Capezio's Stretch Insert "GT" Jazz Boot. The durable, soft leather upper with a slim cut that enhances the line of the foot and the split-sole design with a stretch insert that hugs the arch. EVA sole and heel provide traction yet allow for smooth turns. Built with PowerPointe Construction-a scooped arch construction that eliminates excess material and enhances a dancer's performance. The pattern change enhances the look and the feel of this ankle boot, creating a clean line and a high performance tool. Soft, supple and durable leather upper features folded edges for a cleaner, more polished look. The footbed features a split design to allow the shoe to work with the dancer while minimizing the amount of material inside of the shoe. Suede forepart and heel is connected with stretch neoprene that hugs and caresses the arch. Available with a non-marking injected PVC heel that provides longer wear, more comfort and stability. The heel also features a raked breast that virtually disappears into the arch during pointe. The contoured, smaller EVA sole patch is designed to better replicate the ball of the foot, providing superior protection and the most articulation.

    OK SHOES

My dance team switched to these shoes this year, & I don't really like them! I wear them 4.5 hours a week at least and after 6 months they have not kept up well. They are awful to turn in and the heel is loud and clunky. I can do 12 perfect a la seconds in my half soles and these I can barely do 3! If you don't turn a lot(beginner) and you dance 3 or less hours these work!

    UNATTRACTIVE AND CLUNKY

My dance troupe switched to jazz shoes (as opposed to pudinis, which don't get me started on those) this year, and at first, they reccomended the bloch neo flex, but then they told us to get the capezio cg15. Well, i wish I had gotten the bloch neoflex, because, first of all, the tan color of these is very unattractive. Although, I know that is the "tan" color for most dance shoes. The tan color of the bloch is way more attractive. The capezios are more classy, but the blochs would serve the purpose more, to dance. When you turn in these shoes, your foot drags. the heel on this shoe is very clunky. It is so hard to turn in these, I would definitely not reccomend these to anyone, unless all you do is just stand on stage.

    GOOD TRACTION, BAD TURNING

I got these because I started a jazz class over the summer and I really liked it. So I went to Capezio and I'm usually an 8 wide in dance shoes, but just a 7.5 in street shoes. They have good traction, but but with all the rosin on the floor, I couldn't turn easily. They're ok.

    UNCOMFORTABLE

I got these shoes for jazz class. They run super super small. I am a size 7 and I had to get a size 9. They were very uncomfortable as well. They made my toes hurt and they were hard to turn in. I didn't like these shoes. But that's just me.

    SO-SO

I am 12 years old and last competition season I needed this for a jazz piece. They held up great for the first few rehersals and competitions but after about 3 months of wear, the inside sole starting flipping up causing my turns (and toes!!!) to suffer. I don't know about the black or tan but the suntan gets dirty fast(espically when you're coming up over your toes 24/7 :) All and all, this shoe is best for younger dancers who don't have to do many turns and tricks.

GREAT FOR TURNING THEY RUN SMALL THOUGH

I am 11 years old and a regular shoe size 7 and we got me an 8 in these. They are tight-fitting though. Order 1-2 sizes bigger, maybe 3 for wider feet. They are TERRIFIC for turning though, I did a perfect Quad in them. We got mine for competition- they hold up very nicely. They are worth the money.

These shoes are nice but, they tend to run small(I didn't know to order them one size bigger). Also, I wouldn't recommend them for people with wide feet. I have the wide width and they're still a little narrow. But other than that they're great.

What size would I order if my street size is an 8

If you wear a women's size 8, Capezio recommends fitting to street shoe or up 1/2 a size. This would mean you should order a size 8 or 8.5. If you wear a men's size 8, Capezio recommends fitting up 2 to 2.5 sizes. This would mean you should order a size 10 or 10.5. Please know we are unable to guarantee sizing.
