them a second time, just because I want to try a different pair. Do you want to know a secret? When these shoes are dead, put the shoe that you normally wear on your left foot on your right and your right on your left--they work like new!!!
02/29/08 by Katy from Lousiana They are OK, but not great
Rating: 4 Since the Grishko 2007 has a 3/4 shank, it tends to break quickly, since your arch is right on the end of the shank. They are great shoes but can break easily. (Great for the beginner!)
02/27/08 by Jen from Wisconsin GREAT!
Rating: 5 I love these shoes! I have worn them for 2 years now and just bought another pair. They fit my feet perfect. I have not had one blister while wearing them. I think these shoes are great and are worth the money that I have spent.
02/27/08 by Anonymous from Hawaii Love these shoes!
Rating: 5 These are great shoes for those dancers with strong/high arched feet. I just tried the Ulanovas. The satin ripped after about 15 mins. of dancing. They fit my foot strangely. As others have said, the shank tends to break, but that is after I've worn them for about a month, dancing about 4 times a week in them. I buy a medium shank. The soft breaks in too quickly for me. I am a true size 8 and buy a 6 4X. Hope this helps.
02/21/08 by Myk My favorite point shoe!
Rating: 5 I have been wearing these shoes for several years and I love them! I have weird-ish shaped feet, narrow with huge bunions, and these shoes fit perfectly! They are slightly expensive, but are definitely worth it; however, I do not really recommend this shoe for people with a weak arch. Even the softest shank is pretty hard- but I love them!
02/11/08 by Anonymous Good Quality
Rating: 5 I found these shoes fine. They were of a nice, high quality and were worth the 50 bucks. And just a suggestion: people should not try to buy pointe shoes online without knowing they fit. Also, because dancers have very different feet and different needs, so any things like 'the box is too hard' or 'the shank died too fast' does not necessarily apply to everyone. Reviews should review the manufacturing quality and any details not covered in the description.
02/08/08 by Anonymous from Colorado They are OK
Rating: 3 These are OK shoes. I have a weak arch and these did not flatter my feet at all. The color is pretty at first but it gets dirty really easily.
01/29/08 by Anonymous Wow
Rating: 5 I have tried EVERY brand of pointe shoes and although I have only been wearing them for a month, I really like them. I have wide feet and with a XXXX (I should be a XXXXX) I only use "really big tips" and toe tape and I love them!
01/21/08 by Linz Rating: 4 I love these shoes. They were the first kind I had, then I went back to them again. There was one big problem. I have bunions and the 5X (the widest pair) cut off my circulation because I have to wear toe spacers. I would highly recommend these shoes for being comfortable and nice, but if you have bunions and wide feet, this may not be the shoe for you!
01/12/08 by Carol from New Jersey Rating: 4 These shoes are amazing, they broke in easily and still stayed supportive. The only problem I had with them was that the platform started to slump and became really soft after a while. However, the shank held out very well. I still use my old one for warming up because they're so comfortable. I recommend them--Extremely comfortable! I love em'!
12/20/07 by Helen from Omaha, NE Love them!
Rating: 5 I have been dancing on pointe for 4 years and I recently switched to these shoes and they are great. The 3/4 shank is very flattering, it is very supportive. The box is very easy to balance on and the shoe itself is beatiful. I would definitely recommend them.
12/20/07 by Anonymous from Michigan, USA Rating: 5 These are my first pair of pointe shoes and I just love them. My friend wears the same pair I do and dances six days a week. They fit my narrow foot--love 'em.
12/17/07 by Anonymous from Arizona OK shoes
Rating: 3 These were my third pair of pointe shoes. They look nice on my feet. Hard to roll through, but once you get on pointe, you can balance forever! Took a little while to break-in. I ordered a medium shank and these shoes died in about a month. [I dance on pointe 4 hours a week].
11/30/07 by Anonymous from Chicago I love these shoes
Rating: 5 I love these shoes. They are easy to break-in without breaking too fast. I've been wearing them for about four months with Nutcracker rehearsals and the box is still hard. I have strong feet and have the hard shank. It's not too hard and it definitely helps the shoe last longer. My first pair of shoes were "Freed Studios" and I hated them. The box was super soft and it felt like I was dancing in ballet slippers after two months. But these shoes are amazing! I love them!
11/20/07 by Anonymous from Maryland Rating: 2 I used to love these pointe shoes, but now they aren't strong enough. I can break them down in just a few hours to the point where I can't wear them any longer!
If you have really strong/high arches, settle for something other than these.
11/01/07 by Anonymous from Wisconsin Awesome!!!
Rating: 5 I love these pointe shoes! I had the Bloch Sonatas before and I could never get all the way up onto the box. But with these, I can and they look really flattering on my feet. I got these at my local dance store and they wanted almost $80 dollars for them! So I would definitely buy them from here.
10/26/07 by Anonymous Love them
Rating: 5 I just got these shoes and they really support my arch. All the pointe shoes that I've had lately wouldn't support my arch and they break-in too easily!!! These pointe shoes are great for those who need support for their arch <3
10/25/07 by Stefanie from Connecticut Rating: 4 I just bought my second pair of these shoes and I love them. They break-in easily and they look really good on my feet. They are also comfortable. One problem though, is that they break kinda quickly. Overall, I like these shoes.
10/21/07 by Katelyn from Pennsylvania Spectacular
Rating: 4 These pointe shoes are great. The only problem that I had with them is the right shoe was a tiny bit crooked, so I had to buy extra elastics, and sew them on in a criss-crossed style. This helped very much. I would definitely recommend these shoes, but get them fitted. If they work for you and you want to get another pair, get the same size you have and order it on here.
10/15/07 by Mattie from Roma, Italy Wonderful shoe
Rating: 5 I love these shoes. After years of trying so many different brands, I found my perfect shoe. I used to use Freed Classics (castle maker) but the maker was discontinued. These shoes are wonderfully lightweight, give my foot a better appearance than they normally look, and the break- in time is very fast. I use the Super Soft shank, roll through is very easy, yet the shoe is still supportive for springing up onto pointe. The shoe can be noisy, but I find that darning in the right places not only keeps the satin from tearing off, but also deadens much of the noise, and prolongs the life of the platform a little. Very flattering shoes, very comfortable, and very fast break-in! Love them to death.
10/13/07 by Anonymous from Georgia Love them
Rating: 5 I absolutely love this shoe.
I'm in my 5th year of pointe
and these shoes
work great.I can roll through easily and have a lot of support. Over all, they're a beautiful shoe.
10/12/07 by Liza from Michigan Best I've tried, so far!
Rating: 5 For a long time, I kept on getting fitted for Bloch's, which were horrible. The box was bulky and the shank bent in weird places. I couldn't get over them or balance. Then, I tried Russian Pointes (Polette, then Almaz.) Balancing was better and getting over was no prob, but they hurt (got bruised toenails, tips are still black after 8 months) and they arched in the middle, not higher, towards the heel. Finally, I tried Grishko 2007s! They broke- in quickly and are comfy! The vamp is really supportive, it's easy to balance, and they make my arches look almost professional. The 3/4 shank is just in the perfect place. Downside is, they're loud and the satin on platform ripped off after first Nutcracker rehearsal. My feet are narrow other than the metatarsal area (which is also "collapsible" but these shoes don't allow me to sink in!), so there is extra material on sides and heel. They won't slip off, though, if you sew on elastics.
10/08/07 by Emily. from Georgia Rating: 5 I'm 14 years old
and I really loved this shoe.
I have had troubles with others and this one over all has had to be the best.
I recommend for anyone.
09/26/07 by Anonymous Rating: 4 I must say that this shoe is great for me. I have a high instep and kind of wide feet. I wear a 3 1/2 XXX. They fit great! They are very comfy (or as comfy as pointe shoes get) and they make my arch look great. They break-in easy and last for quite a long time. This is my 2nd year on pointe and my 2nd time with these shoes. They are perfect for me. My last pair lasted a whole year, but I think this pair will probably last until maybe December, because I'm going to be using them more often. The heel stays on, doesn't bunch up too much, and the box is perfect. I love these shoes; Grishko is great. These are great shoes for the beginner. I love them to death. They fit so perfectly!!! THANK YOU GRISHKO!
09/20/07 by Rachel from Plano, TX Rating: 5 I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes! They fit my feet perfectly and I got to where I hardly ever had bruised toes. They are so gorgeous on my feet!
09/19/07 by Anonymous AMAZING to the HIGHEST level!!!
Rating: 5 These pointe shoes ROCK! They are the best pointe shoes I've ever had on my feet!!!
09/18/07 by Cally from Alabama The BEST shoes EVER!
Rating: 5 These shoes were my first pair ever, and they're still the only ones I'll wear after almost 4 years! They look sooo beautiful on and they roll-through great. I really love how they support my strong arches without stopping them from arching! I just LOVE them!!!
09/15/07 by Anonymous Rating: 5 I just got another pair of these for an audition, and they were great! I took only two ballet classes in them and they broke in! By the way, the ballet classes were in total 2 hours and 45 minutes. They feel great, and provide just enough support. The box is not too "boxy" and it is just wide enough for me to balance without any trouble. They are easy to roll through pointe, and they were easy to do pirouettes (my first ones on pointe!) with. A great shoe! At the audition, they worked great, no problems whatsoever. This is the only shoe I've ever used. Grishko is the best!!! They form to your feet really quick and the box doesn't get "mushy" fast. A great shoe! Buy these!
09/08/07 by Bunhead from Utah Beautiful
Rating: 5 I've worn Bloch for most of my pointe career but I didn't like their boxy look. These shoes look great! Their box fits right up against my feet and look very natural. I have strong feet, but the hard shank is EXTREMELY hard, I actually had to break them in!
09/02/07 by Ariadne Love 'Em!!
Rating: 5 I used to use Russian Pointe Shoes, but now I think I've been converted to Grishkos. They fit my feet very well and they look beautiful on. I feel like prima ballerina when I wear them.
08/20/07 by Anonymous Rating: 5 These shoes are great!!! They really flatter my feet. They are easy to break-in and I have had no problems using these. They aren't very loud, and they fit me perfectly. I love the way they look. For me, they last about a year. SO overall, this shoe is the best!
08/12/07 by Anna Rating: 5 I've gone through so many pairs of shoes and these shoes are amazing!!! All my other shoes made my feet sickle and these shoes made them better!
08/08/07 by newpointshoes Love em!!!
Rating: 5 I fell in love with these shoes the first time I wore them. They last a long time, so more advanced dancers wouldn't have to buy pair after pair, just 2 or 3 pair a year, and that's it! It fits any foot, from narrow to wide, unless you have super narrow feet. I wore them for four years now, and still love them. I would recommend the medium shank, but soft is great too, depends on what you like. Once again, they're a work of GENIUS!
07/31/07 by Dancing Queen from California Rating: 5 Great shoes! I bought one pair that was a super soft and it broke-in way too quickly. I tried a few other shoes but then I got these in a medium shank and now I can wear any other shoe. I have an archy foot and broke a pair of Freed Classics at the store once, so I am very happy with using these for usually about 3-4 months!
07/25/07 by Don't Stop Dancing from California Perfect Beyond Belief
Rating: 5 Grishko "2007" was my second pair of pointe shoes after my Bloch Serenades. My teacher recommended I try these after she saw my foot sickling in the Bloch's. These are the only shoes I have used since then. They are perfect! They look good on almost everybody's feet. They are hard and last a long time. I have been on pointe for 6 months and my first pair are still usable. I recommend these if you truly want to dance beautifully and have strong feet. I hope this helps!
07/14/07 by Alisa from California Love these shoes!
Rating: 5 These shoes are a perfect fit. I actually stopped wearing padding as soon as I started wearing these shoes (which would have been a suicide in my old, poorly fitted pairs). The only thing I don't like about these shoes is that they are SOOO loud! But as they break in, they become quieter. I just bang the heck out of them when I first get them ;)
07/12/07 by Anna from Simi Valley, CA Rating: 4 My first two pairs broke in too low, which made it look like my foot was folded in half. My next two pairs were perfect, except that one shoe was a 1/2 inch shorter than the other, which caused some problems.
07/11/07 by Karen from San Jose, CA Perfecto!
Rating: 5 I love these stunning shoes! I have had my first pair and I just started on pointe, and boy, I adore them! Seriously, they look flattering on your feet and though it hurts a bit, I still love them!
07/03/07 by Suki from West Palm Beach, FL LOVE!
Rating: 5 This is my shoe! (LOL) I was fortunate enough to find a perfect pointe shoe so young. However, I have very strong feet and have to buy hard shanks or else I'm buying new shoes every other week. These really are a performance shoe and not a class shoes though. They are made to break down fast which can, as we all know, help in a class though. All in all a good shoe, it just depends on your foot.
07/02/07 by Natalie from Illinois Great for narrow feet!
Rating: 5 I have very narrow feet and not the best arch, but these shoes were so flattering on my feet and made my arch look much better. They were already broken in so they were very easy to dance in.
06/27/07 by Ashley from California Good Shoe
Rating: 4 When I first got this shoe, it took me a while to get used to it because it hurt my toes so badly. But after two days, my feet adapted to them. I really like the Grishko "2007" shoe (now that it is broken in). I have good arches, but this shoe REALLY flatters my foot. And it is supportive. I suggest this shoe if you want your feet to look beautiful.
06/15/07 by Olivia from Petersburg, Alaska Best Shoe Ever!
Rating: 5 I love this shoe! I started out on Gaynor Mindens but got fitted for these about 2 years ago and absolutely love them. I do not have a strong arch at all and I can roll completely over on these - no problem! And they are sooo comfortable! These shoes are a definite must have.
06/15/07 by Chloe from Michigan Break In Easy
Rating: 5 These shoes are great! They are broken in easily and quickly. They are very comfortable.
06/07/07 by Rose from Durango CO Great shoe - shank wears out quickly
Rating: 4 I get hard shank on these shoes. I love these. I tried Bloch, Freeds, Capezios and these are my fave by far. These make my arch look beautiful but they're really easy shoes. I don't even have to wear toe pads, but the only problem is, I wear them out and the shank breaks in about a month. Great shoe wears out quickly.
06/05/07 by Kelsey from Colorado Rating: 5 These shoes are perfect for recital time or ballet concert time, because they last SO long. I have really, really strong feet and break through most shoes very easily. But these last at least a few months for me and they take just long enough to break-in. And to me, they are actually pretty comfortable (as comfortable as pointe shoes can be). But I have used the Ulanovas and Blochs before and have never liked them as much as these. I have probably used at least 15 pair.
05/31/07 by Paigeyyyy Rating: 5 I am 13 years old and this is my third year on point. I love these shoes! They are great. At first I was scared to get this shoe because I was afraid it would be hard to get over on, but it's so easy. They are hard to break- in but it is so worth it!!! Bloch stinks!
05/30/07 by E from Texas Bang 'em!
Rating: 5 These shoes are so supportive and allow you to really find balance and stability en pointe. The one drawback is they're very loud, so bang the heck out of them before you go onstage or the audience will be too busy trying to figure out why a ballerina sounds so heavy, to actually watch you perform.
05/26/07 by Anonymous Perfection Made of Satin
Rating: 5 I love this shoe with a burning, fiery passion. It is slightly noisy, true, but it is the best shoe I have EVER had. This is my third pair, still hard, and stayed hard, even though I accidentally got water on it! *whoops* I am taking them with me to Boston Ballet SDL. Ordering 3 more pairs, I KNOW I will love them forever. I don't even need tape anymore!!!
05/19/07 by Anonymous from Texas Rating: 4 I'm on my second pair and about to buy more. I have to say that the first pair had a supersoft shank and the second, a medium, and I could barely tell the difference. I love the way these shoes make my foot feel and the color is awesome. I really like these. Best Dancing!!!
05/15/07 by Missy from Florida Rating: 5 I loved this shoe when I first got it. It showed off my low arches better than any shoe I had tried(and believe me I've tried a lot). The shank stayed flexible, but I found that the box became too soft, too quick. Overall, the shoe is a great buy and I still love to warm up in them.
05/10/07 by Anonymous Rating: 3 I loved these shoes as my first pair, but they break way too fast. I wore one pair brand new, only during the 3-week summer camp when we did 45 minutes of pointe a day. On the fist day, the shank completely broke and I had to Jet glue them back together. Though these shoes are great for all of my best friends in dance, they are too soft for me. They are really good for people with flat feet and close to flat feet, or people who don't have a very strong arch. They are put together great, just not for a long time. I went over my box the first time I put them on!!!
05/08/07 by Naomi from Tokyo AMAZING!
Rating: 5 I LOVE THESE SHOES!!!
I've tried different shoes, but Grishkos were the best.
Here are a few tips that REALLY helped me: 1) Break them (but not too much). Just enough to roll through your arches. 2) Then flatten the box. I put mole skin on the top of the box (you don't have to). The satin is kind of slippery.
05/04/07 by Rusne from Nevada Ballet Theatre Great shoes!
Rating: 5 Grishkos are my most recent pairs of pointe shoes, and by far my favorite yet. I have an ingrown toenail, and with wider boxes, my toes hurt REALLY bad. But Grishkos help me lift out of my shoe, and has helped me with pirouettes. I did a lot of sewing to make my arch look nicer, so now they look very flattering on my feet. They break in easily, but are very comfortable. Great for professional dancers, not really for beginners, since the box is smaller and it is harder to balance!
05/04/07 by Emily from Oregon Awesome shoes!!!
Rating: 5 I'm on my third pair of these shoes and they are the best! I have very, very narrow feet and when I first started pointe, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a shoe narrow enough, but I got these in an X and they fit great. I also have very flexible, high-arched and strong feet, but they do not wear out easily! For me, it's the shank that dies before the box starts to soften. I absolutely love these shoes and would recommend them to just about anyone. Thank you Grishko!
04/22/07 by Marie Rating: 5 I absolutely LOVE these shoes! The color of the satin is beautiful and they make my feet look great, even though I don't have necessarily gorgeous arches. I used to have trouble pulling out of my shoes and I also have a really long big toe (in comparison to my second toe) so I had a lot of pain and pressure on my big toe en pointe in other shoes. But with Grishko 2007s, I can easily pull out and stay out of my box, as well as minimal pressure on my big toe! I have the medium shank and it only took me about three pointe classes to break them in. The only thing I don't always love about these shoes, is how fast the satin tears (the satin was completely off the bottom of my shoes after about three weeks). I've never darned pointe shoes before but maybe that could preserve the satin longer.
Other than that, these are the perfect pointe shoes!!!
04/13/07 by Sasha Immortal
Rating: 4 I've been dancing in these shoes for a couple of years now, and I tell you, THEY WON'T DIE. It does take a while to break them in, but after that, it's smooth sailing. I use the medium soft, because the super soft start squeaking when they become dead. Best shoe ever!
04/05/07 by Lana from Georgia Wonderful!
Rating: 4 This was my first pair of pointe shoes ever, and I especially liked them because the super soft shank ones were extremely comfortable. It was a little bit hard getting used to the medium shank, but they worked out well. The only thing I don't like about it is that, the ends on the toe box don't last as long, and after a while, they look really worn out and out of use. But all in all, these were pretty great shoes!!!
04/02/07 by Anonymous Rating: 5 These shoes are excellent. I've been on pointe for five years, and wearing Grishko 2007s for four of those years. The satin on the tips of the box wears out quickly, so I just cut it off before I ever wear them to avoid the hassle. With high arches and strong feet, I go through one pair about every two weeks. These are beautiful shoes!
03/17/07 by Elizabeth from Arizona It depends
Rating: 5 I love these shoes but different people have different feet and different comfort levels. I have a kind of wide foot and I love these shoes because I can't roll back on my little toe!
03/07/07 by Jemma Are u kidding?
Rating: 3 I loved these shoes: the fit, the flexibility, the color. But they only lasted me two rehearsals during Nutcracker (medium). Only if your feet need them!
03/04/07 by Madison Well ...
Rating: 3 I just got the Grishko 2007 and they are really hard and really uncomfortable. I don't know how people think they are easy to roll through. It may be because they are new, but I don't know how I will go to class tomorrow with them on.
03/03/07 by Ballet Lover from California Rating: 5 I LOVE THESE SHOES! They make my feet look great, they are really comfortable and they have good support! So what if the shoes wear down pretty easily; it's the price you have to pay for your dreams to come true!
02/26/07 by Sofi Rating: 3 I really liked this shoe. It wasn't the best for my feet, but it was a good shoe in general. My only problems were that, the satin on the platform ripped off after the first class, and the shank died very quickly (but they were awesome while they lasted and broke in easily).
02/20/07 by Lauren Great!
Rating: 5 These are my first pair of pointe shoes, and I started about a month ago. I like them a lot. I tried on many different shoes, and these where definitely the most comfortable. They are easy to balance in, and so far, are breaking in well too.
02/11/07 by Andrea Rating: 5 I got these as my first pair and I LOVE THEM! They looked really good on my feet. My feet are strong for a beginner and I got super soft shank (they don't sell them at DDS). The shoes died in about a month, so I got Signature Rehearsals. I probably am going to get 2007s again 'cause I love them so much.
02/06/07 by Chelli from Honolulu, HI I LOVE them!
Rating: 4 Grishkos are wonderful! I've been using them for about a year, and the satin wears out at the toe pretty fast:/ It kind of sucks, but then again, that could just be me. Anyone know how to make the satin on the ends last longer?
02/04/07 by Colleen from Ohio Amazing!
Rating: 4 I LOVE these shoes! These are very comfortable, cheaper, and last a long time! The only thing is that they are kind of loud, and the shank is really hard (which makes it harder to roll through pointe)-even soft shanks are kinda hard. I usually get soft, but I recently got medium strength shank and they are too hard. My first brand of shoes were Freeds (which I don't recommend), and I am SO glad I switched to Grishko!
02/04/07 by Dancer Rating: 5 I love these pointe shoes! They are so great. They are very easy to roll up on and to jump on. The shoes don't hurt your feet like some other pointe shoes do. I would recommend these shoes to anyone buying their first or seventh pair of shoes.
02/04/07 by Lisa from New Jersey Rating: 3 I have been on pointe for about 3 years now and I love these shoes! They are great because I have really narrow feet and when I wear other shoes such as Bloch, I feel like I am wearing blocks. These shoes are great because they really hug your feet so you don't feel like you have any extra weight when you're dancing and they are easy to maneuver. The only problem is that they wear out easily, but all pointe shoes do, so no worries.
01/30/07 by Smowl from Pennsylvania Rating: 5 I love these pointe shoes!!! I have had them for about a month and they still look great! (My other shoes looked and felt terrible within 3 weeks). These pointe shoes work great for me.
01/27/07 by Jenn Love
Rating: 4 I've had these for about a year now and I have 2 say, I love them. They flatter my arch very well and made pointe easier. I did notice that they broke in very easily and after a while, they began to squeak when I went on demi pointe. I love these shoes, but would like if the shank and box didn't wear out fast. I'm thinking about ordering a hard shank (I had a med. before) would they last longer w/ a harder shank? Any suggestions?
01/23/07 by Anonymous Rating: 5 These are definitely 'my' shoe. I don't recommend them if your feet are weaker though, as even the soft is really hard.
01/21/07 by Judy from Georgia This is a great shoe!
Rating: 5 These shoes are perfect for medium strength feet. They last long and give you an amazing arch right off the get go! I recommend them to anyone and everyone!
01/18/07 by The World's Greatest Ballerina These are my shoe!
Rating: 5 I recently got fitted at an incredible dance store, and I think 2007 might be my perfect pointe shoe. They're amazing for my tapered toes and wide feet. My only problem is that the box is slightly too hard for my liking, and the hard shank I bought is already bending greatly. Other than minor flaws, 2007s are perfect for my feet. I love them to death! =]]
01/17/07 by Anonymous Rating: 5 I am just dying to try Grishko, are these good for low arches, narrow heel but wide toe configuration?Because I really need a flexible shank so I can go over more and a low vamp as well. Help?
01/14/07 by ballet<3er from Texas Rating: 5 I have been using these for about a year and they are like the 5th brand I've tried. I have narrow feet and a really long big toe. They work but they don't look very pretty, so I was told to try a width bigger. Now they hurt and give me bruises. I don't know what to do. What other shoe similar to this is out there?
01/13/07 by AJ from Baltimore, MD THE BEST !
Rating: 5 This is my second pair of pointe shoes ever...and trust me, they are awesome. I dance 2 hours a day, a couple days out of the week and they still look brand new after 2 months. I recommend this shoe for everyone!
01/12/07 by Morgan from San Fransisco I Love these shoes!!!
Rating: 5 I bought these shoes a month ago and I love them!!! I've been looking for a pair that I really like. They break in really quick and I love that!!!
01/07/07 by Eva from Chicago, IL Good for about an hour
Rating: 2 This shoe breaks in way too fast for me. In the first hour of wearing them they look beautiful. But then the shank breaks right under the metatarsal area. So the shoe curls over, my foot bends in the shoe, and the sole of the shoe wrinkles.
12/23/06 by Britt from Lawrenceville, NJ Okay but not fantastic
Rating: 4 I almost bought these as my first pair of pointe shoes. They were pretty comfortable, but the box is very wide and square and looks a little odd. Instead I went with the Bloch Sonata and I love them!
12/16/06 by Christiane from California Rating: 5 I have used about 20 pairs of these and I never get sick of them. They are absolutely PERFECT! I began using them after my Blochs kept letting me down and dying after 3 uses. 2007's box is hard and supportive, and with the right care, they will stay that way.
Highly Recommended
12/12/06 by Anonymous Rating: 4 These are my first pair of pointe shoes. I love them, except I think that when I get a new pair, I will get the soft instead of super soft. The shank is getting too soft, too quickly.
12/11/06 by Anonymous Good and Bad
Rating: 3 These shoes were good for balancing and turning, but they were very loud and slippery. Also, they bent at a strange place, right above the toes, which made it hard to roll through to pointe.
12/11/06 by Haley from Maryland Yeah...no
Rating: 2 I've been on pointe for roughly 2 years. These were my first shoes. I liked them for about 2 classes. They hurt my toes and made them bleed. The shank completely broke in half within 3 weeks. The box broke right after that. It was like over night the box just turned to "mush", they were a waste of money. If you use, or are considering these shoes, I HIGHLY reccomend switching to Russian Pointes Polette model, they are 10 billion times better and they run about the same price. Grishko 2007= 1 month shoe
Russian pointe=3 months (and I'm just getting ready for a new pair)so I hope it helps.
12/10/06 by Melissa from California Wonderful!!
Rating: 5 These are the best pointe shoes, for beginner or advanced. They are wonderful for narrow feet. I had Bloch's Serenade, and I almost quit because of the pain, these shoes have NO pain!
12/10/06 by Anonymous Okay
Rating: 3 These shoes look very nice, but they are too loud. If you want this shoe maybe you should consider getting the Pro Quiet. Plus, I got the soft shank and they broke like almost after a week, but I have still been wearing them since August. The other bad thing is that the material on the platform gets really messed up too fast, it hasn't been even a half a year yet. This was my second pair, and my first pair was a Capezio Glisse. I loved this shoe because it lasted me one year, but this shoe is only about 4 1/2 months old and I already have new shoes to wear for next year. I recommend that you not get the soft shank. But, the shoe makes your feet look pretty nice.
12/08/06 by Dance Diva Wow
Rating: 5 I have a really high arch and my teacher suggested these. I got a medium shank and boy is it hard. My teacher said that if I was flat-footed, that these would last me TWO YEARS. My big toe is longer than my other toes by about an inch... I was nervous to begin pointe because of the pressure that would be exerted on my big toe. However, these shoes are quite comfy and easy to control. When I first got them, my feet CRAVED to be constantly on pointe!!!
12/08/06 by Tiffany Rating: 5 I love these shoes! They are very supportive and look really nice on my feet(I have size 7 in these). I have only had two problems with these shoes: The first is that they are super loud, so my friend recommended the Pro-Quiet ones, and the other is that they don't last as long...but that will happen to any shoe. Also, these shoes are about $20 cheaper than in the store. THANK YOU DISCOUNT DANCE!!!
11/18/06 by Calif.Dancer Rating: 5 Great shoe, very comfortable; however, they were a bit narrow for my wide feet. Try the Mayas or Ulanovas if your feet are wide;otherwise, this is a great, longer-lasting product!
11/14/06 by Ballerina from Virginia Love them!
Rating: 5 I really like them. The only problem is I have to sit and bang them with a hammer for a half hour! They are so loud! But other than that, they are really good for my feet because I have really strong feet, but not a big arch. Once I got their hard shank and it wouldn't bend! I had to put them over a humidifier to get them to move at all!!! But, they last a REALLY long time (with the help of Jet Glue).
11/01/06 by Erin from San Diego Rating: 5 I have tried tons of other types of shoes, and these are definitely my favorites. They are just so comfortable for me, and I love how they're light and don't feel like you have wooden blocks on your feet. With these, I am able to just dance and my shoes work with me, not against me. The only problem is that they are sort of loud when they are new...but what shoe isn't?
11/01/06 by Tammy from Beaufort, SC The best!
Rating: 5 I have a wide forefoot with narrow, tapered toes with the 2nd toe being the tiniest bit longer than my big toe. Plus I have very flat arches. These shoes make pointe effortless and painless. I blister a tiny bit during the break-in period but once they mold a bit, I don't even need any padding or tape. I feel no pressure on my second toe as if my toes are floating without losing the feel of the ground. These shoes are amazing.
10/15/06 by Kate Love em!
Rating: 5 I originally only bought them when my Russian Pointe orders didn't come through on time, but now I always buy these and just alternate with my RPs. They really do mold to many different foot shapes (mine are tapered Egyptian banana feet with bunions). The SS shank is great for strong dancers dealing with long rehearsal days; my feet don't look or feel butchered, even after 12 hour days. And they hold up to Jet Glue well - I can Jet Glue the shanks many, many more times than most brands before the shank becomes too brittle and snaps. Only downside is that the boxes do become very thin and hollow sounding quite quickly, making them even louder than other Grishkos (if you can imagine), and yes, they do squeak when the demi-pointe area is wearing down. But personally, I concentrate on the dancing not the sound of my shoes. Very flattering and comfortable, and the H shank is great for fouettes.
10/08/06 by Anonymous Rating: 5 These pointe shoes are AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL! The only problem for me is that, I break the shank, even the hard shank, within two times of wearing them! If only they were stronger!
10/08/06 by Anonymous Not so good
Rating: 3 I used these shoes for about 6 months and I loved them. But after I broke them in, the shoe stopped arching. Good for turning and if you have narrow feet....
09/16/06 by Nicole from San Diego Rating: 5 These are the best shoes I've ever tried in my life! I own them and I'm on my 6th or 7th pair. I have bad feet and I've tried so many pairs, but these allow me to get all the way on my shoe. There is nothing NOT to like =]
I want to purchase them off Discount Dance- is the soft shank the same thing as "super soft"?
09/10/06 by Happy dancer from New York Finally
Rating: 5 After trying Freed's Studio and Wingblocks, Sonatas, Alphas and one other Bloch, I tried these on with advice from my teacher. They feel great and make my so-so arch look a bit better. But mostly they're comfortable for my ducklike feet. Break-in is minimal (I use medium shank) and I like the shape it gives to my foot, less ducky, more tapered and all without any pesky blisters. These are keepers!
09/08/06 by Anonymous from Miami, FL Rating: 5 Grishkos are the best. I've owned 2 pairs of Grishkos and one of Bloch. I definitley prefer the Grishkos, especially these. They look great, and they are great for performances.
09/08/06 by Gail from Bentonville, AR Do you over arch?
Rating: 5 My daughter is double jointed and tended to severely over arch. We purchased I can't tell you how many "hard" and "extra hard" shank pointe shoes we tried. Someone suggested the Grishko Elite. We are on our third pair (pointe shoes wear out) and now she has the perfect arch. This is the only type we buy, and Discount Dance has the best price!
09/05/06 by Sarah from Oregon Wonderful =]
Rating: 5 I love these shoes! I tried the Sonata MKII by Bloch and they were horrible for my feet. So I went and got fitted, and these were the first pair. They have worked out wonderfully for me, except I got too soft of a shank. I suggest getting the medium shank, even if you don't have a great arch, because my arch isn't great and the shank wore out pretty fast (like a week) in the super soft ones. However, if they get soft, Jet Glue helps temporarily =]
09/01/06 by Marz Not the shoe for me
Rating: 3 When I first got fitted in these, they were PERFECT. And I mean it. They fit absolutely perfectly, I loved them, life was grand. But every shoe in every style after that was wrong, though maybe I shouldn't blame it on these. ;) They're quieter than the Pros. But I have long toes and strong, flexible feet, so my metatarsals were bending (which my teacher told me could break my foot) and I broke shanks.
08/21/06 by Caitlin from Kansas Not good for wide feet
Rating: 2 These shoes are much narrower than other Grishkos I've tried, but tend to last about as long. I go through one pair per performance, so I'd rather have a stronger shoe.
08/18/06 by Anonymous Rating: 4 Great for narrow feet. Bad for low arch.
08/17/06 by Tini Finally
Rating: 5 These are the best shoes!People say they break in too easily and I have had this problem too. Try a harder shank next time. Grishko just keeps improving their shoes and they have helped a LOT of dancers find "my shoe". The only thing to be careful of is hot weather, the box of softer shoes tends to melt.
08/14/06 by mgmdancer from Flushing MI The Perfect Pointe Shoe
Rating: 5 The Grishko 2007 is the best shoe I have ever worn. I have experience with many different brands and types of shoes and this is definitely the best. Several of the girls that I dance with wear this shoe and we all love it. Our feet are all so different and this shoe fits them all.
08/09/06 by Anonymous from Madison, WI Rating: 5 I have HORRIBLY flat feet... as in I don't have an arch when I stand normally. I have tried over 13 different kinds of pointe shoes in the past 3 years, trying to find "my shoe". I also have an extremely narrow heel, but a very broad toe shape with short toes. The 2007s, even though they taper a little, made my feet look amazing! I was always over on my box but never rolling off & I didn't have to cut the shank, something all other 13 shoes required me to do. These shoes were recommended to me by a principal dancer from the Milwaukee Ballet. She told me that these shoes work for every type of foot. I started out on a soft shank for a performance, fell in love with the shoe, and now for classes I wear medium shanks, hoping that my horribly flat feet will soon have somewhat of a strong arch. If you too have flat feet... TRY THESE SHOES! They give you an arch and being able to choose how hard your shank is, allows you to find comfort w/o ripping apart the shoe. THANK YOU GRISHKO!
08/08/06 by Laura from Pennsylvania My Favorite!
Rating: 5 I started pointe with Grishko 2007s and loved them! Some people say they're best for strong feet but that's not true. I have flat and weak feet and these shoes are so supportive and make my feet look good. I have tried anout 15 different pointe shoes in the three years since I got the first, and have never found anything better or more comfortable! Thanks Grishko!
07/12/06 by Lauren the Bunhead from California Rating: 5 I started out with Blochs and I wore them for about a month before I gave up on them. After that, I had a hard time finding "my shoe". I decided to give these a try. They were the best shoes I have ever danced in. I ordered the hard shank. The hard shank does take some time breaking in, but once they do, they last a long time. I went through shoes before these within 2 weeks or so. These lasted me about 2 months.
07/01/06 by Anonymous Rating: 5 These shoes are awesome! I just started Pointe 7 months ago, and these are the best shoes I've had yet! They're sooooooo comfy and they don't really hurt at all. They fit my feet great and they look great on any foot. Lots of people I know have these, and they love 'em too, so I don't think I'm insane when I say I actually look forward to pointe now. Again, these are the best pointe shoes in the universe, and I totally recommend them.
06/27/06 by Kristen from Montana My favorite shoes!
Rating: 4 I think these shoes are great. They are good for people with high arches because they are very supportive, and break in easily. They do die quickly though, so I suggest ordering two pairs at a time, and alternating between the two.
06/27/06 by Nati from Texas =)
Rating: 5 Oh wow. I've gone through like 5 brands since I started pointe in '01, and these are by far the best. Mine lasted a year...they're completely broken to the point where you see my toes, but I still love them (however I plan to buy new ones)!!! If you want your shoe to last longer and you want to work your feet, try hard shanks...that usually works for me and my exaggerated arch.
06/26/06 by Kate from Wisconsin I Love Them!
Rating: 5 This is the first pointe shoe I ever tried on and after that, no other shoes felt quite as good. Once you try them on, all others feel inferior. I have a very high arch and found these have excellent support without making you go over your box too much. Other dancers I have talked to say they last much longer than other shoes, as long as you get a good shank hardness for your feet. I got a hard shank and my last pair lasted over a year and were used frequently. And they fit great - I've danced on them without any pads, and I've never gotten a blister!!
06/25/06 by Erin from Atlanta, GA Rating: 3 I have been wearing Grishko 2007s for a year now. I like the way they fit after I fiddle with them a bit. They always seem to break in at the 3/4 point of the shank, which isn't where my arch is, so I usually have to manipulate them a bit. My only complaint is that lately, the box of the shoes have been getting squishy on the outside part of the shoe. I have found that applying shellack to the entire box of the shoe solves this problem. Even so, I would recommend buying three or four pairs of this shoe at a time, because they die very quickly(three days for me). They last much longer if you alternate.
06/24/06 by Anonymous Rating: 4 I really like these shoes. They don't have a very wide box, so balancing isn't wonderful, but they are easy and comfortable.
06/23/06 by Anonymous from California Rating: 4 I really love these shoes. They are the only shoes that have hugged my arches,(I have high arches). So glad they worked!!
06/23/06 by Cindi Rating: 5 I have a narrow heel, very tapered toes, and nasty bunions. These are the most comfortable pointe shoes I've tried and I've tried almost an entire store full. Thank you Grishko!
06/19/06 by Chelsea from Texas Rating: 4 These are my favorite pointe shoes. I get a little less pressure on my big toe in these, which has been a major problem with other shoes. The shanks break in easily at 3/4, so I would suggest hardening the shoe as soon as it breaks in to your liking. The only problem I have had, is that several have mushed very easily at the edge of the box, so when I "go over" it mushed down and feels like my foot will bend in half--time to get new ones!
06/06/06 by Dancergirl from Pennsylvania Rating: 5 These shoes were by far my favorite pointe shoes. My only problem was on about my third pair, the shank completely broke. So I am no longer allowed to use them because of how soft they are. Otherwise, they were amazing, and they allowed me to go over and made my feet look amazing! Thank you Grishko!!! If only they were stronger!
06/05/06 by Jessica from California Excellent
Rating: 5 I love these shoes. I haven't worn them ever since September 2005. But these shoes break in easy and last for a good time. If you have strong feet, you can really go over them (like me). I recommend these shoes for advanced and average (not really beginners) dancers.
06/04/06 by Clara Rating: 4 I really like the look of these shoes! They are gorgeous! But, my last pair lasted only two weeks and I had the hard shank! I wouldn't recommend these shoes to dancers who break the shank quickly, they just don't last long enough. Although, they are very pretty and work well when new!
06/03/06 by Anonymous from Louisiana Great for Flat Feet Too!!!!!!!!
Rating: 5 I love these shoes! I have flat feet, but my feet still look great in Grishko 2007s. If you've been discouraged by the way your feet look on pointe, you should try these shoes. GOOD LUCK!!!
06/03/06 by Christie from Miami, FL Rating: 4 This shoe was super comfortable for me and very easy to work in throughout class. However, I took them to a summer intensive program and they only lasted me about 4 weeks. I definitely recommend it as a performance shoe because of how easily it breaks in, but for daily class, it won't last long at all.
05/27/06 by Anonymous Rating: 5 This shoe is by far the best pointe shoe I've used in years of pointe work. I usually go through shoes quickly, a pair every two weeks and a pair every two performances, but these held up much better. I didn't need to break them in at all and they have wonderful support for my hyper-extended arches. I also liked the high vamp that gave enough support for the front of the foot.
05/25/06 by Jenn from Redding, CA Rating: 5 I have long, narrow feet with long toes, and unimpressive arches. These shoes are very supportive while allowing for perfect placement on pointe.
05/20/06 by iiheather from Seattle, WA Beautiful shoes!
Rating: 5 These shoes are so gorgeous! I have narrow feet with long tapered toes and they fit like a glove. They are soft, I didn't do anything to them to break them in. As an adult pointe beginner, these shoes are gentle on my feet and easy to work in. I'm a capezio girl at heart (about 15 yrs. ago) and didn't think I'd like anything else but I love these!
05/20/06 by Anonymous from New Jersey Rating: 5 I used to have these pointe shoes for about 3 years and were fantastic while they lasted. I had to get a new pair every 3 weeks or so, which I didn't like, so I decided to switch to Gaynor Minden and like them much better :)
05/18/06 by Elly from Texas Rating: 3 I like these shoes okay. They look very nice on my feet once they are broken in. But they wear out very quickly. My last pair only lasted three weeks.
05/13/06 by Ashwa Wow!
Rating: 5 These are my favorite pointe shoes EVER. I first decided to try them about a year ago. I haven't gotten another pair since! I am glad I finally tried them, after 17 pairs of bad shoes! I am now wearing my 13th pair of Grishko 2007, and I have only had 3 or 4 bad pairs.
05/13/06 by Steph Love them!!!!!!!
Rating: 5 I've bought over 15 pairs of these shoes. The shank breaks in pretty easily, forms to your foot, and lasts pretty long. I love Grishko 2007!
05/11/06 by Whitney from Huntington beach, CA Rating: 5 These shoes don't make my feet look sickled like Gaynor Minden and Freeds do. I also feel more on center with these shoes too. They take some time getting use to, but they're worth it. Also, I suggest ordering a couple pairs at a time because they die fairly quickly.
05/08/06 by Lissy Rating: 5 I love my 2007s! They mold to my foot really well--I don't have very good feet, but they make my feet look amazing! They are easy to break in and roll through to full pointe. They are, unfortunately, rather loud.
05/07/06 by Amy-Jo Love 'em!
Rating: 5 These shoes are slightly more tapered than some Blochs or whatnot, which looks lovely on my foot. These supportive shoes make your feet look nicely long and slender! I think they are very flattering on the right foot. I love these!
05/05/06 by Anonymous Rating: 4 I have had to replace my Fuzi's because of the box wearing out and softening too quickly. I have pretty flat feet, and the soft shank will never be too "broken" for me. My only need is a long lasting box, and these 2007's are my answer, with their hard, long-lasting, & durable box. My only problem is the fact that Grisko's are very loud. All in all, these Grishko 2007's are wonderful!
04/30/06 by Dance instructor from Virginia Nice shoes
Rating: 4 I have tried several styles in both Bloch and Grishko brands, so far these are my favorite. They follow and support your entire arch. They are easy to roll through and can be broken-in easily when in a rush. I wear them for over 2hrs. at a time while teaching and find them very comfortable.
04/23/06 by a dancer Rating: 3 They break in too easy.
04/22/06 by Anonymous Good
Rating: 4 I liked these shoes very much. They are easy to balance on, don't go dead very quickly, and make your feet look good.
04/14/06 by Mele Belly Great pointe shoe to show off your arch
Rating: 5 Out of all the pointe shoes I've tried, this one is by far the best. This is my fifth pair. It is very easy to roll onto point, and the shank shows off your arch. And, it is extremely comfortable. I've never gotten blisters from this shoe.
Thank you, Grishko!
04/12/06 by Maria from Westmont,IL Heavenly shoes...
Rating: 5 I love these shoes, they are amazing! The only flaw is that the box breaks fast on me, and I gotta get new pairs often. Other than that they are amazing!
04/10/06 by gINAaa from Hong Kong Rating: 2 I really dislike Grishko! They are the noisiest shoes I have ever worn!!! They are good for class, but don't wear them for performances or exams. They are really, really, very noisy.
(Editor's Note: We also carry the Grishko Pro Quiet 2007; a quieter, lightweight shoe).
04/06/06 by Dancer EXCELLENT
Rating: 5 This shoe is the best shoe I have ever used. Love them better than the 2007 Pros. Wonderfully made.
04/05/06 by Catherine from Texas The best shoes ever!!!
Rating: 5 I have used these pointe shoes for several years. They fit my foot, break in easy, last for a pretty long time, and are quiet when landing jumps. These are the best shoes- I wouldn't buy anything else!
04/04/06 by Returning dancer good for high arches and strong feet
Rating: 4 If you're an upper level dancer with high arches, you'll love this shoe. It's flattering, and conforms perfectly once broken in. It also is much longer lasting than other shoes for high arches. It does require a bit of work to break in, however.
04/03/06 by YOON from New York City Rating: 5 It is the best pointe shoe!
These shoes are very strong, so it's hard to break-in, but once you do, it fits your foot perfectly!!!
Very light, also beautiful colour!!
04/03/06 by Eliza Great for strong arches
Rating: 4 I own this pointe shoe and I personally think it's great.... but not every pointe shoe is right for everyone! This pointe shoe is for strong arches and willing feet, so be sure it's right for your level of dance before buying it.
