European Pink Pointe Shoe Elastic - ELAST
$1.29
3.5 Stars
This pointe shoe features a U-shaped medium vamp, a wider platform for balance, longer flexible side wings for support, a double upper for stability and special material on the toe for a quieter sound. Similar to Grishko's 2007 pointe shoe, except the Nova's heel is 5mm lower making it great for dancers with a disappearing heel. Excellent for both beginners and advanced dancers.

    GORGEOUS SHOES

I have been wearing the Grishko Maya for 5 years, and I thought I would never switch. What first attracted me to these shoes is that they have the 3/4 shank, like the Maya, and a semi tapered toe, like the Maya. However, these are wider in the big toe/little toe joint area, which is awesome because I have tapered toes, but they are really wide at the joints. It has a low heel, which makes a sleek line. I also like the broad platform, I'm getting triple turns without trying! My teacher told me to stop searching for other shoes because I've found mine. The shank did snap on mine, but it was because I was bending it with my hands. This also happened to a friend of mine with Novas.

    MY FAVORITE POINTE SHOES

I love these shoes. I have now bought four pairs of them, and are they only ones I will wear. They are as comfortable as pointe shoes get, especially once they are worn in a bit. I take about two classes on pointe a week, and they generally last 5-6 months. These shoes are perfect with people with long toes and thin feet!

    WIDENS AND SHANKS SNAP.

I got these pointe shoes because the store ran out of my size in Russians. They were pretty comfortable at first. I got a 7 XXX Medium shank. After 2 1 hour classes, I snapped the shank. They were very clunky and heavy, as I had experienced with the 2007 afterwards. They squeezed my bunions so bad my toes went numb. The only good thing was the long wings. I wouldn't get these again, and would rather buy Russians.

    EXCELLENT SUPPORT AND ELEGANT LOOK

I returned to pointe work recently after years of dancing only in flat shoes and I went from Capezio Tiffany, Chacott Veronese and finally Grishko's Nova, I take about 7 classes a week, 4 of them on pointe, and so I average 2 months in each shoe. So far Grishko's Nova has been my favorite, and here's why: Shape: elegant box and vamp for my feet and tapering heel are super flattering. I get compliments in my class about how my feet look in them ( I am sz 6 street shoes and have a narrow heel) Support: the shank, wing, broad and flat platform are perfect for me and allow me to stay fully in and over the box, and stay up longer. As a returning student, I am still working on feet and core strength, as well as the obvious technique, I am super happy with Nova. Of course I went through the usual pain of breaking in, it took a few classes ( and a lot of tape and toe gel protectors ) but once that was done, these were perfect. Sadly they are about 2 weeks away from shank dying, so I will be starting with a new pair again.

THESE POINTE SHOES ARE JUST NOT FOR ME

These were my first pair of pointe shoes, and I got them when I was 11. I really liked them at first because they were relatively comfortable, pretty, and gave a decent amount of support. They don't show my arch very well, though, and the shank only partly broke in. I have very narrow heels and had to sew the heel of these shoes so they wouldn't slip off (even with ribbons and elastic). These are good pointe shoes, and they work really well for other people, just not for me.

    SUPERB QUALITY, DELIGHTFULLY DURABLE SHOE

Very nice shoes! The lower profile of the shoes really shapes and accentuates the foot, making the leg look more streamlined in the mirror (at least for me). These are made out of practically the same last as the 2007, except the Nova (they are called the Nova 2007's in Russia [the "new 2007's in Russian], in America they are just known as the Nova, I guess) shoes are supposed to be 0.5 cm wider in the platform. I personally did not really notice any difference. The reason why I gave the shoes 4/5 on comfort is because since the shoes are made of newer, stronger materials, they felt much stiffer around the bunion and hurt a bit for the first couple minutes of wear. But I added a bit of water, and they immediately softened a bit, to my tastes. So, if you are an aficionado of the original 2007's like me, but are looking for an almost identical shoe with more durability and fresh, innovative new features, then I think the Nova may be the new shoe to try, if you are ever able to have the chance.

    TERRIFIC SHOE!

My daughter has really struggled to find the right pointe shoe. After trying many different brands, styles, sizes, widths (including professional fittings) she has found THE shoe! She wears a US 8 street shoe, has bunions, and a rather flat, but strong foot. She wears a 5.5 width of 5X. Even though she wears a wide size, this shoe makes her foot look and feel really beautiful! I've never written a review for anything before, but wanted to share because it has been a long 13 month journey.

    GRISHKO NVA POINTE SHOES

My daughter has very narrow, tapered feet, so after trying many different pointe shoes we have found the Grishko Nova with low profile and high wings support her the best. Due to the consistency in construction from Grishko we have been able to buy multiple shoes online with much success. Thank you!

    GREAT SHOE!

I have been on pointe for four years now, and I really love the Nova! When I originally went on pointe, I wore Grishko Mayas and I have literally tried on almost all pointe shoes that exist trying to find the perfect fit. I have very arched feet, and I break through shoes like a knife through butter, but these last me considerably longer than Grishko Mayas and even Gaynor Mindens for my feet. I would recommend this shoe to any dancer who dances on pointe for more than 2 hours every day who wants their shoes to last and to anyone who has bigger arched feet.

    GREAT SHOES

I have just gotten these shoes, and although I have not worn them to a class yet or even started breaking them in, they fit like a glove. They feel exactly like my old pointe shoes, which are very broken in and have already conformed to my feet. The Novas feel like they were made for me! They are also very visually appealing, not boxy and wide. I have very wide joints, but otherwise standard feet. I have the size 5 XXXXX, and although they are much harder than my old Capezios (a sign of durability!), I think they will break in very nicely. These are already coming out to be my favorite shoes, and I will definitely buy another pair after this!

    GREAT SHOE

My daughter has been wearing these shoes since the late Spring. She has been through several pairs. They fit very similarly to a 2007 but with some of the features of a Triumph. The heel is lower than the 2007. She likes these shoes for fit and danceabiliity but rotates them with 2007s because these Novas are not durable (similar to Triumph.) They break in quickly.

    EARLY FEEDBACK

These are fairly new from Grishko and my daughter just got them. Very few reviews out there so thought I'd provide early info. She danced for years in Grishko Elite size 5 xxxxx. She liked the feel but not the look, very short, square box. The Nova fits her wide square foot, but has a longer vamp and relatively more tapering so is significantly prettier. Her size, however, is a 6.5 xxxxx. Big difference in size length, so would suggest you get fitted first before buying online. The material at the heel is a bit less and looks especially nice on flat and demi-pointe. On pointe, less bagging of material at her narrow heel. (I hear of more and more dancers with wide forefoot and narrow "disappearing" heel. Manufacturers take note!!) She says they are comfortable and a good shoe. She hasn't had them long enough to judge durability. Contrary to the claim of extra-quiet, they actually seem to be quite loud and clacky. However, that is a relatively minor point; the fit, comfort, and appearance are the primary focus. But still, would be nice if they were quieter. Perhaps when they are a bit more broken in....

Are these 3/4 shanksif not are they available on this site?

The Nova is not a 3/4 shank shoe. You may want to look at the Grishko 2007 which does have a 3/4 shank.

I wear size 4 Fouettes, I wear size 5 with 2007, what size should I get with Novas?

Sizing on the Nova is comparable, however we recommend basing the size you order off of your street shoe size. The sizing for the Nova recommends ordering 2.5-3 sizes smaller than your street shoe size.
