    NICE BUT TOO NARROW

These are nice shoes. I ordered them in a 5M for my daughter, they should have fit perfect but they are too narrow. Unless the leather type are normally worn I would not suggest buying them or consider ordering up a size. I will try to sell them locally to recoup the cost or send back for a refund.

GOOD QUALITY, NOT SURE WHAT TO SAY ABOUT SIZING

I've been wearing canvas split sole shoes most of the time and finally decided to try some leather shoes. I'm a very standard street size 6.5, medium width, so I ordered 7M. Now immediately when I tried them on I thought, they feel thick and well cushioned but there's no way these are gonna fit because they felt very narrow in the toe area while roomy in the heels. But then I pointed my feet and they felt just right in that position. I decided to give them a try in a warm up session, and I believe they did loosen up a bit and didn't restrict movement. So, this could be me not used to leather shoes, or these shoes need some breaking in, or they're just weird. If there's no cost I'd return them or exchange for a 7.5, but for now I'm content with this pair. Probably will stick with canvas for the future though.

I bought these for my 11 yo. dancer. She loved them from the first time she tried them on. She said she can feel support in the arch.

I recently wore out a pair of ballet shoes similar to this style. I think they were the style before this modified version. I couldn't wait to receive these. The shipping took only two days which was even more exciting. You can imagine my disappointment when the shoes were a half inch to an inch too big. I ordered the same size that I had before. As I inspected the shoe further, I was surprised by how much cheaper it was made. I will be returning these immediately and will be looking for a different pair.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with these shoes. We will address the issue with the manufacturer and make them aware of this incident. One of our Customer Service representatives will contact you to rectify the situation.

    GREAT BALLET SLIPPER, RUNS SMALL

These are great and very durable. I bought them to grow into and by the time she outgrew them, they are a bit scuffed up, but construction (stitching/elastics) are still in perfect shape. We are now buying our second pair. Important to know: they run small. I bought the first pair 1 year ago and my ballerina was wearing a size 3 in children's. People had told me that they run small and I bought a size 5 1/2 in adults. This was perfect and they were just big enough for room to grow without being really too big. When you get them, have your dancer put them on over some tights, then stick up her foot. "Pull" on them to sort of massage/rub the shoe towards the front of the foot. This allows any extra space to be in the toes. You can even pinch it in front of the toes. Then gently pull and tie the elastics that go around the opening of the shoe. Pull them until they form to the foot, but not so tightly that they pull that extra toe space up. I double knotted and cut the strings at this point. Then each time she wore them, I'd give them that little tug/massage. This helps them mold to your dancers foot. Treat them right and a year later, they are too small, but nice enough to pass on to another dancer! She is wearing a size 4 in children's now. I bought a size 6 1/2 this year and we begin the process again. Good luck!

SOFT, FLEXIBLE AND WELL MADE BALLET SHOE

When my daughter tried on these shoes without tights they seemed to be too narrow however, with tights on they fit well. I purchased the size based on the website recommendation. My daughter wears a size 4 child size shoe, so I went up to sizes to a 6 and the recommendation was to add another 1/2 size and the 6.5 fit her perfectly. I truly appreciated the elastic crossover bands already sewn in place. The ballet shoes are soft, flexible and the color is perfect for you ballet class, a soft pink.

    COMFORTABLE BUT....

These shoes are very comfortable, but the color is more like a nude and it doesn't really look as good on my foot as it did on the models but besides that this is a great shoe.

    RUN VERY SMALL

I ordered a half size up from street shoe size like recommended, and my daughter couldn't even get them on her foot. Good thing I live near a store so I don't have to pay to return. Also, the color is more nude than pink if that makes a difference to anyone.

GREAT VALUE FOR A GREAT SHOE.

This is the best ballet slipper. My daughter is 14 and has been doing ballet for 7 years. We always buy this shoe, and always from Discount Dance as they have the best price. I especially LOVE that the shoe comes with the elastics already sewn in place. They are comfortable and last a long time.

    VERY NICE LOOKING

I had lost my shoes once right before class, and I needed to borrow a pair of shoes. Luckily, my friend had a pair of these shoes. I wore them for one class, and the worked very well. Some people prefer canvas shoes, but these shoes honestly are just as good, even though they're leather. I like how it's split sole, because my feet look horrible in full sole. I would recommend buying these maybe as back-ups, especially if you prefer the canvas feel. They really come in handy if I ever need an extra pair of shoes,

    HORRIFIC SHOE

I got these about 2 weeks ago and i absolutely hate them. I wore them to classes for two weeks everyday and they haven't even slightly molded to my foot. Also, they are bunchy and uncomfortable. They don't do anything for my arch, which is pretty high, and actually sort of made it look worse. I ended up getting Bloch pro-arch slippers. I absolutely love them! Way better than these!

LASTS A LONG TIME, UGLY SHOE

This shoe is ugly. It has a very boxy shape and does not hug your arch AT ALL! These shoes are not my favorite - although I dance on carpet and they lasted over a year without holes (dancing 2 x a week for 2 hours) I would not recommend these to people for looks, they are ugly. But, if you are looking for quality, these would be my picks. I am currently using Sansha Silhouette shoes, because they look fabulous on stage, but they wear out very quickly. I will be trying Sansha Pro 1 leather next.

    I LOVE MY BALLET SLIPPERS!

I love my ballet slippers! The price is great. However I would suggest that you go a size bigger then what you normally wear for street shoes. I have very small feet and got same size as my normal shoes but they are a bit too little and it can be annoying sometimes while dancing. All in all a great shoe! They keep my feet very warm!

What do M and W stand for?

These are width indicators. M is medium and W is wide.

I'm fairly sure M and W stand for medium and wide - foot width. - Reluctantballetmom (11/03/2015)
