This is a good shoe, and the price is great. As for fitting, I'm always a med. width, and in this shoe I'm a wide. So, yes, it does run narrow.

Great shoe
Rating: 4
These are wonderful! The only downside is how small they run. My daughter wears a 1 in street shoes, and a 3 in these. Keep that in mind when ordering.

I got these shoes in size 4 Wide. The wides were narrow and I needed a size 5 or 6. The shoes were very nice but they did not fit.

My Favorite Ballet Shoes
Rating: 5
I truly don't remember when I bought these shoes- maybe 4 years ago. I have had many classes & recitals in them. I bought new ones this year because I have danced a year with a hole in both shoes (even though I have had shoes that have gone WAY worse!) and they were turning dark gray. I love canvas shoes and I'm too afraid to buy anything else because I loves these particular ones. I prefer these over leather any day because it seems that it's easier to pointe in them and much more comfortable.

Nice
Rating: 5
I loved these. They mold really well to your feet because of the mesh insert. They lasted really long and make feet look lovely. I like them better than the Sansha pro 1c's because Sansha's have a very round, almost shovel like toe and these are nice and narrow. I was really disappointed when they got holes in them, and bought Sansha's by mistake.

06/21/08 by Natasha from Philippines
They're OK..
Rating: 3
These were quite comfy... the mesh was a good idea because it airs-out the shoe and felt pretty breezy under my feet when I kick my legs (which was good!). Although the drawstrings hurt the top of my feet and caused painful red marks. It was something that was hard to get used to.

I think that these shoes are great! I have gotten these shoes for a couple years now. My most recent pair though, I through them in the wash and the inside came out! Now I am not gonna do that again. This time I bought 2 pair. One for class and one for recitals.
All & All I like them!

The best ever!!!

I love these shoes. They're the only flat shoes I wear anymore. I have a pair I've had for years. They're holy but so comfy!!! Plus, they're so stylish!

I bought these like 2-3 months ago. They make it so easy to point my feet, I love them! All I have to say is... BUY THEM!

Eh...not so great
Rating: 2
I am currently using these in class but it took several months to 'break in' and almost a year to get used to all the bulk in the sole that screws with my balance. The "bundling" someone else complained about, the lack of grip and generally odd fit. I've never had to 'break in' ballet shoes after the first two or three classes.
I read the reviews and bought it only 1/2 size bigger and it's just slightly big and twists around my foot during promenade (and some turns, dangerous!) but it's really tight and the back eats into my heel so I have to loosen the shoe w/ my finger several times during class. I've tried loosening the draw string but that makes my feet slip around in them even more and it gets very dangerous to dance in. So I am forced to choose discomfort over risk of injury in these.
The only reason why I gave 2 stars is because of the 'vent' but I didn't notice a huge difference from other canvas shoes. I would never buy this one again. Go for the Bloch Round Toe for less than $2 extra, or the Grishko Ultimate.

Hated 'Em.
Rating: 2
This shoe wore out in about a week of 15 hours of dance! I spend A LOT of time dancing and I need a very durable shoe. They pick up dirt, tear easily, blister my heel and toes, and also curl my toes. I would recommend these for anyone with extremely narrow feet or average arches. The elastosplit is definitely a better choice for a shoe, and the price for them is great, too. DDS sells them. Hope this helps - purchase with knowledge please!

Run way small

My daughter loves these. The only con is that we have to order these 3 full sizes larger than her street shoes.

All I will ever wear
Rating: 4
Such a great value.
I love that part of the elastic is already sewn when you get the shoes, less work for me! I have used multiple pairs for the last 4 years. They also dye great! The only problem is that the mesh insert does take some special attention when dying.

I love these shoes! They are cute, durable, and comfy. Great shoes!

Not very impressive
Rating: 3
I got the Airabesques because I wanted to go back to canvas shoes (my feet sweat a lot in class). I was fitted very carefully, but even so, these shoes feel too big and weirdly bulky, and they have an uncomfortable tendency to slide and bunch in promenade that my old leather shoes don't. My right foot is a half-size smaller than my left, and while I can make that work with leather shoes, I can't do the same with the Airabesques unless I'm willing to buy two different pairs. After a lot of slipping and fighting with the right shoe for a couple of weeks, I'm now wearing the Airabesque on my left foot and an older leather shoe on my right. I don't know, I guess I was just expecting more from these shoes. I don't think I'll be buying them again.

Terrible Shoe!
Rating: 2
Sizes come WAY too small. I had to get a bigger size and return the shoe 3 times.
I needed the shoe for recital, and they were just AWFUL! They didn't mold my feet correctly, and uncomfortably seemed to bundle my foot together, MORE than snug.
Plus, they got dirty after wearing them TWICE, for just TWO DANCES.
Unbelievable. I'm never going to purchase canvas, again.

12/23/07 by Meghan from Murfreesboro, TN
Rating: 3
They seem kind of flimsy honestly, but then again before this, I've only tried jazz shoes. When I first tried on the shoes, one of the straps fell off. I bought a whole size larger than my regular size and I think I should have only gotten a half size larger. There is way too much fabric at the toe and the sole is too narrow.

12/17/07 by Anonymous from Southern California
Rating: 5
I love these shoes, they are my favorite. I buy them every year. They are durable, and make your feet look great. I also like them 'cause whenever they get too dirty, I just throw them in the wash and they great.

12/07/07 by Libby from Alabama
Great for narrow feet!!!
Rating: 5
5 stars all the way! I LOVE this shoe!!! I have narrow feet, and the medium width fits me so well! And they last a whole lot longer than any others that I've had. I'm about to do a performance, and I'm buying these again. Without a doubt, this is my favorite ballet shoe!

11/17/07 by Grace from Chicago
Rating: 4
I give 4.5 stars. I do really like these. They are relatively durable, a nice color, and they breathe. But I don't like that they get really dirty. I pretty much like these but when this pair wears out, I'm going to get the leather Airabesques.

11/13/07 by Amanda Jane from New York City
A good canvas shoe
Rating: 4
These shoes are good, I've been wearing them for a year or so. I love the lightness of the fabric and they don't look or feel bulky at the end of your foot. My foot is very narrow and tapered, but they still look nice. They connect seamlessly for a really nice leg line.
One con is that they get dirty fast and wear semi-quickly. I'm switching to leather but would stay in these if the dress code hadn't changed.

11/01/07 by Courtney from Florida
Love them!
Rating: 5
These shoes are really good, especially for the price! They are nice for people that are just starting out or anyone else that wants a comfortable shoe to dance in. They run a little small but it's not that bad. I love them!

Best ballet shoes I've ever had
Rating: 5
These are an EXCELLENT buy for their price. They do run pretty small though. I got a 1/2 size bigger than I would street shoes but I probably should have gone a whole size up. I LOVE them far too much to return them though. If you get these magnificent shoes . . . you wont regret it :]]

Great!!!
Rating: 4
I have had these shoes for over a year. Of course they are going to get dirty but other than that they are amazing!!! I am 15 and have been taking ballet for 12 years. I usually get Sansha ballet canvas shoes but I gave these a try last year. I don't find them any more breathable than any other shoe but they look cool. The raised heel does make it a little weird on your foot though. It shifts the shoe a little to the outside of your foot. I don't have one hole in them yet and I have been using them 4 hours a week for a year and a half!!! Great shoes overall. I give them a 4.5

These shoes are comfy but the mesh part didn't make a big difference. I would recommend getting a size larger than your regular size.

08/16/07 by Heather from Janesville, WI
Rating: 5
I first tried these because I wasn't happy with the way split sole ballet shoes were fitting my feet. I was absolutely amazed at the difference the Airabesque shoe made. They hug my foot like no other shoe and the extra cushion in the heel helps to protect my body. The canvas is perfect for our more advanced dancers because it requires a greater control and understanding of how you are accomplishing your steps. It keeps my dancers thinking, as well as me! They wear through as fast as any other canvas shoe does, but the comfort for the journey cannot be surpassed. No more shoe games for me - I've found everything that I want in Leo's Airabesque!

So comfortable!
Rating: 5
These shoes are absolutely comfortable! The mesh padding feels nice, and I love their idea of adding a padding in the heel and ball of the shoe! It helps me spring higher when I jump! I love the color, it blends in with my tights. They look so good on my feet! I love the net that shows outside of the shoe. It's easier to air out, and makes my feet less sweaty and hot! 5 stars!

06/16/07 by Laura from Miami

They're light, and the mesh freshens up the foot a bit. They're good for pointing and they're also very comfortable.

These shoes gave me blister after blister and I will never go canvas again so . . . . One day before recital, I ordered new shoes and I am sure glad, because these shoes are BAD.

06/04/07 by Natalie from Atlanta, GA
A great buy
Rating: 5
These shoes are wonderfully light and airy. They are very soft and don't have those terrible bulges in fabric that hurt the soles of your feet, like Sansha. Overall, they're the best for comfort. They do tend to get dirty quickly though. However, if you can catch them on sale like I just did, you can buy a whole bunch and not have to worry about it.

06/02/07 by Korey from South Dakota
Pretty good
Rating: 5
These shoes were pretty good over all. They lasted me about 4 months, which is good, but then they got a hole. The first time, I ordered out of the catalog and it said same as street shoe, but they were too small. I just saw on the website, it says half to 1 size larger; go by the website.

I've been wearing these shoes for the past three years and they're the only ones I'll ever wear. They're beautiful, show off my arches nicely, and are very light. When they get dirty, I just throw them in the washer and air-dry them, and they look almost like new again.

05/03/07 by Anonymous from Chicago, IL
I'll never go canvas again!
Rating: 2
I've had these shoes for a year & I already have a hole in the bottom! They get dirty too fast and they look funny on my feet. The only good thing about them is the first couple weeks, they looked nice.

04/19/07 by Athena from Hawaii
Good, not great.
Rating: 4
These are very comfortable for practice, teaching and technique classes, but I've slipped and fallen countless times! The "breathable" part isn't any different from any others slippers I've had, but they are comfy.

02/23/07 by Lisa
Very Slippery!
Rating: 4
I've bought 3 pairs of these recently, and they are very comfortable. The only problem is that they have no grip! I've fallen so many times, but the price is great and they really help your arch.

02/13/07 by MDdancer
Pretty ordinary
Rating: 3
Maybe I was expecting too much, but I didn't find these to have better "breathability" than any other canvas slippers. And the raised heel feels really weird if you're not used to that sort of thing.
Overall, it's still a decently priced shoe that I'll keep for practice, but I doubt I'll buy these again.

These are the only ballet shoes I buy. They are perfect in every way. They wear out fast but what ballet shoes don't? I HIGHLY recommend them!

Rating: 3
I'm 21 and I recently bought these shoes. I find that they do help the look of my arch and I like the breathability. My biggest problem is with the raised heel. I found myself getting stone bruises around the heel. I cut the heels off and have not been having as many problems. They seem to be wearing nicely and are a beautiful color.

12/21/06 by Future Broadway Star from Michigan
Amazing. Enough said.
Rating: 5
I feel professional in these. I'm just beginning ballet at 14 but I can do so much with these! I pulled off my first double in class yesterday with these. When I first got 'em, I thought they'd be too tight. I wore them for 5 minutes and they quickly formed to my feet. The color is pretty too. The pink is pretty and looks great with my tights. I had an issue with sewing the elastic but I quickly caught on...If you want good ballet slippers, check these out!

12/20/06 by Mo from Pennsylvania
Rating: 3
They are nice, but both of my pairs of these have gotten holes by the big toe, the outside part of your foot by the balls of your feet, and at the bottom of the heel, within 4/5 months. Also, I don't like the raised ball and heel padding. It takes a while to get used to/squish down, but once you do that it is really comfortable. Before they start to rip and after you have 'broken them in', they are a good pair of shoes. They show off your arch nicely. I do recommend wider than normal though.

Too wide, mesh is strange
Rating: 3
I found the length to fit like street shoes, but the M was too wide for my narrow feet. I wish they came in N; they'd probably work a lot better. The mesh insole is definitely strange at first. It felt like there was just too much stuff in my shoes, when I'd rather have a better connection to the floor. I got used to it, but I'm not sure I'd buy these shoes again.

11/22/06 by Anonymous
Rating: 4
These are good shoes. The canvas is really flexible and light and the mesh lining does a lot. The medium however, is very narrow, so I recommend getting a large width if you normally get medium width.

11/21/06 by Anonymous
Rating: 4
I know they're pretty inexpensive, but I've had mine for 4-5 months and they're already dead. Other than wearing out so quickly, they were great. I just ordered them in leather, hopefully they'll last longer.

Great, but run small

These shoes are the softest canvas I have ever had and they are so light, you don't feel like you are wearing shoes. I have had one pair for three years and I am still wearing them, even though they have holes. But I would recommend these to anyone. They are truly great.

These are great! They're very comfortable and look very cool. They are a little slippery but work well most of the time. They stay dryer than most canvas shoes but are not completely dry. I loved and I'm planning on buying again.

These are very comfortable but they are miserable for turning. I can not count the times that I fell because they are so slippery.

Very comfortable mesh
Rating: 4
I used Bloch Pumps before these and decided to give them a try. The color is a brighter, fresher pink, and the mesh is extremely soft and comfortable. Turning is easier with these canvas flats. I'd recommend these. For sizing, I find it to be consistent with "same as street." I wore a size 4.5 B in Bloch canvas Pumps, I wear a 7.0-7.5 M street shoe size, and I ordered a 7.0 M in these. Fit perfectly.

They're cheap and comfortable

I love Leos - they're awesome. They're cheap and they're always going to be my first choice when I have to get new dance shoes!

07/21/06 by Anonymous
Rating: 1
I live right near the Leos warehouse, so everyone in my class almost has these shoes. They are alright, except after a while, you'll get holes in the mesh...and the pre-sewn elastic is tight on most feet just to cross over. Also, it doesn't highlight your pointe as much because there is a mesh sole inside the shoe that is very bulgy. I don't even see why there is a mesh sole because the bottom part isn't even open. I guess they are a good price...but they wear out so quickly...not to mention that they don't mold to your feet right and the drawstring snaps after a few classes. Overall, this isn't a very good shoe!

I love these shoes. They are excellent for turning and with almost no force you can do a triple. The fabric is light and soft...perfect for everyday practice. For the price, they are amazing.

Very light and comfortable. They point well and are a really good value. Great for turning. My favorite ballet slipper, and I have tried lots. Pre-sewn elastic is a huge plus. They wear fairly quickly but overall, they are the BEST BALLET SLIPPERS EVER!!!

No Grip!
Rating: 2
These shoes are comfortable and very inexpensive. However, the mesh fabric on the arch is a definite flaw. The mesh is very slippery on certain wood dance floors. I fell flat on my butt during a rehearsal because of the mesh sole. I wouldn't recommend these.

Average
Rating: 2
They are very average, and didn't last long for me. I don't know if I am the only one, but the insides fell apart and the soles aren't very big at all. They are good for when you are on a tight budget, but for a few dollars more, you can get the "pump" ballet slippers from Bloch.

I love the fit and the shape of these shoes! The mesh on bottom is also a big plus. They were definitely not the same as street size though. I would recommend buying them two sizes bigger than street shoe. I wear a 4.5 and I had to get a 6.5 for them to fit correctly.

04/01/06 by Anonymous
Generally a good technique shoe.

Good, standard shoe. Not too flimsy, yet not extremely durable. Sizing (for me, at least) is NOT same as street: I wear an 8.5 and I needed a 9.5 to allow my toes room to spread out.
