GREAT SHOE TO START IN, LOOK IS BEAUTIFUL

So first off I can't speak for more advanced students as these are my first pair to have since getting professionally fitted. However, I thought I could help by saying what type of foot I have and why they work for me for anyone starting out or thinking of switching to this shoe. Foot type: Narrow overall but wider in the metatarsal area, tapered and long toes, average size heel (does not stick out too far and is not wide for my foot) big toe slightly longer than second toe and then all other toes go in a sharp taper, normal to low arch but not flat footed, low instep, compressible foot, able to achieve high releve but ankle is not super flexible yet for pointe work as I would like it to be Shoe sizing: I am a U.S. street size 6.5 - was a street 7 in these shoes --4.5 actual grishko size. However, the 1/2 size up (which would have been a 5 grishko or street 7.5) felt better during fitting but my fitter said that because of the extra fabric in the heel on pointe she was not comfortable with sending me home with them as they will stretch over time so we stuck with the (less comfortable but getting more comfortable) smaller size 4.5 Comfort: With the silicone toe covers on my big toe (like bunheads clear gel tips) and a junior ouch pouch (the bigger pouch bunched up too much) I barely feel any discomfort on pointe and when my feet are very warm/worked out I can stay on my box with ease. Every other shoe I tried was either excruciating or there was more pressure on my big toe than I felt was necessary. Box: This is a tapered box that has a pretty small surface area--probably would be a horrible choice for dancers with short toes that do not taper or do not have a compressible foot. Out of all other shoes I tried on (Russian Pointe, Gaynor Minden, Bloch, Capezio, Mirella, and Sansha) these were the most comfortable and easiest to get over on my box. The closest were Blochs but they just weren't as comfortable. The worst for me were Gaynors and Capezios. The capezios were very painful on the big toe and on the sides of my foot even on flat and the Gaynors were just weird and made my foot cramp when I tried to point it in my shoe, I couldn't really "feel" my foot on the floor and couldn't tell the difference between be on or off my box. Shank: Since I'm a beginner I have a Medium shank, but if I had high arches, very flexible foot, or stronger foot for pointe I would definitely get a hard shank as the medium is more flexible than I would have imagined. If you're a seasoned dancer en pointe I would definitely not get a medium shank despite low arches. Look: My fitter preferred how the Blochs that were the runner up looked on me but I loved the Grishkos from the start. I thought the Blochs looked a little too sweet/traditional if that makes any sense. I feel like the "v" in the vamp and glove like fit in these makes my feet and legs look amazing! Note: My fitter wanted to put me in Grishko "Maya" but didn't have the right size, I think this could have been another good option for my foot type if they had the size I needed - it was a width issue.

    PRETTY BUT SHANK GOES FAST

These shoes are so amazing. They flatter your feet, and I got a lot of compliments in class. However, if you have high arches, you should get the Hard shank because the medium shank will go very quickly. I would recommend this shoe more for those with low arches. For those with high ones, these shoes will look beautiful on your feet but will not last as long. Great for performances, etc.

    FLEXIBLE AND AWESOME :DDD

This shoe is very comfortable and fairly easy to break in. The weird thing is, I order a hard shank and sometimes it is super hard and other times it feels like a super soft shank. Otherwise, it is awesome. Dies in about 2 months i dance 3 times a week.

    GREAT LOOK

I have worn these for the past 2 years and I love them. I found the fitting to be closer to 2 sizes smaller than street size, but that might just be me. The shank does break in quickly which is great for shows, and with my relatively flexible feet last for about a month and a half after shows. They are aptly named fouette, they are great for turning. The box shape is easy to balance on and turns well. I would recommend them!

These are the best shoes I've ever worn. I have a hard time getting over on a pair of shoes, but these worked well. The shank is very soft which is exactly what I need. They are easy to balance in and roll through, and they have a very nice demi-pointe. They are virtually silent and are great performance shoes. They also break in very quickly.

    FINE..

These shoes are a perfect perfect fit to my foot (my toes are at more of a slant.) These shoes never gave me much pain at all! Even after hours and hours of dancing on them! My only problem with them is that they do break in at the wrong places at times... and I go through them way too fast.

I tried these shoes on at the store, and thought they were pretty well made. I was able to get over on them nicely, etc. The only thing I disliked about them was that the box was really hard, but the shank was like super soft(even though I tried on a hard).

    PRETTY AWESOME!

I was actually trying to get the normal Grishko ProFlex but for some reason I got these instead. They're great! I got over them right away before I even had to wear more then once. Though they were easy to get over and balance on, my big and second toe are slightly longer than my others so they kinda put a lot of pressure on my big toe. I don't have super bendy feet so these helped make them look pretty and make them look longer. I have very high arches and these shoes supported them very well. They are also good for strong feet, but flexible too. They're just ahhhh-mazing!

    what width do I get?

My feet are about 3.5 inches wide at the metatarsels and then then taper down. What width of shoe should I get? Also I wear a size 8 in street shoes and that leaves a little room so my " true size" is about 7.5. Would a size 5 fit about right?

Unfortunately, sizing for pointe shoes require a proper fitting inside a dance store. Although the suggested sizing is for women to order 3 sizes down from their street shoe size, other factors such as the arch, foot strength and even toe pad thickness can alter the size you would need in any pointe shoe.

i take a 4# in gynor minden what box size is best in this shoes

    i have high arches

Unfortunately you cannot choose the box size in this shoe like you can in a Gaynor Minden. A #4 in a Gaynor is a broad & square box, whereas this shoe only comes in a slightly tapered box. The box in this shoe will be slightly more narrow than what you are used to.

    sizing

I take a #4 box size in Gaynor Minden. But my width is medium. Im wondering if these shoes would have my box size? Also my street shoe size is 8. And I have a medium to high arch. Also my foot shape is greek type. high vamp.Im wondering what size Grishkos I should take and which Grishko?

We do offer the Gaynor Minden Pointe shoe in a #4 box with a Medium width. These shoes do run a bit small, so we recommend ordering 1 to 1 1/2 sizes bigger than your street shoe size. You would want to order them in a 9 or 9.5. If you have a medium to high arch, we recommend going with a deep vamp.
